Barely a second later, the bedroom door swung open. Standing on the threshold was her younger sister, Pink.
“Oh my hearts—thank goodness you’re safe!” Pink exhaled, crossing the room to wrap Red in a tight hug.
Red stood frozen for a second before pulling Pink back to look at her. “Why wouldn’t I be safe? What are you talking about?”
“You haven’t heard?” Pink whispered wide-eyed. “Chloe Charming is on the loose again”
Red’s blood ran cold. The faint copper scent clinging to Chloe’s leather jacket, the dark smear on her jawline, the cocky, predatory smirk she’d practically brought through the window—it all clicked with sickening clarity.
