Work Header

Wheres your suitcase.

Summary:

Secret Agent had a habit of losing track of where he kept his things, it was always small though, maybe he’d leave his coffee half finished on the check in, or forget where he left his gun at times.

But one day, he lost something much more important than that.

Work Text:

Secret Agent stood in front of the coffee machine, twenty more seconds. His sanity was starting to get a little to low for his own liking.

He wished he could add anything but sugar to the coffee, but Dr. Harlow seemed pretty dead set on not wasting a dollar.

Speaking of Dr. Harlow, he was meant to meet up with the doctor after this shift ended, Secret Agent grimaced at the thought of it, he’d much rather spend his time with Head Nurse.

But, Dr. Harlow was his boss after all. A loud dinging sound played, signaling the coffee was finally ready, Secret Agent swiped it, and left the check in.

There was only about one patient left, the shift was pretty much over by now, so there was no harm in going to Dr. Harlow a bit earlier than planned. Better early than late.

Secret Agent walked over to Dr. Harlow’s office, standing in front of the door. He took in one deep breath, resting his hand on the doorknob. Before pushing it open.

Dr. Harlow seemed to be waiting for him, because he was standing right in front of the door.

It smelt as it normally did in his office. The metallic stench of blood made Secret Agent’s nose scrunch up, he hated coming here, so he tried to keep his visits short.

”What do you want Dr. Harlow.” Secret Agent spoke, still standing at the door.

”Your early.”

Secret Agent resisted the urge to roll his eyes,  the stench of the room made his temper much shorter.

Luckily, Dr. Harlow could tell Secret Agent was impatient, “Alright, I’ll just get straight to it then.”

Secret Agent let out a sigh of relief, not taking in another breath, he didn’t exactly love how it smelt.

”Wheres your briefcase.”

Secret Agent froze up, he ahd no clue, he came to the hospital with it one singular time, and it completely canished, but he didn’t really think about it much, he was specifically instructed to never look inside of it, so he had no attachment to whatever was in it.

“that’s a good question isn’t it.”

Dr. Harlow stared at him, not amused at all.

”Ok, I didn’t bring it to work, it’s at home, I don’t bring it in often.”

”Hm, that’s a nice excuse isn’t it.” Dr. Harlow said, the strain in his was becoming alot more clear.

”What? It isn’t an excuse, It’s safer there than here.”

”That’s interesting. But weren’t you also instructed to keep an eye on it at all times?”

”Um…” Secret Agent stifled a scoff, whatever was in that suitcase must’ve been really important for Dr. Harlow to get out of character.

”Where is it Secret Agent.” Dr. Harlow whispered.

“It’s at my house, like I said.” Secret Agent’s ears twitched irritably, this was a waste of time, even if he lost the suitcase, what did it matter. There were about 4 of them he’s seen already, and he worked at a hospital of all places.

Dr. Harlow stood completely still for a moment, before scoffing, “bring it tomorrow, or it’s your head.”

”What does that mean.” Secret Agent murmured, a little more worried now.

”Don’t worry about it. Now go.” Dr. Harlow waved a hand dismissively, Secret Agent wanted to argue, but the stench was getting to him, he quietly exited the room.

But even as he walked back to the check in, a sense of existential dread started to overwhelm him. He needed to get that suitcase back.

Notes:

Wow this is like, really short.
