Jack and his wife Cynthia had arrived at the party they were invited by Jay Gatsby. Jack with his bright rusty orange hair stook out like a sore thumb, Cynthia went off to go party with some friends leaving Jack alone. Jack was lost in thought thinking about the island, that was almost 14 years ago.
Jack still remembered Simon and Piggy, Simon with his Long Jet Black hair, fairly tanned skin, and Big Brown eyes. He couldn't remember Simon to well but that's his description of Simon, Piggy with his amber hair and Blue eyes or the glasses.
Jack only got out of thought when he was being poked on the shoulder, Jack thought it was Cynthia because out of the corner of his eye he saw beautiful blonde hair. Except this blonde hair was around Jack's height and more Gorgeous then Cynthia's could ever be it was a nice golden wheat color. Jack finally turned around only to be met with the most beautiful green eyes, they were a yellow green like grass when hit by the sun. The person infornt of Jack had beautiful fair olive skin, they weren't dark but definitely not Light.
"It is you! Good to see you still doing well Merridew!"
Jack couldnt believe it was the person in front of him Really Ralph Allebach? The same Ralph from that island? The same Ralph he fought with in the Navy? Ralphs skin was a little darker then last time he'd seen him and his hair was a little lighter and had brown streaks it was also a tad bit more gold but that was definitely Ralph Allebach.
"Ralph! It's been awhile since I've last seen you what was it like 4 years ago?! You look dashing"
Ralph Grinned showing his dimples, Jack couldve sworn the room became hotter because his cheeks grew some heat to them nonetheless Jack smiled back
"You look pretty good if I don't say so myself, have you met my wife?" Ralph spoke keeping his grin, Jack noticed that Ralph had gain smile lines, he always knew he would, a bright boy like that is bound to smile so much.
"A wife you say? Didn't think you could get one"
Jack joked. he heard Ralph chuckle, he was sure his cheeks had grown warmer but he wasn't sure, he felt proud he made Ralph laugh it was a pleasant sound.
"Very funny Merridew, this is my wife Natalie"
Ralph moved out the way to show Natalie to Jack, Natalie had luxurious long black hair, snow pale skin, and beautiful blue eyes. Natalie put her hand out to shake Jack's hand.
"very nice to see you Mr Merridew, Ralph has talked about you a bit."
Natalies voice was soft like Simon's was. "Yes very nice to see you as well, youre very Gorgeous glad to see such a lovely couple together."
Jack didn't know why but while comparing Natalie and Simon a bitter feeling had grown in Jack's stomach, Jack felt upset but he didn't understand why, was it because of Natalie? He didn't like Natalie romantically he had only thought she wasnt harsh on the eyes, he never really liked Simon either, or had he? Had he just forgotten? It didn't matter, Simon was dead.
"Ah let me introduce you to my wife"
Jack looked around for Cynthia once he saw her he went up to her and dragged her over.
"This is my wife Cynthia"
Jack gestured to His wife with his eyes stuck on Ralph. Natalie was the first to speak up
"Ralph you and her look like twins"
Ralph had realized this too he didnt mind it his features were pretty common Blonde and light Hazel eyes, Ralph lent his hand out to shake Cynthia's
"nice to meet you female me"
Cynthia laughed at this she probably shouldnt have because that almost exactly why Jack chose her but nonetheless he still liked Cynthia. Plus Cynthia already knew he had crush on Ralph but this just upped her suspicion. Jack and Ralph continued talking for the rest of the night until Ralph and Natalie had to depart. Jack and Ralph made eye contact but held it, Ralph ran up to Jack and placed his hand on his shoulder he came close and whispered to Jack
"See you soon Darling."
Then he took Jack's cigarette he had in his hand Jack had started smoking later on in the night and started smoking it before running off laughing with Natalie.
Jack remembered back in the Navy when it was a cold snowy night and he was outside smoking, he was cold but he needed to smoke, the door opened and out stepped Ralph in his Navy blue trench coat. He took it off and offered it Jack, Jack hesitated but in the end took it, Ralphs arm was very warm, that was something funny about Ralph he was always warm or hot. Jack took the coat and in return gave Ralph his scarf that just so happened to be his favorite. Ralph wrapped the Scarf around both of them and moved a little closer to Jack and layed his head on Jacks shoulder, Jack didn't mind if anything he find it nice that Jack trusted him. Ralph had gotten his Trench coat back but Jack never got his scarf. He didn't mind it he could always get a new scarf, plus that was just a casual interaction.
Cynthia tugged on Jack's sleeve
"Dont worry they won't last a month."
"What?"
"Ralph and Natalie?"
"What make you say that"
"because Ralph is definitely a Homosexual. "
"what."
"Gosh you're as blind as bat, lets just go home."
