Chapter Text

  It’s the dark of night, Red, the rebellious daughter of the Queen of hearts, snuck around the kingdom inside of Wonderland. Her red hooded outfit with a mask was perfect to blend in with the red walls. The guards keep guard of the castle, all singing and dancing, as most people in this universe are compelled to do. Red vandalizes many things, smashing pots, slashing through her mother’s portrait, her mother being a tyrant, for a reason Red never knew. 

  As she runs from guards, she eventually gets pulled up by a claw, dropping her into a secret tunnel, landing on a comfortable chair, one in the room of one of her friends. Maddox Hatter, looking at her with his arms crossed. His son, Max, passed out on the couch, startled awake by the sound of the tunnel operating and Red’s screaming. The boy of course dressed in his button up and slacks along with his bow tie and accessory glasses, he adjusts his glasses as he wakes up.

  “Red, do you know just how close you were to being caught that time?” Maddox asks

  “Eh, I know you always got my back, Maddox.” Red says, getting more comfortable in her seat.

  “Red! You were out vandalizing the kingdom again?! You could get in some serious trouble!” Max says

  Red rolls her eyes, “There’s no need to be such a goody-goody, Max. It’s only bad if I get caught.” She says

  “And that makes it any better?! The more you do, the more likely you’ll get your head chopped!”

  “I’m her only daughter, she’d never kill me.”

  “Enough you two!” Maddox says, snapping his fingers, getting the attention of the two teenagers.

  Maddox had basically raised both teenagers, so they argued like siblings. Due to Maddox being very smart, good with tech, and his family having powerful magic, Red’s teachings were left to the man while the Queen of Hearts made sure her kingdom stayed under her control. Maddox is also the queen’s adviser. 

  Although most of the ‘studies’ that occurred when the two were young were the two learning to play chess. Maddox mostly let the two be the children they are. Although, while the two were off elsewhere, Maddox used all of his specialties, his smarts, tech skills, and time manipulation magic, to make something that will change everything.

  “I wasn’t going to show this to you two until you were a little older, but I finished it and I’m excited to see your reactions.” Maddox says.

  Maddox brings the two to a covered thing on his desk, removing the cloth, revealing a pocket watch, “This is my greatest invention, a pocket watch that allows you to travel through time. I believe, in the right hands, time can be altered and maybe even your Mother, Red, can change too. Though there are many possibilities, some things might go wrong, others right, you might fix your Mom, or maybe you’ll lose her…” Maddox says, picking up the watch, gliding his thumb over it, “Which is why I won’t be trusting it to you, it will be for emergencies only.” He says, pocketing the watch, “Now, you two need to head off to bed.”

  “Can I get a hug before that?” Red asks, holding her arms out.

  Maddox chuckles, “Now, I’m not falling for that trick, Red.” He says, keeping his hands in his pockets. 

  Maddox presses a button on his sleeve, a tube sucking Red up into her room. The girl screams as she rushes through the tunnel.

  “Are we sure we should trust her with that?” Max asks, worry in his voice.

  “Don’t worry Max, I’m sure everything will be fine.” Maddox says, patting his son on his back, “Now, off to bed!”

  Uma arrives at Auradon Prep, taking Fairy Godmother’s place as headmaster, “I want to invite two teenagers from Wonderland to Auradon Prep.” Uma says, twirling some of her dreads.

  “Who are you thinking?” Fairy Godmother asks

  “Red Ofhearts and Max Hatter, I believe they should be given a chance as much as everyone else. It was a chance that Mal, Evie, Jay and… Carlos, had, and I believe they’d want to give the same to others like them. Let’s do it for them, especially for Carlos.”

  “Yes, of course, I’ll send out their invitations now.”

  Uma wipes a tear that slipped free from her eyes, “Thank you.”

  The invitations flutter away, dancing in the air as they fly toward the entrance to Wonderland.

  Chloe Charming is in the backyard, fencing her older brother, Chad. The boy had been adopted before Chloe was born, but that didn’t make the two any less of siblings, although as Chloe got older, she obviously got better with her swordsmanship, and even though her brother used to not really like the idea of women being in Swords and Shields, his mind was easily changed by Mulan’s daughter, Lonnie, and of course, Mal, Evie and Uma too. Now he and Chloe fence whenever Chad comes over to visit. 

  Chad came to visit after his college Tourney game got rescheduled, so he decided that instead of their Dad training Chloe today, he’d have a playful duel with his younger sister. Maybe he’d try teaching the girl how to play Tourney next, there’s a girls team for that, right?

  King Charming and Cinderella walk over to the two, Cinderella holding a blue box, “Alright you two, you can take a break now.” Cinderella says

  “Alright, Mom.” Chad says, placing his sword back in its sheath, and taking off his mask.

  “You got it, Mom.” Chloe says, also putting her sword away and taking off her mask.

  “Now Chloe, you’ll be attending Auradon Prep soon, and your Mother and I wanted to give you a gift.” King Charming says

  Cinderella holds up the box she was carrying to Chloe, the girl walks over, lifting the top off the blue box, inside is a glass set of platform boots, exactly suited to Chloe’s style. Chloe gasps with amazement, “No way! Thank you so much! I’ll wear them now!” She says with excitement, already changing her shoes.

  “Awe man, why didn’t I get glass shoes…?” Chad pouts

  “You did Chad, you broke them just four hours after you got them.” Charming says flatly.

  “You were technically given five sets, you broke them all.” Cinderella points out

  “Yeah, you’ve never been that great at not breaking stuff, Chad.” Chloe says, slipping on her second boot.

  Chad gasps dramatically, “My whole family is going against me! How dreadful!” He says, placing the back of his hand on his forehead.

  Chloe throws one of her old boots at Chad, he flinches then chuckles, “No need for the drama act, horse face.” She says

  “That could’ve got me in my gourd, mouse face!” Chad complains

  “Ew, don’t call it your gourd…”

  “That’s enough you two, come along now, Chloe, let’s head off to Auradon Prep for your welcome ceremony.” Cinderella says

  “Oh, oh, can I come too? I haven’t seen the place since I graduated two years ago, I kinda miss it.” Chad says

  Charming sighs, “Alright, come along Chad.” He says

  “Yes!” Chad cheers, pumping his fists inward, chasing after his family.

  The Queen of Hearts wasn’t very happy with what happened to her courtyard, and after Red didn’t say what she wanted, Maddox interrupted bringing two letters with him, one letter fluttered ahead, telling the Queen of Red’s invitation to Auradon Prep, after the other opened in front of Maddox himself, telling of Max’s invitation to AP as well. The Queen accepts both inventions, quickly packing Red’s and Max’s stuff and bringing them to the car.

  Red sat in the front with her Mom while the Hatters were set in the back of the car, Max, the scaredy-cat he is, clinging to his Dad and screaming as they broke through the barrier. The Queen chuckles, “Now I had a feeling your son was a scaredy-cat, but I never expected him to scream so high.” The Queen says with a chuckle.

  Maddox adjusts his hat, “Well, anyone would be nervous busting down a barrier, my Queen.” He says

  “Ugh, grow thicker skin.”

  They get their stuff looked through by security at the front gate, as their stuff gets looked through, Red and her Mom start singing ‘Love Ain’t It’, getting let through the gate.

  While walking in, they run into Cinderella, Chloe, King Charming and Chad, Cinderella recognizing the Queen of Hearts, “Bridget?” She asks

  “Ella,” She scoffs, “It’s your Royal Highness now.” The Queen clears up.

  “Of course, you must be very proud.”

  Queen of Hearts and Cinderella stared at each other for a bit, Chloe starting up a conversation with Red, while that happened, Maddox noticed some things, like the way his son was zoned out, staring at a boy who looks to be made of sunshine and rainbows, then how Red and Chloe interacted, he was a smart man with a very good intuition, and he was getting a feeling, but he’ll just keep that to himself for now. The song continues with Maddox and Max close behind.

  They go through to the party area, many others there with their families as well. Harry Hook stood with his younger sister, Hazel Hook, probably due to Captain Hook not wanting to attend, so he did the classic thing of sending the older sibling in his stead. Facilier went with his two kids, Celia and Felix, to the welcome ceremony. Also there were the Smee twins, Squeaky and Squirmy, the twins with their Dad, who was probably watching over the Hooks too.

  On the hero end, there’s Robin Hood with his son, Robbie Hood, along with Luisa Madrigal, her son Luis right next to her, and with this being my fanfic, Luis doesn’t have the same miracle as his mother, he instead can control fire, and lightning, something akin to a fire bender, which also sparked his love of making things from glass, with his gift, he can make his body heat go up to five thousand degrees fahrenheit, and can also withstand temperatures up to ten thousand degrees, so he can basically treat glass blowing like ceramics. This makes him incredibly useful for making things from glass and metal. Max found himself drawn to the boy, he was as smiley and warm as the sun and it just drew the nerd towards him.

  Also in attendance would include Jasmine and Aladdin with their son, Aziz, Tiana and Naveen and their twins, Raymond and James, and many other Disney families with their canonical and non-canonical children. The song ends. The Queen taking out the Looking Glass and showing red the future inside, her and her Mom, ruling the world together. Though Red wants nothing to do with it. Maddox wondered how he fit into that equation, and Max was still staring at Luis. 

  Once everyone was seated, Fairy Grandmother introduced Uma, who also breaks into song. Uma started her speech, though she did notice when the Queen started playing with her cards. Red, Maddox and Max were all alerted when she stood up. “Mom? What are you doing?” Red asks

  “My Queen, might I request you sit back down?” Maddox asks

  “Why? All I’m doing is playing my favorite game.” She says before flaring her cards between her hands and laughing, she then sings, “War.” Cards flying into the air.

  Soldiers falling from the sky, the sky turning red, and everything just turned into chaos in a blink of an eye. Harry was quick to protect Hazel, even if the girl insisted she could defend herself. Celia pulled Felix under a table with her, both doing tarot readings under said table, hoping for good results, Facilier guarding the table they’re under. Smee gets his twins to duck down with him, everyone else ducking as well. Pretty much everyone is just trying to keep their families safe. The exits get blocked by metal cards, Fairy Godmother tries to stop this with her wand, just for it to be cut in half by a card, a sword being held to her neck. Uma restrained after trying to fight back.

  Luisa tries to fight too, but she ultimately gets knocked out, Luis decides to stay by her side after that. Red steps up, “Mom, this is crazy, even for you!” 

  “Crazy that it’s taken this long. I have been waiting years to be invited back to Auradon. So thank you, Red. You finally did something useful.”

  “I should’ve known this was never about me.”

  “Everything I do is for you.”

