As a dashing young hero was out in on his secret training ground or as a spirit would call it "Subaru and garfiel's playground" watching him do his routine of jumping over obstacles, running, and hitting targets with his whip. But he wasnt alone as with him is his ever adorable and cute smol companion Beatrice was accompanying him this time
"When will you be finished, i suppose? i want to back home now" The spirit yells at her contractor while she throws a tantrum
"As soon as i-" he grunts with each hit to the targets "Take this one out!"
Subaru yells out as he hits a target who shares the silhoutte of a certain clown.
"And there, now i guess i can end it early if you wanted to, but first" He says as he slowly walks up to Beatrice holding his hands high up
"Time to recharge by teasing my cute little beako for a while"
"AHH WAIT-wASh YoUr swEAtY haNDs FIrst" Her voice warping as Subaru playfully pulls on her little spirits cheeks without her consent, much to beatrice's dismay as this continues on for 5 minutes
As the duo now heads back to Miload mansion as roswalls 2.0 was still being rebuilt they hear voices at the front gate and notice a carriage parked out infront. The people near (who Subaru belives to be with the carriage) had white cloaks on with a yellow accents on the hems. But before he could remember who they were he was immediately tackled by one of the smaller members.
"Mini-boss!" It was mimi pearlbaton from the iron fang, guess he didnt need to think too hard who the rest of them were now
"Mimi!? why are you here?"
"Anastasia told us we were going to the Emelia camp, she said she had something urgent to do here and so herewe are!" Straddling him "I dont really know what for though, i was too busy trying to get hetaro to cheer up over me hitting him on the head 'cause he stole my cookies! "
"Did we have any visits for today beako? and also you shouldnt do that to hetaro Mimi"
"no, but i suppose we should be heading in to check it out, betty has a bad feeling about this"
And so now the trio starts to head in- wait trio?
"hmm whats wrong mini-boss?" done so casually mimi foregoes straddling him and has moved on to sitting behind his shoulders.
"I mean aren't you like their strongest? You're supposed to be guarding the carriage!"
"Aww thanks for the compliment but nah, thats for chumps like Gaby over there" Pointing to one of the shorter members "I was with Anastasia earlier but i wanted to go to the bathroom so i left before the talking started, so now im following you guys to meet back up with boss lady"
"Well i guess its fine, right beako?"
"Hmph, i suppose"
As they walk along the mansion's halls they spot petra in the middle of the halls, looking worried and frightened
"Petra? whats wrong, what happened?" Subaru noticing this hurriedly ran over to comfort her. She hugs him and quickly hides behind him holding his freehand, shaking
"Petra? Petra? where are you?" a voice can be heard from the other side of the hallway, the sunset forming shadows hiding their face.
"please, stop him Subaru" petra whispers.
Hearing the little girl makes everyone prepare for a fight as Beatrice holds Subaru's hand preparing to cast minya, subaru letting go of petra to ready his hand on his whip, Mimi prepares to opens her mouth to scream at this foe. A moment passes until
"Petra? Please i promise you'll look great with this-" Now that everyone can see who it was they prepare to unleash their attacks until "Oh its just Clind"
"Yes its just me, oh petra thats where you are? Please jus-" Clind stops as he notices the little girl behind subaru-No noticing the little girls around Subaru Clind seems to change
"Oh i apologise Mr. Natsuki" his tone turned polite now, respectful even, almost as if he was talking to someone close and not a coworker "If i knew i had accidentally offended Petra enough to come to you i shouldve realized, i apologise"
"huh?" Subaru was ulterly confused by this man, all he knew about Clind was that Frederica considered him 'odd'
"Oh right, hes clueless about those things i suppose"
"mini-boss, whats he talkin about?"
Clind happens to notices everyone's confusion and explains that he was just trying to get petra to wear a new maid uniform Clind had specifically made for her (which Petra whispered to Subaru that it was "Too much" and "Totally suspicious, right?") which she then refused and Clind tried to force it on her, leading to the situation now.
