Hello! This is my first fanfic on AO3 so excuse me if some tags are wrong or if the writing is sloppy, English is not my first language either so this also counts as a challenge for myself haha.

Chapter Text

All started after Lucifer had fallen to Hell embracing his wife, Lilith; the choir of angels couldn't deal with the empty space he left, so they decided to ask permission to God trough the Speaker to bring a new member.

After exactly 6 years the angels received a reply from the Speaker, for them this period felt like a blink due to their longevity. "Your prayers have been heard, we shall welcome a new angel to the choir and due to the fallen one's seraphim nature, they shall be a seraph too so the balance of the choir doesn't get affected."  Said the Speaker of God to the angels who whispered to eachother in their seats.

The Speaker clenched her hands into tight fists, then opened them to reveal a dove of light; it shifted shape into a blinding ball of wings with blue eyes, and finally, into a girl with white hair and grey skin. As she took her final -more humanoid-  form, the Speaker plucked a feather from her wing and made a dress for the new member of Heaven.

"Everyone, please welcome Emily." The angels began to applaud and sing a sweet melody—one that had not been heard since the birth of Lucifer.

At the end of the ceremony, the angles departed to their usual duties, all except for Sera -the head seraphim-, Emily and the Speaker. "Thank you for staying Sera, the Lord has a special assignment for you, my child" said the Speaker with her soft spoken voice and a big hand resting on Emily, who had been really quiet this whole time

When the ceremony concluded, the angels withdrew to attend to their usual duties, with the exception of Sera—the leader of the Seraphim—Emily, and the Speaker. "Thank you for staying, Sera; the Lord has a special mission for you, my child," the Speaker said softly, resting a large hand on Emily, who had remained very quiet throughout."Oh, I assume it has to do with the new member." Sera said, never dropping her serious look once. "You'd be correct, you see, the fall of Lucifer really affected Heaven and while the inicial plan was to leave his place in the choir untouched, God, in all his goodness, decided a new angel deserves a chance BUT this time, with a little guidance the incident shouldn't repeat itself."  She understood quickly. As Lucifer's older sister, Sera felt a measure of guilt for not having guided him down a righteous path—one that would not have condemned humanity and himself because of his pride—or at least, that was how she saw it. "I understand, your highness, I will do as God commands" she said before watching the Speaker disappear with a gentle smile.

"So, Emily." Sera glanced at the new girl, who was puffing out her cheeks as if trying to hold something in."Is  there something wrong?" She asked now getting closer to her. "EEEEEEEEEE OH GOD OH GOD!" Emily finally let out the loud happy scream she had been holding for the past hours, she fluttered with her new 3 pairs of wings around Sera who was growing irritated. "Did you finish?" The elder angel asked, watching her as Emily touched the ground. "Mmm, yes, sorry—it’s just that... THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I’VE BEEN ALIVE! WHAT DO I DO? WHO DO I ASK? WHERE? WHE-"..."Silence child." Sera interrupted before she could keep yapping. "First of all, we do not use the Lord's name in vain and second of all, all this fuss is not necessary; you are a seraph—you need to show some decorum and... prudence" Emily couldn't help feeling a little ashamed but how could she not make a fuss? She resorted to looking at the shiny floor tiles. "My apologies, ma'am" she said. "Call me Sera, I'm the the head in command of all angels and you are my new sister." Sera walked slowly down the hallways, and Emily followed behind her.

As they walked down the seemingly endless corridor, Emily began questioning Sera about everything. Who was this Lucifer? Did she have other siblings? Had she seen God? Sera simply ignored her until they reached the entrance to an open space filled with fluffy clouds; there, she stopped and said, "You ask a lot of questions, all in due time, child."
