As Nacho is escaping Lalo's "Cielito Lindo" in Chihuahua, the darkness outside of the hacienda seems to show him all but freedom and second chances, anticipating a dusty and light blue-hued omen of death, making Nacho soon realize that running back to Fring meant demise for him and an unknown fate for his father.
What did running back to Lalo mean? More death? Choosing between Fring's cold machinations checkmating him or Eduardo Salamanca's warm hands choking him was easy."Would he listen to him? Would Lalo be the strong and unmovable thing that could save his dad, as batshit as it sounded?"
2007
In a Salamanca owned Albuquerque, Nacho lives in hiding as the most wanted man by the DEA on the US side of the border, since, as promised by the fireplace three years earlier by Lalo, he's running the city's drug trade, changing safehouses frequently, and having to deal with a mysterious rat who's tipping off information to the police. As if that wasn't enough, Nacho has to battle with the gut wrenching guilt and anguish of seeing Manuel grieve his death from afar, and with Lalo being back in town to "make sure the business is running in order" once again.
