Chapter Text
She awoke once again and groaned.
Her blood reserves were dangerously low and what made it worse was the ball of fire in the sky.
The sun hit her undead form so uncomfortably when she saw 2 sets of blue eyes staring at her. Strangely neither seemed to do it in fear and while they were certainly tense and shocked they seemed used to seeing vampires.
Both of the eyes looked at each other and then the girl piped up.
“Sausage go back to the town and tell em about this”
“Uhhh ok” Sausage said and he disappeared from her line of sight but she could hear his footsteps falling and leaving.
“Hello human.” Gem spoke with a malicious smile.
“Ello vamp.” The girl stared at her and only repeated what she said in her strange accent.
“Are you not scared?”She bared her fangs and laughed a little but it quickly died down when the girl pulled out a vial of water and splashed it on her.
Her skin started to burn and Gem realised that the human was too scared to fight her and instead poured holy water on her.
Bitch.
Gem was paralysed in pain when the girl hoisted her out of the tomb and she fell onto the ground.
The holy water was wearing off and Gem pounced onto her and tried to rip her throat out but as she reached she quickly retracted as she had a silver choker on.
Smart bitch.
The girl tired to pin her to the ground but she was too fast and dodged her attempts
Gem quickly jumped back to get out of distance of her surprising strength but was too late and was now lying on the dirt, restrained with a human on top of her. She was too low on blood to do much about it and instead thrashed and scratched as much as she could. Which was really not a lot.
“Why are you here?” the human asked her.
“I live here.”
“Ok do you plan to hurt us?”
Gem sneered, “So you just woke me up from my slumber, poured holy water on me and then attacked me when I tried to defend myself!? No I don't but I will if you continue to treat me like this.”
The human actually looked sheepish and explained the vampires she knew were not the merciful kind. Memories of Scott dripped back to her in a stream of sadness once again. She never even found him.
The human got to her feet and offered a hand to hoist Gem up.
“I appreciate your offer to help but I am so very weak right now.”
“Why?” her tone seemed almost… caring? Like she actually cared how Gem felt.
“You just splashed me in holy water,” she shuddered as another dull pain washed over the affected burn on her skin. Unfortunately it had hit her burn wound and it was acting up again.
“And I am really low on blood.” she said sinisterly but when she saw the human’s face fall she giggled and brushed it off.
“Don't worry, Goldsmiths are all about consent.” she laughed it off before seeing the look in her new acquaintance’s eyes.
“So shall I keep calling you human in my head or do you have a name?”
“Pearl” she said it almost out of breath.
“Pretty name, I’m Gemini Tay Goldsmith. But you can call me Gem.”
…
“Were you going to help me somewhere safe or want to just stand there?” Gem asked, drawing her words in a bored manner.
But Pearl had no real reply. She muttered something that even Gem could not hear and went back to her thoughts.
That's where they were when the familiar man crashed though the bushes and shrubbery with 3 other humans in tow. One was an older man with a monocle and doctor attire and another had medium brown hair with the smell of dog around him. Last had blonde hair and a nasty expression on his face as he put his spear right against her throat.
Pearl tried to get him away from her but her attempts to reassure him were quickly cut off by two more bottles of holy water being thrown at Gem.
Great, just what a starving, hurt and tired vampire needed.
The last words she heard before she passed out was Pearl’s shaky voice saying,
“She’s a Goldsmith."