  “That was my invention, my school, my life.”

  “Someday, you’ll thank me.”

  Red scoffs.

  “Oh! And we’ve already seen the ending! Spoiler alert…” The Queen chuckles, “We win!” She then cackles.

  “Stop it, Bridget, you’re better than this!” Cinderella says as she approaches, getting blocked by guards.

  “Let her through.” The Queen demands

  “This is too far. I know that what happened was hard, but that was ages ago.” 

  There’s a pause, “It feels like yesterday to me.”

  “It was a stupid prank.”

  The Queen scoffs, “Stupid, I could forgive. Humiliating a girl at her first dance, turning me into a monster in front of everyone. Now, that’s just cruel.”

  “You’re right.”

  “You didn’t care then. You were off with your Prince. Ooh, but you will now. You will all show me the respect I deserve! Now kneel.”

  “My Queen, I beg that you reconsider.” Maddox begs, his son hidden behind him, clung to his arm.

   “Shut it, Hatter! I told you to kneel, Ella.”

  There’s a long pause.

  “I will never kneel to a tyrant.” Cinderella says, shaking her head.

  “Yeah! You go Mom!” Chad yells out from the crowd.

  Charming hits his son in the chest with the back of his hand, “Shush.”

  Chloe watches on, proudly at how brave her mother is, but the Queen says, “Wow, she’s just denied a royal order.” She turns to Red, “What do we do about that, darling?” She asks her daughter.

  Red steps forward, “Look, all you have to do is swear allegiance. Is that so hard?” She asks

  “If it means compromising everything I stand for, yes.” Cinderella says

  “Who are you loyal to, Red? Hm? These strangers… or your mother?” The Queen asks, “Now make me proud, for once.” She adds, placing her hand on Red’s face.

  Chloe shakes her head, grabbing onto her father’s sleeve for support, her brother doing something similar, placing his hand on Charming’s shoulder as they watch on with worry. Maddox and Max watching with worry as well, actually pretty much everyone is watching with worry and fear.

  “Come on, Bridget, even your daughter knows it’s wrong. She can’t do it.” Ella says

  With Red being told she can’t do something, she shares a look with her Mom, walking forward with a determined look. “Treason.” Red announces, causing gasps to erupt from the crowd. “She’s guilty of treason.” Red confirms.

  “Exactly right, my dear, and that means off with her head!” The Queen says

  Two lightning strikes go off, and the crowd gasps again, Chloe looks horrified, now holding her Dad’s whole right arm, Chad’s grip on his left shoulder tightening while all three look with horror. “Shoo!” The Queen says with a flick of her hand. Ella being led away by guards.

  “Mom?” Chloe asks

  “Dad, we have to do something!” Chad says

  “No, everything will be fine, don’t worry, don’t worry.”

  “Mom!” Chloe says, getting blocked by axes.

  “I love you three.”

  “Mom!” Chad and Chloe yell, trying to push past.

  Charming tries to help, but he gets restrained, “It’s gonna be okay.” Cinderella insists

  Chloe and Chad are pulled back, “Mom!” The two yell again.

  “Be brave!” Ella yells out as she continues to be pulled away.

  “No. No!” Chloe says as she grabs Chad’s arm, her older brother pulls her into a hug. 

  The camera turns to Red and her Mom, her Mom placing her hand on her shoulder as she looks conflicted, “I knew you had it in you.” She says with a smile.

  Chloe pushes away from Chad’s arms, turning to the two, “Let her go!” She yells, Chad grabs her wrist and holds her back.

  “You’ll be a great queen, after all.” The Queen says, kissing her daughter on the cheek, leaving a heart shaped mark.

  The image from the Looking Glass flashes in Red’s mind, “Look at her, she’s enjoying this.” Aladdin says from the crowd, blocked by a sword.

  “Like mother, like daughter.” Jasmine says

  The image flashes in Red’s mind again, she starts breathing heavily, as she looks to Cinderella’s family, Charming restrained and crying, Chad holding back a crying Chloe as he cries too, Red glances to Ella about to exit with two guards. Red rushes to Maddox, “Maddox, I think this is the right emergency!” She whispers

  “Right, just… Take Max with you.” Maddox says

  “What?!” Max exclaims

  “Go!” Maddox says, handing the watch to Red.

  Red takes the watch and pulls Max with her by the collar of his button up shirt, Luis notices and rushes over, leaving his Mom on a cozy bench, then Chloe says, “Hey, that’s not fair! Let her go!” 

  “Oh, bless your heart.” The Queen says

  “Let her go!” Chloe repeats, breaking from her brother’s grasp and about to draw her sword. 

  Red yells out, “Wait!” Trying to stop her from drawing it, Chad steps back while Max grabs for the watch and Luis grabs for Max, the watch activates and sends all four teens back in time. 

  They stumble apart, looking around them at the now empty courtyard. Flags hung up along with vines of some plant, without the purple flowers, on the grey stone walls. “What just happened? Where did everyone go?” Chloe asks

  “Yeah, it’s not all red skies and thunder anymore either.” Luis adds

  “Woah, it works.” Red says with amazement.

  “Of course it works, everything my Dad makes works.” Max says, dusting himself off.

  “What works? Where are we?” Chloe asks

  “Not where. When.” Red and Max say in unison.

  “Jinx, you owe me a soda.” Max says

  “Dang it!” Red exclaims

  “Bibbidi… Bobbidi… Boo.” Young Fairy Godmother says, her name currently being Fae.

  The group snap their heads toward Fae. Her spell fails, and she tries again, but it sends her book flying toward the four, “No! I wanted to speed-read, not for my reading material to speed off…” Fae complains

  She rushes over to grab her book, noticing the group of four, “Hi, excuse me, where did everyone go?” Chloe asks

  “Every-who?” Fae asks

  “All students of Auradon Prep and their families? They were just here.” 

  “Yeah, along with red skies, lightning and metal cards blocking the exits, I’m pretty sure they were made of Iron because it took me about two thousand degrees Fahrenheit to burn my hand through it…”

  “What’s Auradon Prep? Also there’s no way you can make yourself that hot.” Fae says before her book flies from her hands, sliding away, “I gotta go catch my homework.” She says before running after the book and repeating her classic phrase. 

  “Everybody has heard of Auradon…” Red says

  “And the only one who says Bibbidi-bobbidi-boo is Fairy Godmother.” Chloe says

  “Maybe she’s not a godmother yet?”

  “What do you mean?”

  “Look around you, Fairy Godmother sucks at magic, Auradon doesn’t exist, which means…” 

  “Everyone lost their memories?!” Luis exclaimed

  “No! We’re back in time!” Red and Max yell

  “Jinx, now you owe me a soda.” Red says, pointing at Max.

  “Dang it!” Max says

  “No.” Chloe says, not believing them, then she looks around, noticing the flags, “Wait, no.” She says in disbelief, “How?” She asks

  “This is a Time Machine.” Red says, presenting the watch to Chloe.

  “A Time Machine my Dad built!” Max adds

  “Shush it, Daddy’s boy.”

  Chloe scoffs, “You’re joking.” She says

  “Does it look like we’re joking?” Red asks

  Luis looks at the watch with amazement, “Woah, so cool!” He says with a big bright smile.

  “Why would you take us back in time?” Chloe asks

  “I was only planning on going back with Max, so we could work together and stop my Mom, but you just had to try and pull your weapon, so you tagged along. I have no clue how he got here though.” Red says, pointing to Luis.

  “You grabbed Glasses here pretty roughly, so I thought you were going to hurt him, so I tried to help him.” Luis says

  “Don’t call him ‘Glasses’, his name is Max. Plus those aren’t even prescription glasses, he just likes looking like a nerd.” Red says

  “I don’t look like a nerd!” Max yells

  “Glasses, button up shirt, bow tie, nerd.”

  “Hey! What about my Mom?! You sentenced her to death!” Chloe says, shoving Red, bringing her attention back to her.

  “That might’ve not been my finest moment, but I’m gonna fix it!” Red says

  “How?”

  “I thought the watch would take us back a couple minutes, so I could steal my Mom’s deck of cards, but the fact Maddox wanted me to take Max back with me actually makes sense now, because we ended up going back a couple decades.” 

  “Well, we need to head back and save my Mom.”

  “No, we were sent to this point in time for a reason, and we should figure it out.”

  “Hey, what’s your name by the way?” Max asks Luis.

  “Oh, my name is Luis Madrigal, son of Luisa.”

  “…Can you really make yourself over two thousand degrees?”

  “My gift lets me do many fire related things, but yes, one of them is the ability to make my body temperature go up to five thousand degrees, I can withstand up to ten thousand, and I can manipulate glass like it’s clay.”

  “Can I see?”

  “Your glasses are only cosmetic, right?”

  “Yeah, they’re just cosmetic.”

  “Cool, you don’t mind?”

  “Don’t mind what?”

  While Red and Chloe have broken into a song while they fight over the watch, the boys sat on a bench, Luis talking off Max’s glasses, then he broke them, Max watched as Luis molded his glasses into a cat from the glass, the eyes from the screws and hinges, then a top hat and bow tie from the frames.

  “I mean, it is pretty cute.” Max says

  “I based it off you, but don’t touch it yet, or me, both of us will give you third degree burns, or worse, if we don’t find a fountain or something.” Luis says 

  “Uh, there’s one over there.” 

  “Oh shoot, really? Bring me to it.”

  As the boys head for the nearest fountain, the girls have a conversation.

  “So you really want to stop your Mom?” Chloe asks

  “Yeah, I do.” Red says with a nod.

  “Why? If she takes over, you’ll be the next Princess of Auradon, with that nerdy guy as your advisor.”

  “And if I’m the next Princess of Auradon, it’s a matter of time before she tries to turn me into her mini-me. I’m not gonna let that happen.”

  “Okay, I accept your mission.”

  Red blinks with confusion, “‘Mission’?” She repeats, then looks at Max and Luis over at the fountain, “Hey! Lover boys, let’s get to moving!”

  Max and Luis look at Red, “Sorry, we were just making sure Max didn’t get burnt.” Luis says

  “I think Sir Meowmen is cool enough now.” Max says

  “‘Sir Meowmen’?” Chloe asks with a tilt to her head.

  “Wait, Max, where are your glasses?” Red asks

  “They’re Sir Meowmen now.” Max says

  “What?”

  The two boys walk to the girls, Luis presents the glass cat, “Awe! That’s so cute!” Chloe says

  “Yeah, that is pretty cute, but how did you do that?” Red asks

  “He’s really hot.” Max says

  “I didn’t ask how you felt about him, I asked how he did this.”

  Max stutters as his face brightens.

