Work Text:
I sat down on Homura's bed. It felt extremely awkward. "Um, can I tell you something?" Homura looked straight into my eyes as she asked me a question that would change my life.
"Of course! You can tell me anything, I'll always be there to listen!" I responded, smiling, even though it was a promise I knew I couldn't keep. Homura looked at the ground, obviously not sure how she was going to phrase her next few words. I just watched her, watched the girl who made my heart skip a beat every time I thought of her, watched the girl who made me blush everytime I saw her.
"I like you." Homura finally said, voice barely above a whisper. She looked up to stare into my eyes. God, Homura's eyes were so stunning. The deep purple hue made it so easy for me to get lost in them, I wanted to drown in her eyes and never come back.
"I-I like you, too!" I replied, after looking at Homura for what felt like hours. Without warning, I felt a tear run down my face. Before I knew it I was sobbing, and Homura had her arms wrapped around me, desperately trying to comfort me.
"Madoka, what's wrong?" Homura asked, concern filling her voice. I sniffled, shaking my head. I didn't know why I was crying. I had everything I wanted, including Homura.
"I'm j-just so lucky t-to have such a w-wonderful life..." I choked out between sobs. I leaned into the embrace, clutching onto Homura like she was going to fly away if I let go. I felt droplets on my head, Homura was crying too.
"I just want to be with you." Homura whispered, "I just want to see your face, and I know it's selfish, but I can't help it.... I love you." Homura pulled out of the hug and took my face in her hand. I leaned into her touch as she gently brushed away my tears with her soft, warm fingertips. A shy smile tugged at the edges of my mouth.
"I love you, too. I want you to be happy." I whispered back. Then, Homura kissed me. Her long black hair wrapped around us like a curtain. Her lips were soft, and I couldn't help but to completely melt. Our mouths moved rhythmically , and I tasted saltiness. It was my tears. I was crying again, but I didn't care.
When I finally pulled out of the kiss, my face was flushed. I didn't deserve Homura, but she deserved happiness, and if I made her happy than I would give all of myself to her. I wiped my nose on my sleeve and started laughing.
"I look like a mess right now." I said, hiccuping and laughing. It was true, my face was flushed red, my nose was dripping, and my eyes were red and puffy. Homura giggled, wrapping her arms around me and pulling me into another tight hug.
"You look perfect to me."