"Clind when a girl says no, she means NO" Subaru knew the Mimload's butler had a odd personality, just didnt think it was this odd
"Again i apologise, if i had known you and her had a romantic kind of relationship and closeness i probably should have asked for your permission first"
"Yeah thats right-wait what?"
Huh? waht? Subaru and Petra having what kind type of relationship?
"More importantly, i never knew you where also interested in beastkinds as well, me personally i tried to get along with frederica but she always seems to keep a distance between us when she was young"
Now even more confused. Subaru interested in beastkinds? sure they dont have that back in japan so he was a little interested but what does that have to do with the situatio-oh...
Oh no. As Subaru finally realizes what this must look like to Clinds point of view he looks around.
holding his left hand is Beatrice, who notices Subaru looking at her and smiles at him, grateful to get attention Mimi on the other hand is still on his shoulder and whispers "He's wieeeeerd" he agrees, and to his right is Petra, who took this chance to hold Subaru's right hand. If anyone where to see a Man surrounded by 3 loli's its only natural he's of dubious nature at the very least, and so, you can see where Clind's assumption came from
"WAIT NO ITS NOT WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE I SWEAR!"
"No need, i understand" Clind already accepting Subaru as a fellow lolicon, not taking no for an answer insists
"Please you're mistaken, Petra and i arent in that type of relationship or closeness like you said!"
"We arent?" Petra, although she was scared for her life a second ago, knows an opportunity to get closer with Subaru when she see's one
"NO, wait no YES but not like that!" Subaru, now half-panicking as he dosent know how to respond correctly
"Dont worry, i wont tell anyone" Placing a hand on his shoulder "Brother" Clind says with a wink
"WE REALLY ARENT" Subaru, now fully panicked
"Hmmm, i dont mind Mini-boss as a potential mate" Mimi adds more fuel to this raging wildfire
"You're already at that stage? im impressed Mr. Subaru-no Subaru sensei" Clind says in awe of seeing the lolimancer do his thing
"Subaru..." Beatrice seems to have a horrified look on her face her smile quickly turning to worry "Am i next?..." oh the poor spirit, it seems she's accepted her contractor having 'questionable tastes'.
"NO!" Subaru has to clear this misunderstanding NOW before it gets too far and the others hear about it
"Im NOT a lolicon, and i DONT have relations of those types of with little girls!!" Explaining to Clind and beatrice
"Petra's 10 for crying out loud-" Subaru says before getting cut off by Petra herself "um, im 13"
"With Subaru being around 17 year old, a five-year age gap isnt all that uncommon so dont worry, im sure her parents will agree" Clind Reasons as Petra nods
"No they wont!!" He yells out, trying desperately to rectify this situation
After some back and forth Clind finally leaves (Still convinced Subaru is a lolicon) and Subaru deciding not to enter the room where all his friends are, surrounded by little girls decides to send Petra back to frederica and mimi to go with her (incase Clind comes back)
And so now the former-duo-turned-trio-turned-quartet+Clind-now-duo catches what sounds like a tense negotiation's
"Again we're not unless you tell us exactly why you want to meet with him we just arent going to let you meet Subaru without telling us why" The voice coming from otto.
"huhu, its seems as though theres always something happening with you, i suppose" beatrice huffed "worry not subaru i wont let you be in danger or get hurt, i'll protect you with all that i have" subaru was feeling a little embarassed to be protected by some Drill-haired loli but he does know that if it comes down to it she really will protect him with all she has.
"just who wants to meet me this time?" Its been some months since he's been knighted and of course all sorts of people have come to meet him: from soldiers who expressed their gratitude for his help in defeating the white whale, to merchants who asked if he still had any more of those metias he had sold to russel, even nobles who came to him with marriage propositions (he dosent know of these as Otto, Beatrice, and the maids handle it in secret)
"Im guessing i shouldnt go in yet?"
"that would be the smart choice, in fact"
"Again this is something between me and Natsuki would have an easier time explaining together. Trust me when i say this but i dont think you guys would want your 'little secret' getting out now would you?" The voice came from Anastasia but it didnt matter right now. The camps 'little secret'? its obvious to everyone in the camp that this person is talking about their time in the sanctuary, where roswall had purposefully tried to kill his own servants and villagers in following his gospel, where he had met all seven witches and the mansion burned down, where he made that contract with Beatrice and finally got his first kiss with Emilia.
