“You’re acting weird,” Bakugou accused. “At least, weirder than normal. Got something to say? Spit it out.”
Damn, it was a perfect opening. This was it!
“I,” Kirishima started shakily. “I just wanted to, um, just wanted to tell you that…” That I like you, that I want to date you, that I’d be honored if you’d consider me. That I love you more than I realized I could even love anybody. Shit, he felt light-headed; his heart rate was probably pushing Mach 1. Bakugou’s eyebrow twitched impatiently, and with that tiny movement, Kirishima’s remaining resolve collapsed like a Jenga tower. “…That I might need help on some assignments tonight.”
Damn. This was not it.
Kirishima's mind was set. He absolutely, definitely, 100% was going to confess his feelings to Bakugou. There was just one, teeny-weeny little issue: actually confessing his feelings to Bakugou.
In which Kirishima pines and tries his best, Bakugou gets mixed signals, and their friends laugh.

It made him want to yell it from the tallest building, and whisper it into the night. He wanted to let the whole world know, and keep it all to himself. He wanted to hide it away in the darkest corner of his room, shove it in his chest and let the love grow under the sunlight gleaming from his heart.
