True Love's Kiss (will break the spell)

Summary:

Canon divergence! a 3rd little fix it if you will (glasshearts/charminghearts) stand-alone

This is based on some Tumblr post about Red thinking true love's kiss will break the spell from the evil bracelet.

I could not resist...

Chloe looked right back at her, “-And you'll know what it's like to feel invisible and pushed aside.”
There had to be a way to break the spell-
It hit Red.
It was a whisper in the deepest darkest corner of her mind.
Kiss.
True Love's Kiss.
Kiss the princess.
“Chloe…” Red slowly approached her enchanted friend, “Chloe, you're right. I haven't had your back these last few days.”

Notes:

the hyperfixation continues...

I hope to write some actual Pink/Hazel, but for now I will always imply it *smirks*

It's really short, but I needed to write it

it made me laugh, I hope you laugh too

enjoy!

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Red watched as Chloe swooped down to snag the pocket watch.

    “Chloe…”

How to break the spell, how to break the spell-

Chloe looked at the face of the pocket watch, a wicked smirk forming on her lips.

Why does she look so hot?

“Think about what you're doing,” Red pleaded, ignoring that thought, “This isn't you.”

Her mind raced as Chloe took a step forward, completely unbothered, “Weren’t you listening, Red?” She mocked, “Of course it's not me,” she let out a chuckle, “...Not the me that you knew, anyway.”

Break the spell.

Chloe threw back her head, “No. I'm free of her.” She laughed in sick relief.

Max jumped in, “So click the dial, Chloe.”

Red tried to remember everything she had ever learned about spell breaking.

Spells, hexes, jinxs- she couldn't even think of the differences; she was panicking.

“Our pain will disappear.” Max continued to nurture the evil in Chloe, “-It’ll all go away, and she will be the one hurting.”

Red wished she had the magic word, wished there was something she could say.

Reverse the incantation, defeat the spellcaster-

     “It's the perfect revenge.”

Red could feel her throat tighten.

Max continued, “Put our lives back the way they were.”

Chloe twisted the pocket watch chain around her fingers, listening to Max's monologue.

     “Do it.”

Create a potion-

Chloe scoffed, looking up at him with feigned pity, “-You think I'm doing this for you, Max? Or your dad-” she snickered, “No. I… I've seen the past. I've seen that sad story. No, I say we turn this around and look to the future.” Chloe looked back at the watch, “-A future where I'll finally be on top-”

Red looked at Chloe with disbelief, hope fading.

Chloe was caught off guard.

Red reached out, hand taking Chloe's, “I don't want to lose you. I'm sorry. I don't want to lose us.”

Chloe ripped her hand away, trying to ignore Red.

This emboldened Red.

She stepped forward and grabbed Chloe's chin.

She kissed her squarely on the mouth.

It was horrible.

Their teeth knocked into each other, it wasn't sweet or delicate.

Oh clocks, I've ruined it-

Chloe's hand reached up and cradled Red's head, pulling her closer.

Oh.

Chloe returned the kiss with equal passion.

Oh, I did it?

Chloe didn't speak, she just kissed Red.

It was not a perfect princess kiss, it was borderline obsessive.

It made Red lose all sense of duty and honor- where had Chloe learned to kiss like that?

The princess of Wonderland moved her hand down Chloe’s bicep, convinced that this kiss had a separate intention, that there was some reason why she shouldn't be kissing Chloe. She was supposed to be concerned with something other than kissing Chloe, but it felt like fate.

Kissing Chloe felt like the best decision, like the only possible decision.

Chloe broke off the kiss and gave her a disapproving look.

Red frowned and leaned forward to kiss Chloe again, and Chloe kissed her back.

Red could only think about Chloe Charming and kissing Chloe Charming.

Chloe was so hot, and her kisses were addictive.

Red brushed her fingers across Chloe's soft face, stomach summersaulting.

She loved Chloe's face, her face was so beautiful.

When Chloe kissed her again, she tugged on Red's bottom lip.

Red moaned.

Chloe nudged Red, stepping with Red's body still pressed into hers.

Red didn't protest, but followed Chloe's lead.

The spell… Is the spell broken?

Red was backed into a wall, and Chloe's eyes looked her up and down.

Those beautiful brown eyes…

Red blinked.

Chloe looked possessive, definitely.

Was Red kissing evil Chloe?

No, evil Chloe was kissing Red, Red was simply breaking a spell.

Was Chloe evil? Because she wasn't doing anything about the pocket watch.

The pocket watch!

Red reached for it, but Chloe ran her tongue over Red's bottom lip and Red trembled, her hand faltering.

“Let's focus on the present, baby.” Chloe whispered, her words sending tingles down Red's spine.

Red nodded, her hand curling around Chloe's neck instead of reaching for the pocket watch.

Chloe leaned in close, breath warm on Red's face.

Red leaned closer on instinct, but Chloe turned her head, their lips missing.

Red growled, “What was that for, Chlo?”

Chloe glared, “You only care about the fucking watch.”

Red shook her head, “No, Chloe. I'm here for you.”

Chloe's gaze pierced through Red, “Really?”

Red nodded, “I'm here because I don't want to lose us.”

Chloe crossed her arms, “Really? Because you've been avoiding me ever since we got to Wonderland. -And don't get me started on your midnight stroll with Biceps Boy.”

Red wavered.

Chloe nodded, “I see how it is.” She started to walk away.

Red took hold of her waist, “Don’t go, Chloe. I'm sorry. I got a bit distracted by biceps and brown eyes and I'm sorry. I liked you first, boo.”

Chloe tilted her chin, eyes softening at the nickname, “-Does that mean that you choose me?”

Red nodded.