"Actually!" As subaru swings the doors open "I dont mind meeting you now all of the sudden!"
"Wow i shouldve pulled the blackmail card way earlier then" Anastasia said staring at subaru
"Subaru!? how long were listening?" Otto fell out of the couch out of surprise ask's
"Around the part you told them you're not letting her meet Subaru without saying why, i suppose"
"Yeah around that part" subaru now taking the chance to check who's in the room. Otto is now sitting on one end of the couch while Emilia sits on the other end, behind them standing are both ram and garfiel.
"Oh uh subaru, we didnt mean to leave you out of this, but we thought you'd still be walking back by now" Emilia told subaru
"Thats because Beako wanted me to finish faster than last time(Barusu you should really work on your phrasing),but i was still able to finish the course, i guess this just means im getting stronger right?"
"Fer real boss?!" garfiel juts in to congratulate him "If it works that well for you im just wondering how strong my amazing self will be if i go there even more now" Earning himself a strong smack on the head by ram.
"Stupid barusu, stop putting ideas into young garfiels mind, we still need someone strong to guard the mansion other than Frederica or Roswall"
"AHEM!" feeling left out and forgotten (two forgotten stars fic ref??) Anastasia who just tried to blackmail the emelia camp decided this small interaction to be enough of a break from the bombshell she had dropped
"So if im hearing this right, Natsuki-kun you'll agree to a meeting with me now?"
Turning to Anastasia he was surprised to see her alone with no bodyguard, well Mimi was here earlier so atleast she wasnt entirely defenseless, and he was thankful it wasnt julius who accompanied her
"Yeah if it makes you keep quiet about the Sanctuary"
"The Sanctuary?"
"Yes the Sanctuary" Otto having realised something "THAT is what you meant by our camp's secret right?" as soon as Otto asked her this question Anastasia seemed to have realised she had realized they thought of something completely diffrent on what secret she was talking about, but knowing that the camp had more skeletons in their closet was nothing for now, but she will keep it in mind for later.
"Uhh Big-bro i dont think she means the sanctuary biz" garfiel whispers to Otto "Thanks for the input garfiel, couldnt have put that together on my own" Otto whispers back, totally without sarcasm "Nah no worries, my amazing self is smart like that" comepletely ignorant.
"If not the sanctuary, then what do you mean by our secret then?" Emelia asks anastasia "For all we know you're bluffing to get what you want from us" hearing this subaru jumps is "Actually yeah, i may have haphazardly agreed in a panic (stupid barusu(quiet onee-san)) but what if you're just lying to us?"
"Well, cant say i didnt expect something along these lines to happen, But" holding one finger up Anastia looks confidently, smirking "I can just tell y'all then?" challenging the camp.
"Well yes, please tell us this 'secret' of ours you so diligently worked hard to aquire miss hoshin" Otto seemingly accepting it.
Everyone in the room waited for her to speak, Emelia, Ram, Garfiel and Beatrice looked worried, what if she really did know the truth about what happened in the sanctuary? and that she's going to have Emelia camp in debt or worse? Only Otto and Subaru looked confident, Subaru had faith the villagers who were inside the sanctuary wont tell a soul of anything to the outsiders, especially not to anyone connected to Anastasia, Otto on the other hand didnt have faith in the villagers, he was just really good at hiding his worries at negotiations.
"That subaru here is from Beyond the great waterfall!" Anastasia hoshin, the purple star declares as she stood up pointing to Subaru.
A moment passes before-
"I know my Knight can be weird sometimes, hes not familiar with proper manners or social cue's but-" The elf
"Huh natsuki kun from another world? that does explain alot of things still though-" The merchant
"Hey i know my boss isnt all normal to your guys standard and that all his solutions are unorthodox but-" The shield
"Barusu being from someplace not of this world makes sense although-" The maid
"That would explain his subarisms i suppose, still -" The spirit
"THERES NO WAY THATS TRUE!!" All collectively yell out in unison
"huh? oh yeah im from another world, how'd you know?"
completely nonchalantly our brave, handsome, witty, slow on the uptake hero confirms it.
