DRAMA QUEEN

Atsumu is overdramatic.

He got into a silent fight in middle school. He knew reprimanding his teammates, even going as far as to question their abilities, would ostracize him. He didn't care tho, he knew the moment he opened his mouth, he would break the team spirit.

It's fine— he convinced himself— but… HE'S STILL PISSED OFF.

THEY'RE TREATING HIM LIKE HE'S INVISIBLE. HE WANTED TO PUNCH THE FUCK OUT OF THEM. HE WOULDN'T EVEN SPEAK OUT ABOUT IT IF IT WEREN'T FOR THEM BEING A SUCKER. They shoulda get the fuck outta the club if they can't play!

“Yer a dumbass. If they can't play well, then ya can't work with a team. volley’s a teamsports, it ain't tennis where ya can solo n’ duo.” Osamu sat beside him one late afternoon.

“It’s singles and doubles, ya fuckin’ dumdum.”

Atsumu knew he'd get smacked in the head but he retaliated anyway, because what he said was right. And it's fine, he knows what he's getting himself into.. BUT DAMN THAT HURTS.

The twins came home with scratches and light bruises (also: a busted lip on Atsumu) that night.

Atsumu is overdramatic.

He got into a fistfight with an upperclassman in high school. Apparently, he was constantly flirting with his girl— the girl being his classmate and his current science groupmate. Well, fuckin’ damn! He didn't even do it— heck, he was just trying to help her understand stuff to make the project look better!

IT'S SO UNFAIR!

“The teacher! Someone, call the teacher!”

Atsumu swiped his bleeding nose and continued punching the fuck out of this upperclassman.

“Atsumu, stop it!” He was dragged by Osamu, Ginjima, and a few of their classmates. “That's too much—!”

“WHY ME?! HE'S THE ONE WHO BARGES IN ‘ERE MAKIN’ SCENE OUTTA NOWHERE!!”

Atsumu felt like crying. Why are they reacting like this? They should defend him instead! He's the victim for fuck’s sake!

“We know! We know, okay?” Osamu held his shoulder down to stop him, “but look, you win now, okay? He's not getting up anymore, see?”

Atsumu breathed heavily as he gazed at the man lying on the floor. The girl groupmate sat there crying next to him. She was looking at Atsumu with scared, teary eyes. It was as if he's the problem.

The teacher came into the room, fuming, at that moment. Osamu tried to block him from the teacher's gaze but the moment his eyes saw the upperclassman lying almost unconscious on the floor, the teacher was deadset on him.

“Office, now!”

He got into a squabble with his, um, friend— if friends kissing each other is a totally normal friendship thing. He knew there's just no getting with Omi the moment they started fighting over a topic. However, what he didn't expect was for things to escalate. Seriously, he didn't know if it was just him being sensitive or if it was Omi being insensitive.

One moment, they were just talking about their interest— y’know, tryna get to know him lowkey— but the next moment, Omi’s being annoying. They got into movie topics. Atsumu loves it, but Omi absolutely finds it boring.

It's fine, it could be boring to some people, but the fact that Omi knew he loves that movie but still cuts him off and say “meh, could be better,” “boring,” and shit, pissed him off.

Does he really need to say that in front of his face?

“Shut yer trap, yer lameass got some mid taste too!”

Kiyoomi looked at him, his face mocking him further. “Yeah, but not as bad as yours.”

“You—!” Atsumu felt his heart drop to his stomach. He shouldn't be reacting this way. This is such a non-issue, but why did it feel like this when Omi said it?

“Suck it up, drama queen.” Kiyoomi said, his tone definitely light-hearted, but Atsumu felt something snapped and he just—

“WOAH! Hey, hey, stop that!”

Kiyoomi wiped the bust on his lip and looked at Atsumu in confusion. “What the fuck, Miya?”

Atsumu shrugged off his teammates’ grips and ran off to the shower room. Why? Why did Omi feel the need to say those? Why does he look happy saying them? He loves those! Omi knew that so why?

It sucks. Omi was supposed to be his safe space. He was starting to like him, starting to like being here, enjoying everything despite all the negativities in life.

Atsumu is overdramatic.

Extra:

“Miya..!” Atsumu didn't bother and kept himself busy by wearing his clothes. Thank fucking gods he's done cooling down. He didn't wanna stay here any longer—

“I'm sorry.” Atsumu wore his shirt last before he glanced at him.

“Why?” Atsumu picked up his towel and placed it neatly on the rack. “'m the one who punched ya.”

“Because..” Omi stood beside him and said, “I was being a dick to you earlier and I dismissed it when you're clearly hurt about it. I'm sorry, Atsumu.”

They had a lot of talk that day, and getting along again felt so great. He wished it won't ever happen again. For that to happen, they have to be respectful of each other.

— the end —