“I belong to you, Red. Do you belong to me?”

     “Yes.”

     “You swear?” Chloe's eyes flashed.

Red nodded.

Chloe reached for Red's jacket, unzipping it and sliding it down off of Red's shoulder.

Red gaped, stunned by the princess’s actions.

Then Chloe started kissing her again with just as much passion.

She bit Red's lip and Red buried her hands in Chloe's hair.

She didn't want Chloe to stop.

Kisses were sprinkled over her face- cheeks, forehead, chin-

Then kisses trailed down her neck.

Chloe's lips were soft, her touch fleeting.

Chloe titled Red's face with one hand, “Red,” she whispered, breath ghosting over Red's ear, “Are you mine, baby?”

Red swallowed and nodded.

She couldn't speak a word.

Red could feel Chloe's hair under her chin as the princess left another trail of kisses.

Red could only feel some of the kisses, and it made her wish that her shirt didn't have such a high neckline, even if it was just black netting.

Do I want to be Chloe's?

Red was so conflicted with the feeling brought on by the kisses and the adrenaline from the argument that she couldn't make sense of anything.

Is this still about the pocket watch?

Chloe had asked.

Red decided that it was definitely not about the pocket watch, not when Chloe was leaving marks along her neck.

Red was melting against the wall, Chloe's thighs and torso keeping her in place.

Chloe's body was so warm and solid, it made Red want to hold tight and never let go.

Chloe's kisses turned soft.

It was like a sweet apology after a passionate misunderstanding.

Red could feel her throat tighten and she begged herself not to cry.

Chloe's lips returned to her own.

Red cradled Chloe's head, keeping her as close as possible.

    “I'm sorry, Chlo.”

Chloe didn't even acknowledge Red's words, she just slid her arm around Red, kissing deeply.

    “EEK!”

A voice shattered through the space in a high pitch.

“Red. RED. RED WHAT ARE YOU DOING?”

Red broke off the kiss, heart hammering in her chest.

She felt dizzy and hot.

Chloe didn't seem to mind, she pressed another kiss against Red's mouth.

Red couldn't help herself, she kissed back.

     “Stop kissing the enemy!”

Red finally turned to address her younger  sister, “Chloe's not the enemy?”

Pink’s face and neck turned as red as her older sister's hair.

Red felt grossly aware of the marks along her neck and the lip gloss that covered her face.

She felt entirely embarrassed; and a tiny part of her felt proud.

Hazel hid a laugh behind her hand, “I thought Red was the alpha.”

Felix looked at her with evident disappointment.

“She literally has the pocket watch, Red!” Pink exclaimed after recovering from the blatant debauchery, “-And look at that outfit-”

Red looked at Chloe's outfit.

She loved the dress.

Chloe looked so pretty and hot.

“Without the heart eyes you loser,” Pink snapped, “-She’s evil.”

Red looked Chloe up and down, then rested her arms on Chloe's shoulders as she looked deep into brown eyes.

Red's heart and other vital organs melted, “Nah.”

“-How long has this been going on?” Hazel asked in a stage whisper.

“-They’ve been making out for fifteen minutes.” Max replied in frustration.

“And you've been watching?” Robbie blurted.

    “What? No. They're gross.”

“-Well I missed the best part,” Hazel grumbled.

“Red, have you lost your mind?”

Red glanced at her sister then back at Chloe.

“Chloe's not evil. She was just a little bit jealous.” Red pressed a kiss against Chloe's forehead, “Right, boo?”

Chloe blushed.

Pink gawked.

“But she's still wearing the bracelet.” Max said, lifting his hat to rub his temples, “-How???”

Red shrugged, “True Love's Kiss?”

Max gagged, “You've got to be kidding me.”

Red shrugged, “It's one of the best ways to break a spell.”

Chloe slid an arm around Red's waist, leaning close enough to kiss Red's jawline.

“Hey, no more!” Pink blurted, “-Now take off the bracelet!”

Red looked at Chloe.

The bluenette pulled off the bracelet and her hair returned to its natural, curly state.

Red smiled, “You're so cute.” she tapped Chloe's nose.

Chloe rolled her eyes, but she was smiling too.

“Hey, can I see that?” Hazel asked, hand outstretched.

Both girls looked at her with disbelief.

“What? It won't have any effect on me. I'm already villainous and gay.”

Felix laughed, “Got ‘em.”

Red did a double take, “Pink, when did you turn back to normal size?”

“Felix helped me. What? -Hey, don't look at me like that, we're friends now! Though not the type of friends who do… that.” Pink shivered with disgust.

Red was once again reminded of her disheveled state.

“–I’m just saying. It makes people gay and horny, I want to see what happens.”

Felix shook his head, “Of course you do.”

     “And you don't?”

Felix laughed, “It wouldn't affect me the same way.”

The Smee twins exchanged a look, “Hey Pink, you would look good with a bracelet.”

Pink gave them an elegant expression full of disappointment.

“Sorry Hazel, we tried.” Squeaky blurted.

Hazel waved them off.

“So… What's happening?” Luis asked, looking around the entire group, “Is Max evil? Are you two a thing?”

Max sighed, “I let my emotions get the best of me. As for those two- isn't it obvious?”

Hazel nodded, “Chloe follows Red around like a lost puppy.”

Chloe glared, “I'm not a lackey, I'm her partner.”

Red nodded, intertwining their fingers.

“Fine. As if it means anything to me.”

“Like I promised Chloe, we'll figure this out together. I've got to rescue my mom and we've got to help Max's father.”

Robbie looked wary, “Help him?”

Red nodded.

The group exchanged looks.

Chloe cleared her throat, “-Shall we form a plan?”

Red squeezed her hand, “Yes. Together.”
