The wormhole opened itself yet again revealing the visage of a bright blue sky and green grass. The Chosen one breathed in the clear air probably for the last time he would be able to notice it. The sun beaming on his dark skin, the breath had started off clear and tight but ended up shaky as he let it out.
Unprompted he began walking towards the small house he knew was situated nearby. He knew what was going to happen, what he had no doubt was going to walk into. He would meet back up with his now ex partner and confront her about her latest plan the vira bots. Then a fight would break out between them. Then he would either let her kill him or force himself to kill her.
as he began to see the small wear house in distance he had to wonder how all of this came to be? He wanted to say it was like life flashing in front of his eyes but not exactly never the matter it gave him chance to look back on things. It started off so simple just the two of them two stick figures finally free from the control of their creator finally able to choose for themselves.
But things grew complicated they always did, and things grew complicated in the form of feelings beginning to sprout between them. And as that began to change for them so did their bodies. Chosen one didn’t really have the best explanation for it Dark was always better with science stuff. She said something about the rules of this world being different to the computer causing their bodies to change or something like that.
All that was important to him was the fact that he was growing hair and uhh some other stuff that gave him reason to actually start wearing clothes like the trench coat and jeans he was sporting now.
As his hand fell on the doorknob his last obstacle before he would face her his mind couldn’t stop itself from drifting to softer times. When his hand was engulfed in her as the two just lay there admiring each other. And what wasn’t there to admire? Her gorgeous red skin with her piercing white eyes and he couldn’t forget the black outline of her hair that put the word striking to shame.
She was just so hauntingly beautiful anything that dared to harm her, to shatter that beauty and wilt his crimson flower deserved nothing but the worst. So what of him? He tried to justify it, all throughout his trip to Alan’s PC and back home he tried to tell himself it was just in self defense. That she attacked first that she was the one who went crazy and was taking things to far. But was that really true?
Was it not him who taught her how to hate? Was it not him who encouraged her wrath? Was it not him who actively joined in on her destructive habits? And was it not The Chosen One who struck her so hard she flew through a wall out the home they built together? The look on her face, it was as if no pain actually registered in her body as if it were flooded with the pain of the betrayal of someone she loved.
Even now he tried to justify it, to stomach it, to just shove it down deep within himself and just pretend it doesn’t exist just power through. He let out a grunt as he swung the door open and what he saw almost immediately unscrewed the tight seal on his emotions.
As soon as The Chosen One step through the now open door her sharp eyes were on him. Her face said it all she was furious to see him again and that made him physically recoil. Once there was a time where whenever he stepped through that door he would be met with a sign of happiness a sign he was welcome.
Whether it be from an exited call from his partner or her smiling face or heaven forbid a surprise kiss the second the door was opened enough for such things. He always felt welcome.
It was because of this because of that feeling he realized, he could never hurt her… at least not again.
”well~-
She drawled it out letting it run off her mouth as if it were one with her mucus and as if her mucus were nothing but pure venom and hate. The tone she had was nothing if not pure content and agitation of him even being in her presence.
-Someone finally decided to come back huh? And right after destroying the project that cost me half of my life. Meant for US, How was the fight my baby put up a good one?”
He didn’t move he just stood in the door way as Dark stared daggers into him. It felt like every second he was still in her vicinity he was on paper thin ice. One wrong move and he would be rushed like a rabid animal. So he didn’t move he just continued to look into her cold eyes for any sign of warmth within them.
His body felt cold and he had to look away, had to find something warm like the sun. Beaming in through the hole still in the wall that hadn’t been repaired the one she went through. He let out another shaky breath looking over to her again she had on a coy smile as if she were teasing over a small bickering they had rather than the massive screw up that he had done.
“Oh My darkness-
He started, didn’t get to finish not before being grabbed by the throat and slammed against one of the still standing walls of their home. He let out another shaky choked cough as the wind was knocked right out of him. His eyes closed shit but he tried to force them open only getting them up by a crack. Her face looked manic, a forced smile that stretched her face painful and threatened to shatter her own teeth.
”You. Don’t. Call. Me. That. Ever. Again.”
She pressed harder into the wall as if trying to push him through it. Perhaps she wanted it to be even between them? To have two walls broken through by one another facing against each other.
“You don’t get to just waltz in here like you did nothing wrong and call me that little pet name like you still even care. I’m not some- some- I am not- I am- FUCK!?”
She fumbled over her words, her mouth tripping underneath her own anger as she only began to tighten further and further like a vice. All throughout out it Chosen had merely sat still letting it all happen to him. He was nothing if not fair and if she wanted this then he wouldn’t fight back he would give her this at least.
But then she loosened her grip, his throat open and air burned his throat upon its entry down his wind pipe. He gasped and coughed as Dark merely stared apathetic to his desperation. As breathing returned to normalcy and heart rate slowed its pace Chosen looked up weakly at Dark. Something in her eyes softened but as soon as he noticed it she did as well. She yelled before chuckling off the wall and onto the hard springy sofa causing him to groan.
He wasn’t left alone for long however as soon Dark pounced on top of him slamming her knee into his gut causing him to groan as she straddled him down her knee buried into his stomach her spiked wast band digging into him as well in tandem. Then Dark grabbed Chosen’s hair roughly pulling his face upward then using her other claw to hold his chin up forcing their eyes to meet.
“Why? Why did you change? What did I do wrong? What did I do that made you hate me!?”
She yelled indignantly demanding an answer, Chosen winched not only from the physical pain but from the pain in her voice she sound like she was sobbing he didn’t open his eyes he didn’t want to look didn’t want to face what he had done yet again to her. This only enraged her.
”Fucking look at me! Stop pretending like I don’t exist! Just say it, say what I know you think. YOU HATE ME! I know you hate me now just fucking say it!”
”I love you! I have always loved you! That’s why I can’t look at you like this! Why I can’t stand to see you so hurt it feels like breaking apart inside seeing you sob like that. I’ve never hated you, I’ve always loved you!”
He finally spoke breaking out on tears, tears that were met with Dark’s as her eyes could no longer hold them back anymore. She collapsed into his chest their bodies falling over one another in tight embrace. She cried into his chest while he cried into her hair placing the odd frantic kiss on her forehead.
The sobbing eventually slowed and what followed was a silence that suffocated. Not with negative but just with its pure emptyness words had to be spoken and the right ones as well. Chosen slowly and gently rose Darks’s head her eyes clouded by tears, he wiped them away as his hand fell on her cheek stroking her skin she seemed to melt into the touch.
“I’m sorry.”
He said softly and singularly letting it stand for itself allowing her to place for anything she needs it for. He was sorry for never stopping her, he was sorry for hurting her, he was sorry for ever making her think he could hate her. Then she mumbled out a word that he could apply for whatever he could need of it.
”I forgive you.”