  “What he meant was, I can manipulate any kind of heat, including my body heat and I melted his glasses into this.” Luis clears up

  “Yes, it was like watching him sculpt with lava.”

  “Woah, well we’re running out of time to save parents, so let’s get a move on!” Red says

  With the figure cool enough, Max pockets it, then they start wandering around the school. The bell rings and the halls fill with familiar and non-familiar faces alike. They head to the front, and Chloe looks at the sign, “Oh! Of course, Merlin Academy. That’s what Auradon Prep used to be called. Before Beast united the kingdoms to create Auradon.” She explains 

  “Interesting.” Max says

  “How do you know all this?” Red asks

  “Well, I love history! Don’t you?” Chloe asks

  “Nuh-uh.” 

  “I honestly prefer art and science, maybe gym. I do work out with my Mom sometimes, even if I can’t lift the things she can, I burned a whole haybail once.” Luis says

  “Nice for you, buddy.” Red says, patting Luis’s shoulder.

  The teens continue through the school, where Chloe notices a poster, “No way! Castlecoming! That’s where my parents fell in love! It’s, like, the biggest event of the year!” Chloe says with a smile.

  “Oh! Now I really want to go!” Luis says

  “Sorry, but we’re busy changing history.” Red says

  “Okay, remember what your Mom said about being humiliated at her first dance? This must be what she meant!”

  “And if someone did some horrible prank on her…”

  “Maybe that’s what turned her into such a terrible dictator?”

  Red scoffs, “That must be why the watch sent us here, it’s before my Mom turns into… My Mom.”

  “Great, now, how do we stop that?”

  “By finding the person who commits the prank that ruins her life.”

  “Oh yeah, and that’s going to be easy…” Max says

  “Hey, win or lose, we can still go to that dance, right?” Luis asks

  Red drags her hand down her face with a groan. Chloe places her hand on Luis’s shoulder, “We’ll see about it.” She says

  “Awesome!” Luis says, “We gotta take photos too!” He says with a smile.

  Max sighs, “You’re lucky my Dad made me a portable camera.” 

  “Your Dad sounds like the coolest guy!”

  “He is.”

  The bell rings, and the group continues to wander through the halls, until they stop, not knowing where they should go, until they hear, “Late for class, you four? Stay right there.” Looking up, they spot Merlin looking down at them from a bridge.

  “Oh my gosh, it’s Merlin!” Chloe says with a big smile.

  Merlin now appears from a doorway and starts walking over to the group, “We’re actually not students, well we are but-” Chloe gets cut off by Max.

  “We want to enroll!” Max says

  “Yeah, we want to enroll here, we’ll fill out any paperwork you need.” Red adds

  “That Castlecoming event looks really fun!” Luis adds

  “Well, I’d need all of your guardians in attendance to have you enrolled.” Merlin says

  “Ah snap, too bad they can’t because they took a vacation, very, very, very, far away!” Luis says

  “Now why would they do that when they need to enroll you four?” Merlin asks with a raised brow.

  “Well the papers they’re sending over won’t arrive until, hmmm, after Castlecoming, so we’ll just have to wait for those.” Max says

  “Yeah, with how far they are, even magic mail will take a while…” Red says

  “How peculiar… Eh, I can just deal with you four later, it’s quite clear you four just want to learn and go to a dance, so no worries as of now. I founded this Academy to be an educational institution for all, but, uh, you must know that we have a no-swords policy in the classroom.” He says, using his wand to make Chloe’s sword disappear, “I’ve transported it to the Stardust Room, which will be the dormitory for the girls, you boys on the other hand will have the Moonlight room. I’ll settle you four after school, but first let’s get you to class. I teach Honors Alchemy in my office, right this way.” He says, leading the girls forward, then he turns around, “No, that’s… Sorry, it’s this way. This way. Follow me.” 

  All four teens follow Merlin.

  “Marvel in these archways…” Merlin starts, as he guides his hands towards the halls.

  “What was that?” Chloe whispers to the other three.

  “What was what?” Red asks

  “The Auradon Code of Conduct forbids lying, especially to teachers.” 

  “Good thing this isn’t Auradon yet then huh?” 

  “Plus, you were about to let the cat out of the bag about how we’re from the future, to the Merlin, he’d very likely either think we’re crazy, or take my father’s watch from us and we’d be stuck here forever.” Max says

  “I mostly did it so I could go to that dance, plus, my Tio Camilo didn’t teach me how to lie for nothing.” Luis says with his arms crossed with confidence.

  “There are no swords in these stones.” Merlin says with a chuckle to his voice as they approach the doors of his office, “Here we are. Um, key, key. Where’s the key?” He asks before he remembers, “Ah,” he then pulls the key from behind his ear with a grunt, “Yeah.” He unlocks the door, “Here we go. Right. That’s it.” He mutters as the door unlocks and opens itself, “Let’s do alchemy!” He exclaims as they enter.

  “So, plants are still alive, flasks are bubbling, bubbling, bubbling…” He continues muttering to himself before turning around with a book, “Alright class, let’s get started. We have four new students here today, so let’s at least pretend this is an honors class. Um, Bridget, Ella, Maddox, and Mirabel, please split up and help these four get sorted, won’t you?” He asks

  Red looks at the very pink and cheerful girl and is surprised to know that’s her Mom, “Bridget?” She asks as she approaches the table.

  “Mom?” Chloe asks, which gets a confused look from Ella, “Ah, I mean, uh, Ella, hi, nice… Nice to meet you!” Chloe stumbles with her words.

  Ella chuckles, “Okay, new girl, let’s dive in.” She says

  Chloe smiles softly at Ella.

  Red looks at Bridget with disbelief, “So, wait, you’re Bridget?” She asks

  “Mmm-hmm.” Bridget hums with a chuckle.

  “Bridget from Wonderland?” 

  “Yup, that’s me.”

  Max approached the table that Maddox was sat, Maddox looked at him, “Well that’s definitely a look. Add a set of glasses and you’d completely look like a nerd.” He teased

  “I had a set of accessory glasses, but they, uh, broke.” Max says

  “I see, well, let’s get started, alchemy partner.” Maddox says

  Luis walks up to Mirabel’s work area, “You’re pretty good at this, aren’t you?” He asks

  “I wouldn’t be in honors otherwise.” Mirabel says, adjusting her circler green framed glasses.

  Luis chuckles, “Right, where do we start?”

  Merlin uses his wand to start a fire in the fireplace, over to Chloe and Ella, Ella grabbing some sort of pod, “Okay, so…” she starts, tilting the pod over to start squeezing the inside into the cauldron, causing Chloe to gag.

  “Oh, wow, those are gross.” Chloe says

  “Come on, these pods don’t drain themselves.”

  Over to Red and Bridget, “Could you pass the griffin-claw please? I gotta stir this up.” Bridget says, Red hands her the claw, and Bridget looks at her outfit, “I love your outfit, by the way.” She adds

  “Why are you talking like that?” Red asks

  Bridget chuckles, “Like what?”

  “You just sound different…”

  “I’m not quite sure I…”

  “No, it’s me, I’m… You’re… This is all just a lot.”

  Over to Maddox and Max, “So, what made you want to come here?” Maddox asks

  “Oh, my Dad just wanted me to go, so I did.” Max says with a shrug.

  “Cool, cool, could you pour that into the cauldron while I mix it?”

  “Yeah, sure.”

  Over to Mirabel and Luis, “Could you put on that oven mitt and pour the hot liquid in as I stir, please?” Mirabel asks

  “Yeah, sure.” Luis says, grabbing the hot liquid with his bare hands, much to Mirabel’s horror.

  “What the heck?! I told you to use the mitt! That liquid could give you four degree burns!”

  “I’m fine, start stirring.”

  “No! You should use the mitt!”

  “I said I’m fine.”

  “Use the mitt!”

  “Fine Tia!” Luis says, grabbing the oven mit, sliding it on then grabbing the liquid again, “Better?!” He asks

  Maribel blinks, “Did you just call me ‘Tia’?” She asks

  “Uh, just a slip up, I have a pretty annoying Tia.” Luis says with a chuckle.

  “Okay, anyway…”

  Back to Chloe, she picks up a pod, “Sorry, I just… Uh, I never had to…” she squeezes the pod, recoiling as it gushes, “Oh! Ew!” She complains

  Ella tilts her head, “You okay?” She asks

  “Yeah. Sorry, I just…” 

  “Keep the chatter down, please.” Merlin request from his desk.

  “You’re not what I was expecting.” Chloe says

  Ella snaps her head to her, “You never worked with someone who’s not royalty?” She asks

  “Oh no.”

  “Worried a commoner might rub off on you?”

  “No!” Chloe exclaimed as she squeezed the pod in her hands again.

  Chloe and Ella fall into an awkward silence.

  “You must’ve gone to a school before this, how many kids were there?” Bridget asks

  “Uh, one, technically two, homeschooled.” Red says

  “I was homeschooled too! Until I came here. So, you know, don’t worry, you’ll get used to it.” Bridget says with a smile, “Do you want a hug?” She asks, putting her arms out.

  “Not really a hugger.” Red says, putting her hands up.

  Bridget chuckles, then there’s a short pause as she thinks, “I’ve got the perfect thing to make you feel better! Oh! I made them this morning!” She says, turning around and grabbing something.

  “Keep those flasks bubbling, please!” Merlin yells out

  Bridget holds up a tray of cupcakes, “Fabulous Flamingo-Feather Cupcakes!” She presents with a chuckle.

  “Flamingo feathers?” Red asks

 “Don’t worry, they don’t bite. Not like those gingerbread men I made last spring.” She says with a giggle, “I won’t be using that cookbook again. Try one.” 

  Red takes a bite of a cupcake and her nails turn pretty pink thanks to the magic of the flamingo feather, “These are fabulous!” Red says

  Red goes to grab another, but Bridget stops her with an, “Ah, ah, ah,” she holds the tray away, “Just one, or there can be side effects…” she says, putting the cupcakes away, “Now, ready to tackle the assignment?” She asks

  “Why are you so nice?” 

  Bridget chuckles, holding Red’s upper arm and looking her in the eyes, “You get more with sugar than salt.” She says before saying, “Come on.” And they continue with their assignment.

  As Maddox and Max were working together, Maddox noticed that Max would constantly keep putting his hand in his pocket, so he turned to him, “What you got in your pocket?” He asks

  Max startles, “Oh, um, just this, that guy over there gave it to me.” He says, taking the glass figure, named Sir Meowmen,  from his pocket and pointing to Luis.

  Maddox gives an intrigued hum, “That’s cute, you into the guy?” 

  “Huh?!” Max exclaims, his face feeling warmer.

