The first punch stings with the clarity of adrenaline as your blood pumps faster. Five hits in and I’m tapping out. It couldn’t matter less that I lost or that the fight was pathetically short, all that mattered then was that living, breathing basement that all the men shared and crowded, shoulder to shoulder, some mouth to mouth behind the crowd, getting off to grunts of pain and passionate swings aimed at the most beautiful face they’d ever seen.