"HUH, you're confessing it that quick?!" Even anastasia who made the accusation couldnt believe subarus absolute indiffrence.
"Its not like ive been trying to keep it a secret or anything" he said facing his friends "I mean i told Otto but he was absolutely wasted at the time"
"SUBARU!!" emelia shouted
"YES?" subaru, as if by instinct had already assumed a submissive stance infront of EMT
"You came from beyond the waterfall and didnt think to tell us??"
"I wasnt sure you'd believe it-" This line earned him a smack from ram
"Stupid barusu, if you have secret like this you better tell us now or i'll have garfiel here beat you"
"HUH, theres no way in hell am i beating up boss, he'd probably die just before the third hit"
"Natsuki-kun, from beyond the great waterfall? awww man, what have i gotten myself into now??!"
"Betty's contractor isnt from here?" the little spirit loli pondered, sure her contractor was a bit weird making little odd remarks about things she never understood 'Trust me, garfiel's going to love this lasanga' and he was right 'Hey beatrice, is this dress black and blue or white and yellow?'it looked like neither to her but she could tell subaru was making an inside joke about something stupid 'i SWEAR that guy just looked like markiplier, you see it dont you Beatrice?' ok yeah She REALLY should've figured it out before anyone else honestly.
After some time of calming everyone down and explaining how he was transported to this world and his first day in lugunica(hes sitting next to anastasia now) his friends finally seemed to calm down.
"Fighting the bowel hunter on your first day here? thats gotta suck boss but hey, atleast ya didnt kick the bucket so theres that atleast" Garfiel smiles at his boss, in his own ignorant 14 year old way he tries his best to comfort subaru which subaru winces at the comment about him dying but he dosent realize it.
"Yeah, but anyways back to the topic at hand" he turns his face to Anastasia
"I wasnt here to hear the entire conversation, so what exactly do you need me to help you explain? where kids come from?"
"Ok first off i know where kids come from Natsuki (I dont big sis wont tell me, please tell me boss) i might look like a little girl but im twenty-three" Anastasia was hurt by this realization that, even though she's older than their maid Frederica whos 21, shes still smaller than her "Next, Y'see when i realized you were from beyond the great waterfall like the great hoshin i realised this was a once in a lifetime chance to get close to the second coming of the great alec hoshin!" She said it so enthusiastically completely forgetting that she just tried to blackmail all of Emilia camp a minute ago.
"So you just want me to tell you things from my world?" Subaru hazarded a guess, he could tell that the main reason she visited them was because it had something to do with her finding out.
"Not just tell but "Create" things from your world-no i want you to Re:create objects from your world" She told him with accompanying hand gestures "One can only imagine the leaps in technology in your world for the last 400 years"
"So you want me to Re:create objects and ideas from my world to sell to you?"
"Yes i want you to Recreate items from your world, and with the Re:created items being sold to the masses"
"Huh i guess that makes sense, im guessing you guys dont have stuff like fireworks or ballpens right?"
"I have no idea what any of those are but i wish to see them and sell them" Anastasia said with a smile on her face
"Well i guess i can probably do that, but atleast one person from each of our camp should accompany us" Subaru realised that meeting alone, with what one society (and me the author personally) deems as a cute, funny, pretty, beautiful and defenseless girl is prone to scandals and rumors decided upon this compromise.
"Well then Mr. Natsuki" stretching her hand out "Its seems we made a deal"
"yeah i guess so" And so subaru accepts her offer-
"DO WE NOT HAVE A SAY IN THIS?!" Otto screamed out loud to subaru
"Natsuki kun we havent even discussed payment, dates for when to meet, even what you're going to create?!" The Internal affairs officer was in a panic, his camp's knight just agreed to deal without even getting anything from it
"Dont worry about that Mr otis(thats not my name-) i was just about to get to that" Trying to calm him down "i just wanted to confirm that subaru WILL be making items from his world to ours y'see" She tried her best to calm down the merchant