  “Trust me man, there’s nothing wrong with it, just wondering.”

  “I only met him today!”

  “There are plenty of relationships around here that started as love at first sight.”

  “Just shush it!”

  “Alright, alright.”

  “Alright, next we need to-WHAT ARE YOU DOING?!” Maribel exclaimed

  “Huh?” Luis asks, touching another thing she thinks he shouldn’t.

  “Are your hands numb or something?! Stop touching burning hot stuff!”

  “It’s fine, I can handle it!”

  “Oh my gosh, you’re crazy… Let’s just finish this assignment…”

  During break, another song starts, one upbeat and started by Bridget as she gives out her cupcakes, everyone who takes one has a piece of their outfit turned pink, going around introducing people the four knew, but it’s different seeing them young.

  First is Fae, she eats a cupcake and her wand turns pink, next is Jasmine and Aladdin, who say to call them ‘Jaladdin’, which all four of the future group cringe at. Both take a cupcake with parts of their outfits turning pink. Charming shows up next on his skateboard, he rides over, takes a cupcake and his board turns pink mid kick flip. Red kinda into him until she’s reminded that’s Chloe’s Dad, immediately getting the ick. There are many other additional interactions too, like with Tiana, which turns her apron pink.

  We know Red’s nails changed, but I’ll add that Chloe’s gloves turn pink, along with the streaks of purple in Max’s hair and the pattern on Luis’s vest, and probably a few patches of Ella’s patchwork dress. Along with details in Maddox’s hat and Mirabel’s glasses.

  “So you’re friends with everyone?” Red asks

  “Oh gosh, no, my only friend is Ella. But, with time, and a few more treats, they will be!” Bridget says cheerfully

  With that, the villains emerge, which I will be changing up a bit, Hook shows up first, then Morgie, then Uliana, then Hades, then Maleficent. Their designs are a bit different too, only a little though, like Hades having more of a flowing flame-like mullet that goes a little past his shoulders. Morgie has some golden elements mixed in, like golden bracelets and a golden necklace. Hook is fine, so is Uliana and Maleficent, I just can’t see Uliana as a leader over Hades and Maleficent, plus, who says Maleficent can’t be a little cringe, giving off mean alt girl.

  When they approach, Maleficent looks at the cupcakes, “Why thank you,” she says taking one, “For all of them.” She adds before snapping her fingers, Uliana’s tentacle lifting the cupcakes above their heads. “Flamingo feathers are rare, right?”

  “Hey! Give them back!” Ella says

  “Sorry, she doesn’t speak peasant girl.” Uliana says

  “I do love your outfit though, it’s just so… Put together.” Maleficent says before ripping the left shoulder, and stepping back with a light chuckle.

  Uliana, Hook and Morgie all laugh, “Awe, look at me, I’m Bridget and I need to bribe people with treats to make friends, because I’m such a loner.” Uliana mocks, then the three laugh again.

  “Hey! The Code of Conduct prohibits theft and bullying!” Chloe says, pointing a wooden paddle at the villains.

  Uliana dramatically places her hand on her head, Maleficent chuckles, Hades stands closer to her, and Hook pushing the wooden paddle to the side with his hook, “Easy, lass. I dunno where you come from, but here, we don’t fight until after school. Meet me then.” He says, getting real close to Chloe.

  Chloe scoffs, pushing Hook away, “You wouldn’t stand a chance.”

  Hook snickers.

  Red confronts Maleficent, “Listen here, goat head, you better give back those cupcakes.”

  “Woah… All I wanted were the feathers, you can have the rest.” Maleficent says, holding her hand out as Uliana hands her the feathers, then drops the rest of the cupcakes on the floor in front of Red.

  Maleficent goes to eat the feathers, but stops when Bridget yells out, “Wait! That’s too many!” 

  Maleficent chuckles, hands one to Hades, then eats the rest herself, all that happens to Hades is that his hair turns pink, Maleficent on the other hand… “You shouldn’t have done that…” Bridget says, worried and disappointed.

  First to change are her eyelashes, but then she starts squawking, her horns change, then her hair, then she gets the face of a flamingo, she squawks angrily at Bridget. There’s a chase sequence that ends with Maleficent in a small pond, Hades helping her out while she raves about how she’ll destroy Bridget.

  “Who wants to bet she’s the one who pulls the prank?” Red asks

  “Oh it’s definitely her.” Max agrees

  “No doubts about it.” Luis also agrees

  “I don’t know…” Chloe says

  “Tell Bridget this isn’t over!” Maleficent shrieks as she walks away with Hades, her boyfriend attempting to dry her with his flame powers.

  The other three stare at Chloe, “Okay, maybe you’re right…” she says

  “How’s Mallie doing? I feel terrible! I should go apologize.” Bridget says

  Red stops her as Ella says, “Don’t!” Bridget looks at Ella, “She did it to herself, and it serves her right.” Ella looks at the other four, “She’s always bullying us…” she says

  “Ella, yo, that was amazing.” Charming says as he walks up, making a large smile form on Ella’s face. “You all bested Maleficent and her crew! I don’t think anyone’s ever done that before, and that makes you braver than I am, and I’m a prince. Though I don’t really like to push the royal angle.”

  “Yet you always find a way.” Ella points out.

  “You’re the new kids, right? I’m Charming.” Charming introduces

  “That’s debatable.” Ella says

  “And you guys picked the right time to show up, because it’s Castlecoming week!” 

  Bridget giggles with excitement, Red and Chloe share a look, Luis and Max look at each other too, “Castlecoming is an outdated, elitist tradition.” Ella says

  “Does that mean you’re not…?” Charming starts

  “Squeezing into a super-expensive dress and painful shoes? No thanks.”

  Charming scoffs, “Well, um, if you change your mind,” he swoops his hair from his face, “I’ll see you there.” He finishes with a smile before walking away.

  “Hey, Ella. He seemed pretty interested in your plans for the festival. Was I sensing some chemistry?” Chloe asks

  “Uh, no.” Ella says, getting a knowing glance from Bridget, “Okay, yeah, everyone loves him, and sure he’s gorgeous and he seems nice, but you know how royalty is. Well, except for you, B. You’re different.” Ella finishes

  “I just wish someone was that interested in going with me. Everyone already has plans, so…”

  Ella grows a smile, “Bridget, will you go to Castlecoming with me?”

  “But, you just said…”

  “I despise everything it stands for. But if we go as friends, maybe it won’t be totally awful.”

  Both girls chuckle with excitement, “We have to try on dresses right now!” Bridget twirls into Ella’s arms, “We only have two days!”

  “I can’t, I have to go back home, but, maybe later.”

  “Okay!” Both chuckle again and hug, “See you later, bye!” 

  “Bye.”

  “I’m gonna find the perfect dress!” Bridget says as she skips away.

  Ella starts walking away, “I better get home.” She says as she leaves.

  The group starts walking, “Huh, two days until my Mom gets pranked…” Red says

  “And two days left to get tickets, I gotta buy some!” Luis says

  “Do you even have coin for that?” Max asks

  “Yeah, right here.” Luis says, pulling a large sack of coins from somewhere.

  “Where in the feathers were you keeping that?!” 

  “A Madrigal never shares their secrets.”

  “Boys, stay on track, we don’t have much time!” Chloe says

  “I just… I can’t believe my Mom used to be so sweet…” Red says before dragging her hand over the keys of a piano.

  Chloe rushes over to stop the piano from ringing for too long, “Tell me about it. My Mom’s supposed to be the most perfect, gracious queen ever. Ella seems like she can’t even stand royalty…”

  “Eh, my Dad was just as I expected him to be.” Max says, shrugging as he looks at the music sheets.

  “My Tia’s a bit more annoying, like she kept yelling at me for trying to burn myself, when I can’t burn myself.” Luis says, strumming the strings of a violin.

  “It’s not like she knows that, Luis. You probably just looked like a dumb Himbo.” Max says

  “Don’t call me a Himbo, please.”

  “Craziest thing of all of this…” Red starts

  “Our Moms were best friends…” Red and Chloe speak at the same time.

  “Oh! Oh!” Chloe snaps her fingers, “You owe me a soda!”

  “You didn’t say ‘jinx’, it doesn’t count.”

  “Dang it…”

  “Okay, getting back on track, what’s the plan on stopping Maleficent from pranking Red’s Mom?” Max asks

  “First, we have to figure out what she’s planning, bugs in Bridget’s dress, or… Or something with snakes? So many good options.” Red says before gliding her hand across chimes, Chloe stepping in to stop them.

  “So we need to find out more about Maleficent and her crew… You think my Mom might know?” Chloe asks

  “Maybe… Plus, she’s the closest to Bridget. So, she’ll know her weaknesses and exactly how to stab her in the back.” Red says before banging on a drum.

  In the back, Luis starts playing the piano, Chloe looks at Red, “You’ve got some serious intimacy issues…”

  Red shrugs with a hum, she then looks at Luis and Max, “Alright, enough playing piano, Luis, we gotta head out.”

  “You girls have fun dealing with your Moms, Max and I are going to buy tickets and outfits!” Luis says with a big smile.

  “Luis, I don’t think we’re going to that dance…” Max says

  “Castlecoming doesn’t exist when we’re from, and I want to experience it! Plus, you already mentioned you have a camera!” 

  “And what happens when our parents find the photos?”

  “They won’t, come on!” Luis says before pulling Max along with him.

  While Red and Chloe went over to Cinderella’s house, Luis took Max with him to buy tickets, lucky the coin didn’t change after the conversion to Auradon. When the girls found the boys again, “Come on you two, we have to see what Maleficent is planning!” Chloe says

  “But, I was about to go buy everyone some outfits, I already bought the tickets.” Luis says

  “I tried to stop him, but he’s super stubborn…” Max says, defeated.

  “Doesn’t matter, let’s go!” Red says, grabbing Max by the wrist, Chloe grabbing Luis’s wrist, rushing them.

  They make it to the group’s hideout, the four hiding behind a wall while Maleficent sings about getting revenge, Hook suggests making her walk the plank, Mallie thinks about pricking her with a thousand thorns, Hades and Morgie insist on burning her to a crisp, but then Uliana offers up the best option, she asks Hades to light something for her, then she asks for advice, “Calling all the evil spirits from the waters you loom, show me a recipe fit for her doom!” Uliana starts

  “Toxically sweet with a side of pure spite.” Hades adds

  “A perfect revenge that has a bite.” Maleficent adds

  The crew watches as an image of a cookbook rises from the fire, the Sorcerer’s Cookbook, Hook clicks his tongue, “A cookbook?” He asks

  “Just wait, there’s gotta be more to it.” Uliana says

  “It looks like a recipe for frosting.” Hades points out

  “A frosting that will turn the person that eats it into a monster.” Morgie adds

  Maleficent chuckles evilly, “Perfect, she made me a flamingo, I make her a monster, and she’ll never expect it, because it will look like just a plain old cupcake.” She says with a grin.

