Summary
Moving in with Colt and Jody had been, largely, a formality.
Dean thinks that was their therapist’s idea, to make it something formal, but what they talk about during their couple’s therapy sessions is not Dean’s business. He's just their ride.
(And their third. Something they valued. Wanted. Loved, or, at least, Colt did, and every time Dean thinks about that, the yawning pit of need and hunger in his core feels… not smaller, certainly. But maybe it aches a little less.
He maybe understands why Colt was so excited about the collar. About the visual proof of being kept.)

For the first time in years, Driver thinks he could have a future. Jody and Colt want him, even as they see deeper and deeper into the animal he is. If he grips them tight, maybe, this time, he can stay.
If only their pasts would leave them behind. If only the history of his botched entanglement with Nino wasn't following him, hadn't infected Colt and Jody and Irene and Benicio. If only he wasn't drowning in his mistakes.
(If only Gail Meyer had stayed in jail--though she may end up being a blessing in disguise.)
