Summary
Ilya always knew Shane preferred keeping his weaknesses to himself. They were hockey players, it was no surprise that he would downplay anything that could get in the way of his image. Shane Hollander was a well-oiled machine, who certainly never broke, and after all these years it was a special kind of challenge to get him to open up. Ilya always poked and prodded for answers, hell it was the only way, but pushing only got him so far. Eventually, he would come up behind Shane with a soft voice and strong arms around his waist, assuring him that he could trust him, that they were husbands, that he wanted Shane to feel safe to come to him. However, sometimes Shane couldn’t be moved, but neither could Ilya. Shane liked to hide, and when he thought Ilya might be the least bit concerned with an issue, he would stalk around behind closed doors or pretend like it wasn’t a big deal, but unfortunately Shane had married the most perceptive man in the NHL.