  They all leave, heading off to plan on how to get that cookbook, the future four make their way out too, sure Max and Chloe both nearly lose a foot to purple alligators, but Luis just gets them to back off by manipulating green torch fire and amplifying it to a blow torch amount of heat, everyone getting away safely. Red had pulled Chloe into her arms to get her away from the alligators, both girls looked at each other before pulling away with red faces. Luis helps Max up, and they stand in the dark forest as they talk.

  “We can still stop those guys before Castlecoming, but that means…” Chloe starts

  “We’ve just got to find that book.” Red finishes

  “I’m getting sick of this adventure already…” Max says

  “Don’t worry guys, after we get that book, we get to go to that dance!” Luis says

  “You’re really persistent on this, aren’t you?” Red asks

  “Well yeah, it’s not like we’re on a time limit to get back home, that watch can make it like we were never even gone. So why not have some fun before we’ll have to hide it away forever.”

  “Know what, I feel like a dance after all this is actually perfect.” Max says

  “We shouldn’t mess with time too much though…” Chloe says

  “Us being here for like, three days, isn’t really going to affect much…” Max says

  “Enough chatter, we need to fetch that book before they do!” Red says

  They then all run back to the school.

  In the Stardust room, Chloe and Red talk about their Moms and how they’ve changed, then decide they should ask Bridget about the cookbook. They then went to sleep.

  Meanwhile in the Moonlight room, where the boys are, they were kinda just hanging out, bored without video games. So Luis brought up the topic of outfits, slowly both boys falling asleep, talking about what each of the four would wear to the dance.

  In the morning, Bridget is practicing her card tricks and dance for Castlecoming in her room as she listens to music, still just in her pajamas, when Red and the rest knock on her door, she takes her headphones off, walking over.

  “Oh! Hey! I was just practicing my dance for Castlecoming! And though boys shouldn’t really be in the girls'dorms, but I won’t tell, come in.” Bridget says, letting the four in her room. “I call my dance, ‘the shuffle of love’!” She says before making her cards fly from one hand to the other, spinning, then sending the cards flying between her hands again. 

  She puts on her headphones, playing the song again, and showing off her super fun dance that includes a lot of card tricks, until she messes up the last bit, sending cards flying onto the floor, “I keep messing up that last bit.” She says with a chuckle, “But it’s okay, I’ll get there.” She stops her music again, sliding her headphones back to her shoulders, “Let me clean this up real quick…”

  The four look around Bridget’s room, “Wow, your room, it’s so wonderful.” Chloe says

  “Oh, yeah, thanks. It reminds me of home.” Bridget says

  “Where I come from, there’s a rule against all of this.” Red says

  “Can I look at your cook books?” Max asks

  “Yeah sure.” Bridget says, then turns back to Red, “Who’s against fun?” 

  “Our Queen, AKA, my Mom.” Red says

  “Oh…” 

  Max reads through the cookbook, Luis looks over his shoulder, Max goes to turn the page but Luis stops him, “Hold on, I’m not done reading it.” 

  Max looks at Luis, “What, you want to memorize this one or something?” He asks

  “…Kinda.”

  Back to Red, “She also hates my style, the way I think, you know, everything about me.” She says

  “I’m sorry, Red. I can’t imagine having a Mom like that.” Bridget says

  “She’s the only one I’ve ever known.”

  “Well, if I was your Mom, I’d love to have a daughter who thinks for herself.” Bridget says, rubbing Red’s arms before touching her face, walking back to finish picking up her cards.

  Red looks to Chloe, who gives her a, ‘who would’ve thought’ type look. She then looks to the boys, both looking at her, Luis shrugs and Max gives a ‘That’s different’ smile with a hum as he continues looking through the cookbook in his hands. Red then notices The Looking Glass on a nearby wardrobe. She picks it up asking, “Is that The Looking Glass?” 

  “Oh, yeah. You’ve heard of it?” Bridget asks

  “Uh, I’ve read about it.” 

  Max closes the cookbook in his hands and puts it back, walking over to Red. “It was a gift. It’s been in the Wonderland royal line for ages.” Bridget says

  “What does it do?” Luis and Chloe ask in unison.

  “Jinx! You owe me a soda!” Luis says

  “Dang it!” Chloe says

  “Okay?” Bridget says with a chuckle, “It shows you the future.” 

  “Have you looked?” Red asks, holding The Looking Glass up to her.

  “No, no, no, no. I love surprises. I mean, why would I wanna spoil the future? I’m sure it’ll be wonderful!” She says before chucking and doing a twirl.

  “Anyway, we were hoping you might be able to help us find a cookbook.” Red says

  “Yeah. Well, then you’ve found the right girl! Your guy friends were already looking through a few, but I mean, I have every cookbook ever.” 

  “Even the Sorcerer’s cookbook?”

  “Hmm. Let me look.” Bridget says, putting her music back on and looking through her books.

  Red opens the Looking Glass, “What are you doing?” Chloe asks

  “Checking on how things are going back home.” Red says

  “Oh, let me see!” Luis says

  “Don’t push!” Max says

  The Looking Glass shows Charming and Chad being shoved to their knees in front of the Queen, “It’s been done.” She says, tossing Cinderella’s glass shoes in front of the two, the shoes shattering, “I’m not so funny anymore, huh Charming?” Both boys are distraught, both saying no, while the Queen laughs. In the back, Luisa is restrained, and looks like she’s completely given up, along with Maddox standing in the back, holding his hat to his chest. Red snaps the Looking Glass shut, “Okay, so… Not good.” She says

  Chloe was silent, Red rubs her arm. “I’ve never seen my Mom so defeated before.” Luis says, sadly.

  “And of course my Dad is just watching.” Max adds

   Bridget fishes looking through her books, she takes her headphones off, “That’s weird, I thought I had them all. Well, except the banned ones.” She says

  “Where would we find the banned ones?” Red asks

  “We don’t. They’re dangerous. That’s why Principal Merlin locked them up in his office. And enchanted them so no troublemakers can get their hands on them.” 

  Red and Chloe share a look, then they look at the boys and nod.

  After dragging the boys to the Stardust room undetected, the four start their chat. “Now that we know where the book is, I think the solution is clear.” Chloe says

  “For sure. There’s only one option.” Red says

  “Yeah, we need to tell Principal Merlin, we need to come clean, he can help us.”

  “Woah, woah woah woah, that would compromise our dance plans!” Luis says

  “Help us? You think he’ll just hand over a banded book just because we asked him?” Red asks

  “Do you have a better idea?” Chloe asks

  “Yeah, we do it ourselves, we break in and steal it.” 

  “Of course the rebel vandal’s plan is theft, how like you, Red.” Max says

  “It’s not like you’d have a better plan, Max. Plus, it’s what Maleficent and her crew is going to do. Now, who wants to do Chloe’s plan raise your hand.” Red says

  Only Chloe raises her hand, “And who wants to do mine?” Red asks, raising her hand, Luis raises his hand too, Max keeps his hand down. “Max, you have to pick a plan.” Red says

  “Both suck.” Max says

  “Max!”

  “Fine! Let’s do some breaking and entering so your Mom doesn’t become a tyrant dictator!” Max says

  “Are you guys crazy?! This is the principal’s office we’re talking about here! It’s enchanted, and Castlecoming is tomorrow! We only have one try and you want to steal?!” Chloe asks

  “Your plan is to go tell a teacher! A teacher that might take away our Time Machine and get us stuck here! You’re too much of a goody-goody!” Red says

  “I’d rather be a ‘goody-goody’ than a bad person!” 

  “I just want to go to a dance…” Luis pouts

  “I just want to get this over with…” Max says before falling back flopping onto the bed he’s sitting on.

  “Know what? You sound like your Mom!” Red says

  “Thank you!” Chloe says

  “And how’d that turn out for her?!” 

  “Red?!” Max yells, sitting up.

  “Oooo…” Luis says

  “You know, you are evil, just like your Mom.” Chloe says

  With that, the image of evil Red from the Looking Glass flashes in Red’s mind again. “Yeah, maybe.” Red says, defeated, “But, I’m gonna get us out of here.” She says with confidence before walking out of the room.

  “Red, wait!” Max says, chasing after her.

  Luis shrugs at Chloe, “Sorry.” He says before chasing after the other two, leaving Chloe to think.

  Chloe goes to Ella, where she learns a good lesson from her, about how she needs to get her hands dirty and all that. You know, sometimes a a bad dead for a good reason is good? I’m pretty sure you’ve seen the movie, you know how this bit goes, I don’t feel like retelling it.

  Anyway, before nightfall, Luis made the two with him try out clothes. Red picks out a nice red and black outfit, one that fits her style perfectly, but Red and Luis do their best to try and get Max to dress out of his comfort zone. They pick a purple suit with a black button up shirt, teal bow tie and a matching purple top hat. Luis picks a navy blue suit with golden accents and a white button up shirt, they then get to picking a dress for Chloe, picking out a blue and silver dress, just a whole look that screamed Chloe. Red looks at the dress, “You think it’ll suit her?” Luis ask

  “Yeah, I’m sure it will.” Red says with a nod.

  “Good, I hope she likes it.”

  “I hope so too.”

  Max steps out of the changing room in his new outfit, “Are we sure this suits me?” He asks

  “Oh, one hundred percent, Max. Especially the hat, Hatter.” Red says

  “Yeah, I have to admit, the hat is pretty cool.” Max says, adjusting his hat in the mirror.

  Red looks at Luis, the boy staring at Max, she chuckles, “You’re drooling, Lover Boy.” She says, nudging him in the arm.

  Luis startles, clearing his throat, “Let’s go check out!” He says

  “You heard him, change back into your nerd fit and let’s head out.” Red says

  “It’s not a nerd fit…” Max mutters as he closes the door to the changing room.

  That night was a stormy night, rain pouring down hard. Maleficent and her crew were sitting under a tree, Hook looking through a Spyglass before announcing, “Coast is clear.” 

  Maleficent stops them from continuing forward, “Not yet.” She says

  Right then, Red and the boys show up in black raincoats, Mallie looking on with a grin. Red and the boys get in, Red using one of her bobby-pins to attempt to unlock the door. The door behind the three opens, startling them, but it turns out to just be Chloe. Red straightens up, “What are you doing here?” She asks

  “Getting my hands dirty.” Chloe says

  Red scoffs, “You’re going to break into the Principal’s office?”

