Summary
After escaping an abusive home with his siblings, Don dedicated his life to keeping Katie and Ash safe. There was more the world had to offer than the cruel hands of under qualified adults, and he would be the one to show them that, even if it came with sacrifice after sacrifice.
Katie’s independence clashed with the world he wished to build for them. Her drive to be her own person at such a young age was dangerous, yet something she picked up from Don himself.
After a tantrum over having to move states, again, an upset and frazzled Katie ends up on the wrong bus and lost in the middle of New York City, completely alone. While Don and Ash lose their heads trying to look for her, she finds shelter in new faces.
