Chapter Text
Evan likes pretty things. Evan likes photography. That's what he does. Hunts down pretty things and sells the prints. It's all he wanted in life. Now Evan wouldn't describe himself as...a hateful person. But currently he's brewing all the ideas in the world to kill Bartimus fucking crouch jr.
He had plans tonight.(Read sit at a computer for an ungodly amount of hours to edit photos and process commissions) But now since his incredibly annoying roommate lied to him. He's out taking photos of an underground boxing match.
Barty is shouting over the screams about some bet he's taking and telling Evan to go wander elsewhere. Everything feels like a million degrees. He passes everyone and hates the feel of their skin and sweat on him. He just needs to find a dull corner.
He however finds a beautiful man that looks like he walked out of Evans dreams. Abs he wants to lick with hair that is just long enough to tug on. But his smile laughing at someone else's joke as he put glasses on. And Evan is itching for his camera to take photos and print them as a poster and put them everywhere.
Evan finally comes out of the daze with the man not even a foot away.
"Do you have a fucking problem?" The tone in his voice makes Evan freeze. It's almost scary but Evan can't show that. His deck is always face down on the table.
Gathering all his courage. He reaches for the camera. "Nah I just think you're pretty, smile" the flash goes off. And Evan has never seen a more striking smile. He's never seen a more pretty smile, blood and all.
"Alright then what's your name camera boy." James is absolutely amazed by this boy. The confidence to walk up to a fighter, and just stare then take a photo without asking is astounding. Plus it helps that he is so easy on the eyes James wants to devour him.
Evan sees the need in James' eyes. out of lust of genuine curiosity he's not entirely sure. But this game is fun for Evan. "Well pretty I hope you like mysteries."
He dashing into a crowd and is gone without a trace. And James is so entirely confused because what the shit just happened. And he has no time to stew upon it cause Barty is always entirely too loud.
"Well, how is my pretty sun. You just won me so much money I should really kiss you for it." Barty says happily and then James sees his plotting smirk and knows there is something bad turning in his head.
"Barty you are louder than normal and happier to so what are you plotting and whatever it is you better leave me the fuck out of it." James distractly dismisses Barty.
"Well that would ruin all my fun but I brought a friend with me and I'm finally gonna get you guys to meet....and kiss which I will hopefully see." Bartys grin is huge like a Cheshire cat. Everyone should be worried for what's next.
"Gods why are you always such a pervert let me get cleaned up for your mystery boy cause he deserves to not be stood up however I will be yelling at you later" with that James walks far away from evil plotting Barty to the locker rooms. Hopefully this doesn't go awful.
Barty's great, really. However, if he's forced any of his friends to come with him here. There's only so much time spent here and with Barty before anyone loses it.
James cleans up very nicely if he thinks so. The shirt he already packed for later was a saving grace. It was red,his signature color. (Everyone thanks Sirius for the red and the fact it was a fancy button up).
No more blood or as much sweat but when a room is crowded with more than a thousand people there's only so much you can do. He missed all his jewelry however, like a suit of armor he could put on.
James walks out of the locker room and Barty comes into his vision the bright green hair and laughter heard across rooms no matter how big.
There he is the pretty boy. Or well the one who called him pretty. Which covered in blood was a very weird choice. But he started to hear the conversation and well James was a curious person.
“Barty I don't give a shit what you're trying to convince me off I have work to do and you won your money I'm not meeting some rando. Who's probably a fucking creep knowing you.” Evan was pissed, Rightfully so. Barty dragged him away from his very incredibly important work tonight to meet some random stranger. This was the worst thing ever.
“Trust, trust Rosie, you're gonna love him, just your type, pretty and intelligent. If you don't like him you can leave. Just give him like four minutes.” James stepped closer and tapped on Barty's shoulder “so this is the boy?”
And Rosie as he got called looked absolutely shocked. Barty had a smug look on his face. Like he had been plotting this for awhile and Evan hated it. It was even worse than the idea of just meeting a complete stranger.
“YES JAMES you're here! This is my friend Evan he does photography…. have you guys met” and Barty for all his lack of social cues knew this. The way Evan stared at James he's lucky looks can't kill. “Yeah Evan here took a photo of me. I'd love to see it by the way.”
~~
Maybe Barty could finally be right about something cause it's definitely been more than four minutes, probably closer to an hour.
There was something about James that immediately clicked with Evan after talking genuinely.
But he needs to get out of here the yelling and the people and Barty's sly grin on the side whenever he walks by is gonna kill him.
Evan is tired; he misses his apartment and his cat desperately. So he makes a very quick choice that he knows he'll regret wording this way later.
“I need you to know I don't mean this as a sexual thing but would you like to leave, maybe go to my apartment? I have to get out of here.” and as those words leave Evans mouth. His phone goes off from Barty
Barty animal:hookup 🪝 💃🤪😍❤️🔥❤️🔥 apt urs 😘😘🥵🥵🥵
This makes Evan hate his life tremendously. He tries to think of anything else quickly.
“Evan Evan! I said we can go and what did Barty say I know that his texts are never good” Evan ends up handing his phone over solemnly.
“Well at least the apartment is ours.” The wince despite trying to mask it is still very visible at Barty's message.
“Yes but at what cost” Evan really debates 1. Killing Barty or 2. Blocking his number to be freed from all his texts ever.