  “It’s for a good cause.”

  “Oh, and you’re already justifying your crimes? Love it.”

  “Oh my gosh, stop flirting, we need to get that book…” Max complains

  “We’re not flirting!” Red and Chloe say in unison, their cheeks slightly red.

  “Jinx! You owe me a soda!” Chloe says

  “Dang it, you got me!” 

  “Okay, okay, we all owe each other sodas, now can we break in already? I can feel the pit in my stomach growing larger!” Luis insisted

  “Yeah, I’m pretty nervous about this too.” Max says

  Red manages to pick the lock and the four enter the office, looking around and spotting the bookshelf. Red and Chloe shutting the doors behind them.

  “Morgie, you’re Look Out, if you see Merlin, give a signal.” Maleficent demands

  “Oh! Should I do a wolf howl? Or like a dog howl?” He asks

  “Just alert us.” Maleficent snaps

  Everyone, but Morgie, heads for the Principal’s office.

  “I can do different dogs!” Morgie says

  Red climbs the ladder on the bookshelf, “I’ll look up here.” She says

  “Oh, it’s right there! The one with the skeleton fingers on the spine!” Chloe points out

  Red stretches, reaching for the book, the enchanted owls activate, making swords float up. “Ugh, move her closer! This ladder moves, right?” Max asks, slightly annoyed.

  Luis notices the floating swords, “Um, guys…”

  “What Luis?” Red asks

  “Flying swords!”

  “What?”

  Red looks to her left, “Oh boy.” She says, sliding down the ladder, dodging a sword.

  “Run!” Red yells

  “Move!” Chloe says

  Chloe starts blocking the swords with her sword, Luis grabs a few swords, melting them to metal puddles, “Luis! What are you doing?!” Max yells

  “We can blame Hades!” He says

  “Are we sure you’re an HK?” Red asks

  One of the enchanted owls hoots, flying up, “Oh no! The owl! It’s going to tell Merlin!” Chloe says

  “Then we better get that book, or all of this would’ve been for nothing!” Max says

  Red starts hitting swords away with a metal coat rack, before it’s hit from her hands. Red goes up stairs, “Red! Get the book! We got this handled!” Chloe says. Red swings over the chandelier for the book, but another owl stops her, causing it to land on the floor. She lands on the table and the owl helps lead the swords to red, Chloe grabs a shield and tosses it to Red. She knocks out the owl, and the swords, melted and unmelted, all disappear.

  “They’re disappearing.” Chloe points out

  “Heck yeah! High five!” Luis says, holding up his hand for Max to high five.

  “Uh, you’re not still burning hot, are you?” Max asks

  Luis looks at his hands, “Uh…” he chuckles, “Let’s wait until I cool off in the rain…” 

  Red goes to grab the book, but the owl wakes up, summoning a magic knight. “Red! Watch out!” Chloe says

  The owl grabs the book while the knight slashes at red, “The owl! It has the book!” Red says

  “Oh, I am so melting that owl!” Luis says

  Luis starts jumping for the owl, he manages to grab it, and he burns his hands into the owl, which doesn’t let the owl be able to get out of his grasp, he swings the owl, and it lets go of the book, the book slides across the floor as he smushes the owl and tosses it into the fire place. “Push the table in front of it, I’d end up burning the table!” Luis says

  The other three press the table against the fireplace, “Okay… Are we really sure he’s an HK?” Red asks again

  The door opens, “What a performance.” Maleficent says with a chuckle and a slow clap, “Well… We’ll be taking that!” She says, snapping her fingers, Uliana picks up the book with one of her tentacles, handing it to Maleficent.

  “Hey! Get your hooves off of that!” Red says, she starts walking forward, “I don’t think so.” She says before being pulled back by Chloe.

  “It’s over, they’re too strong.” Chloe says

  “Too strong, my butt.” Luis says, cracking his knuckles.

  Max grabs Luis by the hood of his raincoat, “Don’t.” He says

  “Okay.” Luis says, quickly folding.

  Maleficent rolls her eyes before she twists the skull shaped lock, “Let’s see what this book's got.” She says with a grin, Hades places his hand on her shoulder, looking in, while Hook and Uliana look in around them. Once Mallie tries opening the book, the four are frozen by the enchantment on the book. With that, the book flew from her hands to the other end of the room, relocking itself.

  The other four start laughing at the VKs, who are really only able to move their eyes and somewhat talk. “Hex yeah!” Red cheers

  “Wow, they’re like statues!” Luis says

  “How did you know that was going to happen?” Red asks

  “Bridget said the books were enchanted.” Chloe says

  “Merlin did it so the books wouldn’t end up in the wrong hands, I remembered too, that's why I stopped Luis.” Max says

  Red picks up the book, “Oh, right… Then maybe one of you guys should open this then. These are definitely the wrong hands.” She says

  “No, you do it.” Chloe says, pushing the book back to Red.

  Red scoffs, “Um… I’m evil like my Mom, remember?” 

  “You’re nothing like your Mom, Red. You’re your own person. You’re a good person.”

  “No… Chloe I lie, cheat, steal, and vandalize stuff, I’m a lost cause.”

  “Well, you also just stopped a gang of bullies, and risked your life to save mine.”

  “Well, Luis did some life saving too, all Max did was hide like a damsel in distress.”

  “Hey!” Max yells

  “That’s beside the point, right now, you’re also saving Auradon. I thought that being good was about following the rules. But turns out, it’s a lot more complicated. You do so much good, Red. I’m sorry it took me so long to see it.” Chloe smiles, “You got this.” She insists

  The girls share a nod.

  Luis whispers to Max, “They’d be cute together.”

  Max chuckles.

  They all watched with hope as Red clicked the skull lock, the skeleton hands disappearing in golden glitter, everyone chuckling with relief when Red opened the book without any side effects. “Told you,” Chloe says

  Red closes the book and smiles at Chloe.

  “Oh blasted owl! Oooh, Archimedes better be right this time.” Merlin says as he heads for his office.

  Morgie in his Look Out tree notices him, he howls, barks, then meows, trying to give a signal.

  “Wait, how did you know?” Red asks

  “Yeah, I was, like, 80 percent max.” Chloe says

  “I could’ve been perma-frozen, and you were only 80 percent?”

  Chloe chuckles nervously, then they hear Merlin sneeze, all four future teens look toward the door, seeing the man, “Rain, rain, rain, stupendous. Now I’m getting a cold. Where’s the key? Blasted owl.” Merlin says as he enters the room.

  The other four had slipped out the window, leaving the young villains frozen there. Merlin thinks they snuck in through the window, “Well, I hope you enjoy detention, since you’ve just signed up for years.” Merlin says

  All of the frozen VKs groan.

 Red and Chloe enter their room after sending the boys to theirs, “Did you see their faces when they opened the book?” Chloe asks with a chuckle.

  “I wish I could see all of them stuck at home on the night of Castlecoming. I bet they’re all pouting like babies.” Red says

  “Wait, are we sure she won’t be there?”

  “Um, yeah. They're gonna be in detention forever! And even if they could go, no cookbook, no prank.” Red holds up the book, “We did it!” 

  Chloe squeals, “We can go back, we can go home!”

  “Ah ah, we promised Luis we’d go to Castlecoming, plus, he already bought you a really pretty dress, here, come look.”

  Chloe follows Red, hung up in the closet is a red dress with many accessories under it, then a blue and silver dress, a few accessories under that one as well, “We made sure that it matched your style.” Red says

  “It’s perfect.” Chloe says, “So we’re really just going to go to this dance with an unknown future?” She asks

  “Yup.”

  “Fun.”

  “Let’s get some sleep.”

  “Right.”

  “Wooo, that was eventful!” Luis says as they enter their room.

  “And it’s almost over, then we get to head home. You just had to be so persistent about the whole Castlecoming thing.” Max says, collapsing onto his bed.

  “Come on, it’s like getting to do something that your parents did! Something that doesn’t exist anymore, and now it’s our only chance, and with your camera, we can keep the memories locked in!”

  “Right, just go to sleep, sunshine boy.”

  “Alright, goodnight Max.”

  “Night, Luis.”

  It’s now time for the dance. Luis is absolutely ecstatic, he’s the first to wake up, “It’s time for Castlecoming!” He exclaims, startling Max awake.

  “Well that’s a way to wake up…” Max grumbles

  “Up and at ‘em Max!”

  “You do know your beloved dance doesn’t start until 8PM, right?”

  “Wow, you’re grumpy when you’re tired, aren’t you?”

  “You should see Red.” Max says with a sleepy chuckle, sitting up and rubbing his eyes.

  Chloe wakes up, stretching, “Welp, it’s the last day, Red, time to get up.” She says

  “Oh fluff off, let me sleep until the dance starts.” Red grumbles into her pillow.

  “Red, we need to eat breakfast and lunch, and get our exercise, maybe hang out with the boys a bit?”

  “Fluff the boys, they can eat snails.”

  “Okay! I will just leave you alone then… I’ll be back with breakfast.”

  “Bring me a chocolate muffin.”

  “You got it.”

  Chloe finds Luis and Max in the breakfast hall, she walks over to them, noticing that Max is leaning on Luis, his eyes shut, “Guess he’s as much of a morning person as Red.” She says with a light chuckle.

  “Well, I guess once the weight of Auradon was lifted from their shoulders, they fell back into their sleep cycles.” Luis says, “I’m also making myself a cozy temperature, he’s like a cat sleeping under the sunlight.”

  “He’s sleeping standing up while you get breakfast? He could’ve stayed in bed like Red.”

  “He didn’t let me.” Max grumbles

  “Right, well, I better get Red her muffin.” Chloe says, making her way to the baked goods.

  While Luis takes his and Max’s plates to a table to eat, Chloe takes her and Red’s plates up to their room.

  While Max and Luis are eating, Mirabel and Maddox sit at their table, “So, are you two excited for Castlecoming tonight?” Mirabel asks

  “I sure am! I had to practically beg my friends to go.” Luis says with a big smile.

  “Not much of a morning person, is he?” Maddox asks, pointing at Max with a sausage on his fork.

  “Yeah…” Luis says, bouncing up his shoulder, “Time to eat, Max.” 

  Max stabilizes in his seat, sleepily looking at his plate, seeing the waffles, along with sausage, blueberries and a muffin, he starts eating, taking a bite he looks up, startling at Maddox, “Morning alchemy partner.” Maddox says with a smile and food in his mouth.

