Summary
“How strange, to discover that the greatest freedom a person can inhabit lives inside the arms of another - despite knowing, always knowing, that every union carries within it the seed of a future departure.“
Trapped within the suffocating walls of a shared room, Suguru spends his days watching Satoru exist as a sun that burns everything too close to it. Being roommates is a quiet kind of torture - a front-row seat to the godlike perfection that highlights every piece of Suguru's own decay. He convinced himself that keeping Satoru at arm's length is the only way to protect them both, yet as winter deepens and the boundaries between them begin to fray, Suguru is forced to confront the terrifying reality: living in Satoru's shadow might kill him, but surviving outside of it is entirely impossible.
Or
Suguru and Satoru live together in a messy apartment, but Suguru is secretly head over heels in love with his roommate. He tries his best to hide his overwhelming crush while they go about their everyday student routine, even though it's driving him crazy.
