Summary
Suguru was seventeen when his life came crashing down.
They were on the topic of his recent pregnancy, Suguru complaining how long it had taken him to get pregnant once he had gotten out of his birth control. Shoko laughed at him, pointing out that she was surprised his birth control had not failed him again.
Suguru waved her comment away, “That’s because the other one was weaker.”
“What ‘other one’? You’ve been taking the same thing since you were 15.”
“There’s no way I’ve been on the same birth control that I had when I was younger. It took months before I was able to get it out of my system for this little one.” He motioned to his bump.
“Listen Geto, I’m only telling you what I know. The birth control you’ve been taking all this time has never failed unless it’s continually missed.”
Suguru refused to allow her explanation, “No Shoko, you’re wrong because then that would mean that someone messed with my birth control for months just to ensure I would end up pregnant."
Suguru was twenty five when he finally understood what it truly meant for his life to come crashing down.