  “We never really got your names, you know.” Mirabel points out

  “Oh, I’m Luis.” Luis says

  “Max.” Max sleepily grumbles

  “Cool, I’m Maddox and she’s Mirabel.” Maddox says

  “Are you two friends?” Luis asks

  “Well, we used to be just alchemy partners, but we did become friends.” Mirabel says

  “She ranted to me about how you kept touching things that could burn you.” Maddox says flatly

  “Oh.” Luis says

  “You know, you have a slight resemblance to my sister, Luisa.” Maribel says with food in her mouth.

  “I-I do?” 

  “Yeah, and Max looks a little like Maddox… Eh,” She shrugs, “Probably just a coincidence.” 

  Max and Luis share a look. Maddox looks at them, chewing on a piece of pancake, he then asks, “Are you two dating?” Pointing his fork at both of them.

  “What!?” Luis and Max exclaim

  “Oh, and those two girls you hang out with, they're dating too, right? Red and Chloe, they’re cute together, you two are too.” Mirabel says

  “No, no, we’re not dating, neither are Red and Chloe.” Max says

  “We’ll have to see what happens at Castlecoming then, many fall in love there.” Maddox says

  Max and Luis look at each other then down at their food, both now scarfing down their food with red faces so they don’t have to talk anymore. Maddox then whispers to Mirabel, “I think we’re helping them realize something.” 

  “We should try helping Red and Chloe next.” Mirabel whispers back

  Maddox nods.

  Chloe enters the room, somehow getting in with two plates of food, “So, planning on bed rotting after saving all of Auradon?” She asks

  “Yup…” Red says, snuggled under her covers, hugging a pillow, “Just… What if my Mom doesn’t change…?” She asks

  “It doesn’t matter, you’re not her.” There’s a short pause, “Now eat your breakfast before it’s cold.”

  “Alright…”

  Red sits up, Chloe setting her plate on her lap, “Thank you.” She says

  Chloe takes a seat in one of the chairs in their room, “You know, this kinda feels like a field trip or vacation of some sort.” Chloe says

  “Ah yes, a vacation in between a bad timeline to a good one.” Red says, stabbing her waffles, “Hopefully.” She adds

  “All we have is this dance, then we can see what happened.” 

  “Right, we can thank Luis for this wait.”

  “He’s just got those big puppy dog eyes and that bright smile. He is also super stubborn and has already spent money… He’s very good at manipulating…”

  “He has a lot of VK qualities, but he’s probably just a bit spoiled and used to getting what he wants.”

  “Well, the Madrigals live in a small village called Encanto, and the Madrigals themselves have to use their gifts to support the family and the village, so I doubt he’s really that spoiled, I think he’s just stubborn.”

  “Huh, I guess he’s just a complex guy.”

  “Everyone is complex.”

  “True.”

  At 7pm, pretty much everyone was getting changed into their outfits for the dance. Red changed in the bed area, while Chloe changed in the bathroom. Once both change, they start doing their makeup, once done, they check out each other’s outfits.

  Chloe looks at her accessories and smooths out her dress, “You and Luis picked pretty well, I wasn’t expecting this to fit perfectly. I also love the look.” Chloe says

  “Yeah, I can’t believe he had that much coin on him, I believe even less he spent so much on us. Though I did notice it was a bit cheaper than I expected…” Red says

  “We are in the past, so maybe stuff is cheaper, inflation and all that.”

  “Huh, maybe.”

  Luis just finished getting changed, he adjusts his suit a bit, Max exiting from the bathroom, adjusting his bow tie, then his top hat, “I don’t know if I really should’ve let you and Red bully me into this outfit…” He says

  “I think it suits you well.” Luis says

  “Let’s just go to the girls, Red wanted us to head to her dorm once we were done getting dressed.”

  “Alright, let’s go.”

  The boys make it to the girls’ dorm, who quickly pull them into the room and sit them down, “Chloe, you put your badazly jewel things on Luis’s face, then paint his nails gold. I’m going to give Max eye liner under his eyes and paint his nails black and purple.” Red says

  “Oh, uh, okay!” Chloe says

  After the extra bit of glam was added to the boys, the girls show off their work through hand mirrors, Luis looks at his face, “Huh, I like it, and the golden nails thing is pretty nice too!” He says

  “I look like a VK…” Max says

  “No, you look cool and alternative, I’m sure if this was a movie or something, a lot of girls would be drooling over your looks.” Red says

  “I don’t want girls drooling over me…”

  “Okay, guys then, guys are drooling over you, now, let’s get to this dance.”

  When they make it to the dance, it looked more like a theme park event, when they get in, Bridget is quick to notice them, she’s wearing a pink rose themed dress, next to her is Ella, in a beautiful, almost magical, blue and silver gradient dress with glass shoes and her hair tied up in a bun. 

  Also standing nearby is Mirabel and Maddox, it looks like the four were chatting. Mirabel is wearing a green and white dress with many flowers and butterflies embroidered on it, she probably embroidered it herself, she likes embroidery. Maddox is wearing a green and purple suit, with a cream button up and a hat that matches his suit. 

  Bridget rushes over with a huge smile, “Oh my gosh! You guys came!” She says, “Come on!” She says, guiding the four to the other three.

  “Oh, hey you four, we were just talking about you.” Ella says

  “You all look very nice!” Mirabel says with a smile.

  “Did the girls make you wear makeup and paint your nails, or was that by choice?” Maddox asks

  “They made us.” Max says, rubbing the back of his neck.

  “But I actually really like it.” Luis says, looking at his nails.

  “Oh! Ella, look, Charming is coming this way!” Bridget says, with a grin.

  Charming walks over in his princely suit, “Ella, so you actually did come.” He says

  “I came for Bridget, not you.” Ella says

  “I see.”

  “Hey, why don’t we go on the Ferris Wheel before we go dancing? Oh! I’m also super excited to know who the Castlecoming King and Queen are!” Bridget suggests

  “Sure, let’s go!” Ella says

  “You wouldn’t mind if I tag along, right?” Charming asks

  “Sure! We’re already going to be a big group!” Bridget says

  As the group head for the Ferris wheel, Maddox and Mirabel pull Bridget to the side with them, whispering between them, “Listen up Bridget, there’s some love bugs bouncing around and we need help setting them up.” Mirabel whispers

  “Love bugs?! I love Love Bugs! Where are they?” Bridget says, looking around.

  “No, Bridget, she means there’s people that need to realize they’re in love.” Maddox whispers

  “Oooh! Who?” She whispers back

  “Ella and Charming, Red and Chloe, Max and Luis.” Mirabel whispers

  Bridget squeals, “Oh my gosh! You’re so right! They’re perfect for each other!” She says, trying to stay quiet, even with her excitement, “What’s the plan?”

  “Obviously getting each pair in their own Ferris wheel pod, we three can share one.” Maddox whispers

  “You’re okay with that, right, Bridget?” Mirabel asks

  “Are you kidding?! Of course! Does that mean the three of us are friends now?” Bridget asks

  “Yeah! I’d love to be your friend!” Mirabel says with a smile.

  “Yeah, I guess so.” Maddox says with a shrug.

  Bridget squeals again, she bounces before continuing with the group to the Ferris wheel. Once they make it there, they’re asked how many per cart, Bridget pushes up Ella and Charming, “These two will be by themselves!” She says cheerfully

  Ella turns towards Bridget, “Bridget, are you sure?” She asks

  “Uh-huh! Go on!” 

  Charming enters the cart, helping Ella in too, they sit down and the next cart locks in, “You two next, Red and Chloe.” Bridget says, pushing them in.

  “Wait, just us?” Red asks

  “What about you?” Chloe asks

  “I’m riding with Maddox and Mirabel! Now go!” Bridget says

  Red and Chloe look at each other, shrug, then go into the cart, lifting their dresses to get in, then sit down, the next one comes, “Now Luis and Max!” Bridget says

  “Wait what?” Max asks

  “You heard the girl, come on!” Luis says, pulling Max along with him.

  “Woah!” Max yelps, holding his hat.

  Once they settle down, the wheel moves again, Bridget interlocks her arms with Maddox and Mirabel, “Let’s go my fellow cupids!” She says with a smile, having a bounce to her walk as they enter the cart.

  They sit and the wheel starts moving, “I guess we are playing Cupid today aren’t we?” Mirabel asks

  “I’m just acting out on a feeling I had.” Maddox says

  “Don’t sell yourself short, Maddox, you’re a smart guy with a great intuition!” Bridget says

  “Yeah, I guess so, huh?” Maddox asks, slouching in his seat.

  “I wonder how the love birds are doing.” Mirabel says

  Ella is sitting across from Charming, looking out the window, “So, I guess Bridget figured me out.” Charming says, rubbing the back of his neck.

  Ella turns to look at him, “What do you mean?” She asks

  “I’ve had a crush on you for a while, I guess Bridget figured it out, but if she put you in here with me, maybe you like me too?”

  Ella looks away, fiddling with her fingers, “Well, maybe…”

  Charming chuckles, “Well, once we’re down from here, you want to dance with me?” He asks

  “Know what, fluff it, sure, I’d love to.”

  “Awesome!”

  “Now shush your pretty face and enjoy the view.” Ella says, slightly smiling as she looks back out the window.

  Charming chuckles and looks out the window.

  “All of this is kinda crazy, we only went back in time to save the future, but now we’re over staying just to go to this, actually really cool, dance.” Chloe says

  “It’s kinda nice… Know what, let’s just forget about the future until the end of this dance. Since we’re here, let’s have fun.” Red says

  “You’re right.” Chloe says before looking out the window, “Woah, what a view!”

  “Wow…” Red says, looking outside too, “Why did they stop doing this?”

  “I don’t have a clue…”

  “I mean, I guess Auradon Prep has other dances, right?”

  “Yeah, but none of them are at a theme park! This is incredible!”

  Red looks at Chloe, her amazed face as she looks at the window is so cute, she gets flutters in her stomach, Chloe looks at Red, “You okay? You got quiet.” She says

  Red blushes, then she shakes her head, “Yeah, sorry, just got distracted by… the uh, view, you know, it’s just so… Pretty.”

  “It is, isn't it?”

  “Um, once we’re down from here, you want to dance with me?”

  “Oh. Sure, yeah.” Chloe says with a nod.

  “Great.” Red says with a nod.

  The cart falls into a comfortable silence, with the only sound being the lovely melody playing from the speakers.

  Luis looks out the window with a big smile, “This is so awesome! You brought your camera, right?!” He asks

  “Oh, uh, yeah, it’s right here.” Max says, pulling a camera from his coat pocket, Luis looks at it with amazement.

  “Woah! Your Dad made that?! He’s really good with tech, huh?” Luis asks

  “Yup, you want me to take photos tonight, right?”

