Chapter Text
It was autumn.
The orange and reddish leaves gently flew away in the wind, it wasn't cold but neither hot. It was mixed, it was perfect.
Nearby a shop and an empty building, one of the leaves flew past and brushed against a ‘For Sell!’ sign causing it to fly into the much smaller shop near it.
The single leaf landed on a lavender flower, before gently being scooped by the messy hair shop owner. He looked at it, debating on throwing it on the ground or letting it get taken by the wind. He gave a small tsk, before discarding it in the trash. He already had enough to clean, the last thing he needed was anything outside to come inside and ruin the plants. Maybe he should've closed the window, but then the plants wouldn't be able to get any light from the sun to grow. Before he could put any more thought into it, more leaves blew into his shop, causing the messy owner to cuss.
He looked down at the mess, how…Lovely…Exactly what he needed. He walked to the closet before grabbing the broom and dust pan, and then started cleaning.
He swept around the shop, throwing the leaves in the trash, before he turned the sign on the door to open.
…
3:00 PM.
“Hey, excuse me? Sir.”
The shop owner blinked, looking at the customer who had been trying to get his attention. “Hm?”
“I was trying to ask if you had anything else…uhh” they got close to him, trying to read his name tag. “Ichimatsu?”
Ichimatsu glared at them, god, didn't people know about personal space? Finally, they back away. Causing Ichimatsu to relax a little.
“No.”
He spoke with a cold tone, causing the customer to scurry back slightly.
“I suggest leaving if you can't find anything of value.” Ichimatsu spoke again, never taking his eyes off them. They gave him an odd look, before finally walking out.
Quietness again, how he liked it. Something he could always retreat back to, and he preferred it staying that way.
..
8:00 PM.
He sat in the employee area, well, it couldn't really be called that. It was a room he slept in, he quietly ate ramen as he stared at the ceiling.
Quiet, it was quiet again.
Besides the sounds of his breathing and eating, it was his usual routine. Always the same thing everyday.
Wake up,
Clean and open the shop,
Water the plants,
Try selling the lavender flowers he had always ordered,
Close shop,
Feed any stray cats,
Eat and sleep,
Always the same thing, Ichimatsu didn't bother trying to do anything different, it was simpler like this. Easier, he always liked doing the easy way. That didn't mean he was lazy, no. He just really didn't wanna bother with it, not seeing a point to it.
Setting the ramen cup down, he turned to his side. Staring at the mail he had been ignoring for the past month.
Rent and bills.
They laid on the floor, greeting him like an old friend. Ichimatsu gave a glare at them in annoyance, as if they did something to offend him. He glared at them for a few more seconds, then he started falling asleep.
….
9:00 AM.
Getting up and out of bed, (although, being slightly a hour late..) Ichimatsu changed into his work clothes. He left his room, walking to see if any leaves had flew in again-
..
There was a truck outside, right in front of the empty building next to his shop. It was different, something different.
He didn't like it.
He didn't like different.
Different meant change, stress, more things to worry about.
The sign in the front was gone too, someone bought it, someone was moving in.
Change.
Change.
CHANGE.
His schedule was thrown off, his entire schedule was thrown off. So Ichimatsu being ichimatsu, ran right into his room. Hiding like a cat.
Where it felt simple again, ever so simple.
