Summary
Eddie continues watching as the large man walks over towards him and Bobby. When he approaches, he stops in his tracks, puts his hand on his obnoxious belt buckle that says “BUCK.” The man’s gaze lingers on Eddie’s feet before looking at Bobby. “This the new ranch hand?”
“Eddie Diaz,” Bobby introduces. “Came all the way from El Paso, Texas.”
“What’s a city boy like you doing all the way out here?” The man asks.
Eddie crosses his arms, with the sudden urge to present himself as worthy. “Wanted to try something new. So here we are.”