  “Oh, absolutely! Take as many as you can!”

  “You got it.”

  Max holds up his camera, getting a really good photo that features Luis and the view. Max looks at the photo, smiling softly, “Heyyy, did you just take a secret photo? Let me see!” Luis says

  Max turns the camera around to show Luis, the sunshine boy gasping, “Woah! You’re as good at photography as I am with glass sculpting!” 

  Max scoffs, “No I’m not.” He says, turning the camera back to himself.

  “What are you talking about? Yes you are! You’ve captured the moment perfectly! You’ve gotta keep taking pictures tonight!”

  Max chuckles, “Alright, I’ll do my best.” He says with a smile.

  “Although, I think we should dance together later.” Luis says, rubbing the back of his neck and smiling softly.

  “Yeah, I mean, this is a dance after all.” 

  “Yeah!”

  After finishing their Ferris wheel ride, the group of nine makes their way to the dance floor, where there’s plenty of food and drinks. When they get there, Principal Merlin gets everyone’s attention, “Students, students, it's time to announce the Castlecoming King and Queen!” He says

  Merlin makes a letter appear in his hands, he opens it, then smiles, “Your King and Queen are… Bell and Beast!” He announces

  Everyone claps, while the future four all look at each other and smile. Max taking a photo of young Bell and Beast on the stage. Bell has her long wavy brown hair, with her golden dress, along with Beast looking more like he’s mid transformation between his human and beast forms, which the future teens found a bit odd. 

  With that, ‘so this is love’ starts playing, Charming and Ella dancing together to the song, Max capturing a beautiful photo of the two. Red invites Chloe to dance with her to the song as well, though awkward at first, the two girls eventually fall into the rhythm. Max got a cute photo of them too. Maribel swipes the camera from Max’s hands, much to his discomfort, but the girl figures out how it works quickly, capturing an adorable photo of Max and Luis slow dancing. Luis had obviously swooped up Max after Mirabel swiped the camera from him. After the song is over, Max gets his camera back.

  After that, an upbeat song starts playing, Max changes his camera to video mode, capturing everyone dancing and having fun. He captures Ella being twirled and dipped by Charming, Bridget doing her ‘shuffle of love’ dance perfectly, everyone hyping her up. Mirabel doing a really cute dance, Maddox doing a silly one. He gets Red and Chloe dancing together, Red spins Chloe, then they swap places and Chloe spins Red. 

  Then Red snatches up the camera from Max’s hands, turning it on him. That’s when Luis swoops him off his feet, he dips him, Max holding onto his hat while he’s dipped. They lock eyes before Luis smiles then pushes him back to his feet, he spins him, then gets Max to dance with him, everyone else hyping Max up as his shell starts breaking. He starts busting it down, and even doing tricks with his hat, making Sir Meowmen appear, fly up in the air, then land back into his hat, just for the small figure to disappear, he then pulls the figure from behind Luis’s ear with a wink and a smile. Luis blushes and everyone claps at his magic trick.

  Max grabs his camera back from red, Maddox approaching him, “Hey, where’d you get that?” He asks

  “Oh, my Dad made it, he’s really good with tech.” 

  “Huh.”

  After a whole night of fun, everyone eventually had to leave. Which meant the future four had to head back to the future.

  On the way back, the future kids high tailed it for the courtyard, which didn’t go unnoticed. The others got curious and followed them, “Hey, why are you four in the courtyard?” Bridget asks

  “Oh, um…” Red says, struggling to find the words.

  “Ugh! Enough of the lying! We’re from the future!” Chloe blurts

  “…What?” Charming asks

  “Yeah, no, she’s telling the truth.” Luis says

  “How is this possible?” Mirabel asks

  “All because of my Dad, he made the time machine." Max says

  Luis grabs the Watch from his coat pocket, “This is how we’re here.” He says, showing off the Watch.

  “Well, why did you go back in time?” Ella asks

  “We had to prevent an event that caused one of our parents to become a tyrant.” Red says

  “Our full names are Red Ofhearts,” Chloe guides her hand to Red, “Chloe Charming,” she says pointing at herself, “Luis Madrigal,” she points to Luis, “And Max Hatter,” she finishes, pointing at Max.

  Mirabel snaps her fingers, “I knew he looked like Luisa!” She says

  “Wait, so, I’m technically the one who makes that camera and that… Time Machine?” Maddox asks

  “That’s right, you can do anything you put your mind and magic to.” Max says with a smile.

  “Oh! Can’t that camera print photos too?” Red asks

  “Oh, uh, yeah.” Max says with a nod.

  “Wait, hold on, so all the bad stuff you said your Mom did, I will do…?” Bridget asks, her eyes welling with tears.

  Red rushes over to Bridget, grabbing her hands, “Bridget, no, no, we prevented the event that would’ve made you a tyrant, I’m sure now you’ll stay just as sweet when you’re Queen.” Red explains

  “Wait… What did you prevent?” Mirabel asks

  “A horrible prank that Maleficent and her crew were going to pull on Bridget.” Chloe explains

  “They were going to make her a cupcake with a frosting that, once she ate it, would’ve turned her into a monster.” Luis adds

  “The prank would be her final straw and break her heart so bad she would’ve turned evil.” Max adds

  “But, thanks to us, Maleficent and her crew have detention for, like, forever. That’s why they weren’t at the dance.” Red says

  “Wow, all of that because she ate feathers that Bridget told her not to!” Ella says

  “Alright, everyone, stand together, we’re taking a group photo.” Max says

  Max presses a button on the bottom of the camera, which pops out tripod legs, Bridget wipes the tears from her eyes, “Thank you guys for doing that for me, I’m forever grateful.” Bridget says

  Max sets down the camera, “Everyone, pose up.” He says

  Charming holds Ella in his arms, Bridget poses in the middle of Maddox and Mirabel, Red and Chloe pose together, and Luis waits for Max. Max starts the timer, rushing over, Luis wraps his arm around Max and Luis says, “Say ‘Time Travel’!” 

  “Time Travel!” Everyone says in unison before the camera sets off, taking the photo, Max rushing over, picking up the camera and collapsing the legs. 

  Max then prints five copies of the photo, presenting them for the others to grab, they each take one, “Thank you, I’ll take good care of it.” Bridget says, pressing the photo to her chest with a smile.

  “We really do have to get going, even if we have all the time in the world.” Red says

  “Yeah… Us being here any longer might change too much.” Chloe says

  “You’ll see us again.” Luis says

  “That’s obvious, Luis, they’re our family.” Max says with a smile, tucking his camera back into his coat pocket.

  All four future kids stand on a stairway, Luis hands the Watch to Red, Red holding it up, “We all ready?” Red asks

  Chloe holds her hand around the Watch, “Ready as I’ll ever be.” She says

  “We’ll have to see what the future holds.” Max says, putting his hand on the Watch too.

  “Hopefully it’ll be good.” Luis says, putting his hand on top of the rest.

  “See you later!” They all say in unison before pressing down on the Watch and traveling through time.

  The other five stand there in slight disbelief. “Yeah… No one’s going to believe us…” Charming says

  “Oh yeah.” Ella says

  “Definitely not.” Bridget says

  “No way.” Mirabel says

  “I’m so glad you guys saw that too.” Maddox says

  When they get back, they’re all dressed differently, but Luis notices his coin pouch is heavier, like time refunded him. 

  Now out of their dance outfits, they’re all in the outfits they wore before the time jump. All except Max, he’s dressed slightly differently, he now has a purple-ish black fedora on his head, along with a long purple coat with pretty designs on the long bottom, but he has a lavender button up with a teal bow tie and tan pants. Besides Max’s style upgrade, everything is pretty much the same.

  They got back to right when Uma introduces herself, all looking on from the stairway. Descending the stairs, they make their way towards the front. Seeing that the Queen is playing with her cards, they all get nervous. 

  “Mom? What are you doing?” Red asks

  “Why, I’m playing my favorite game.” She says before turning around, revealing the front half of her dress to be white gradient, “Hearts!” She says, tossing her cards in the air, slowly descending are cute, pink, heart shaped bubbles. 

  The four sigh with relief, “Oh! I’m so sorry, I couldn’t help myself! I’m just so excited for my daughter to be here.” The Queen says with a smile.

  Red smiles then looks at Chloe, both relieved, Luis nudged Max, the both of them filled with relief as well.

  “Well, I can’t top that, let’s have a good school year everyone.” Uma says

  Everyone claps, “You saved my Mom, and your Mom is good now, you changed history!” Chloe says, ecstatic.

  “No, we changed history!” Red says

  “Heck yeah we did!” Luis says, pulling everyone into a hug.

  Red breaks from the hug and heads for her Mom, both singing ‘life is sweeter when you are’ before hugging. “You know, Mom, you actually are really wonderful.” Red says

  With that, everyone starts dancing, with a remixed version of ‘Life is sweeter when you are’ playing in the background, because every good ending is a dance party in these movies. 

  Chloe then notices her family, “Mom, Dad, Chad!” She says

  “Ah, there she is.” Cinderella says

  “Hey mouse face, where were you hiding?” Chad asks

  “Get on over here, Chloe.” Charming says with a smile.

  They all hug then start dancing with everyone else.

  Max heads over to his Dad, who is also dressed slightly differently, his green outfit is slightly swirled with purple, and his hair is a little longer. “Dad?” Max asks

  “Oh, there you are, I thought you got lost.” Maddox says with a smile and a soft chuckle.

  “You look different.” Max says

  “What do you-Ah! You’re back from time travel, aren’t you?” 

  “Maybe.” 

  “We all still have our photos, you know?” Maddox says, taking out an old folded photo from a pocket in his coat, “See?” He asks, unfolding the photo and showing it to Max, “We all became really close friends after that day, having an experience no one believed.” He adds before nudging Max with his elbow.

  “Wait, so are you still Red’s Mom’s adviser?” Max asks

  “Of course,” Maddox says with a chuckle, “What else would I be?” He asks, putting the photo back in his coat.

  Max hugs his Dad, “I love you.”

  “I love you too.” Maddox says, rubbing Max’s back as he hugs him back, “Sooo, you and Luisa’s son?”

  “Daaaad!” Max groans, his cheeks reddening.

  Maddox chuckles.

  Luis walks over to his Mom, “Hey Mom.” He says with a smile.

  “There you are kiddo.” Luisa says, pulling her son under her arm to give him a noogie, “Where did you run off to?” She asks

  “You know, places.” Luis says with a chuckle.

  “Okay?” Luisa says with a smile.

  What a happy ending, it would be too bad if a Cheshire Cat were to cause some mischief after all of that, wouldn’t it. Hehehe, meow!
