Chapter Text
Jack was currently scaling the side of a building in an effort to get away from the villain Blackout because he had no intention of fighting him yet and as he looked up he saw the news helicopter.
Jack just reached the edge when a metal arm tried to reach up and grab him(yes like Doc Ock) he kicked it away not letting it come in contact with his Endoskeleton or he would get a virus and shut down but he did hit his shin on the edge of the building.
He had learned the hard way and his dad asked to many questions.
Jack looked at where his friends were, TJ was fighting the Villain Horizon with Dazzle trying to find a weak spot she could shoot at with her bow.
TJ had his giant blue avatar that looked like him but just below size of a two story house with him in the centre of the blue energy fighting from there and whatever move he did the avatar did as well.
His form flickered and so Jack jumped into the fight as quickly as he could, he looked to the side and saw two heroes rushing over to them, it was Flora and SuperNova, he needed to finish this fight fast.
He hit Horizon in his side with his flail.
Jack watched him stumble before Dazzle shot Horizon in the gap between his armour. He ran forward and caught TJ before he hit the ground and grabbed Dazzles hand as she opened a portal and pulled them into it before closing it immediately.
“That was close wasn’t it Hallow Hunter?”
“Quiet Fauna Fury.”
“Uhhh guys can I-.”
They both responded at the same time.
“Shut it Cosmic Carnage, you know not to overuse your power!”
He mumbled an apology and they all left Dazzle’s room to change into their normal clothes, but before the left TJ disabled the cameras for a few minutes to allow them to sprint to their rooms without being caught.
Jack walked to the corner in his room where the carpet lifted up a little bit and pried it backwards and lifted up the floor board and shoving it into the space there and put the med kit to the side to make space for his costume, he put everything back in place so it wouldn’t be suspicious and added a bean bag over the top of it.
He then brushed his hands over his overalls to make sure there was no dust from the floor boards on him.
He walked out of his room down to dazzles and knocked three times rapidly on the door before doing one slow one to let dazzle know it was him.
She opened the door and took a seat on her bed while TJ was on her spinning chair, Jack shut the door.
“Alright is anyone injured?”
“I just have a scratch on my arm from when I was fighting Horizon before TJ took over the fight.”
“Alright and TJ, what about you?”
“I’m fine just really tired from holding that form up for a while.”
“Okay, and I only have a bruise on my shin from climbing that building, so what I’m thinking our cover story is we were playing outside in a tree Dazzle got scratched by a tree branch and I fell from the tree and hit my shin and you TJ are just exhausted from chasing me during tag, ok?”
They both hummed in agreement and heard the door open from downstairs followed by the talking of the adults. Then TJ spoke up before sun cut in.
“Shit it’s Pizza night tonight and everyone is coming over-.”
“Kids come down stairs we have the pizza!”
“Okay remember the story.”
They both hummed in agreement at Dazzles words before heading down stairs.
They greeted everyone before sitting down on the couch with Jack trying to hide his limp.
Everyone grabbed a few slices of pizza and settled down on the couch while Moon flicked through different channels before landing on the news.
It showed Hallow Hunter trying to lead Blackout away from the fight with Horizon, Fauna Fury and Cosmic Carnage as he jumped from rooftop to rooftop before jumping off the building and running across the street to join in the fight not caring about trying to lead Blackout away. He scaled the building and slammed his shin on the edge of the roof to get away from Blackout, which everyone grimaced at.
Next it showed Fauna Fury Fighting Horizon with her arrows as she couldn’t use her bow in this close proximity without it being slapped away, then Cosmic Carnage joined in the fight with his blue energy avatar as Fauna Fury stood up and loaded her bow and waited for a clear shot when Hallow Harvest hit him with his flail before Fauna Fury shot him with her arrows.
It showed Hallow Hunter looking at the side towards where the two heroes came running along the roof of the buildings before the vigilantes disappeared into a portal and the heroes and villains starting their own fight with each other and Horizon disappearing into the shadows teleporting away with Blackout calling him a coward before frying the technology of the hero’s and teleporting away.
The news then interviewed the hero’s about the fight and it ended with the hero’s promising to capture the villains and vigilantes but the kids couldn’t help but notice Sun, Dahlia, Terra, Monty, Carme and Solar squirm in their seats when the heroes mentioned the vigilantes.
As it was getting late Sun told the kids to go to bed, Dazzle hugged Sun and ran off to bed, TJ hugged moon extra long before following and going up the stairs and Jack hugged Solar and also left the Room but limped a little before leaving and Solar yelled out if he was okay. Which Jack responded with.
“I fell out of a tree when I was playing hide and seek with Dazzle and TJ!”
Before he walked up the stairs.
Solar shrugged because it sounded like something Jack would do and that would explain why Dazzle had a scratch on her and TJ was exhausted.
Then Moon spoke up.
“So crime documentary’s?”
Everyone agreed so they all were looking through them when they landed on Hero’s, Villains and Vigilantes a series on each hero, vigilante and villain in the city. But they all wanted to watch it because they wanted to see what is said about themselves and little did they know the kids were sitting up on the top of the stairs listening in on the documentary with a note book each writing about what each villain, hero and other vigilantes powers, age and skills.
Until they got to Jack and it said age between 12-17 and they stopped writing because they knew it was true so they began to listen in more closely and only stopped when everyone went home.
Then they all knew they had to rewatch that documentary later and more closely, thank god tomorrow was Saturday and their day off.
