“Talk to me,” he pleads one night, curving his body around Childe’s as the stars blink down at them from the window. “Tell me what ails you.”
Childe shifts closer, resting his head on Zhongli’s chest. His voice is low, raspy. “It is not your burden to bear.”
“We are mates,” Zhongli tells the night sky, wrapping his arms around Childe’s lithe frame. “Your burdens are mine.”
After his trip to Fontaine, Childe is aloof and listless. Zhongli attempts to settle him.
