Summary
V's life hasn't been the same since working with Rosalind Myers and the Federal Intelligence Agency three years ago. They'd promised her a way out, a way they could remove the biochip without killing her, a way she could live her life without the threat of Johnny Silverhand erasing her from her own body. She didn't know just how much it would cost. She didn't know she'd lose two years to a coma while everyone in her life moved on. She didn't know she'd never be able to use cyberware again. She didn't know the New United States of America's brightest minds were merely offering her survival rather than a life. She's spent the past year putting together what could pass for a life. She's got a job that passes the time, an apartment covered by a government pension, and a cat to remind her that at least something knows she exists. But when she meets FIA agent Rebecca Hirase while on the wrong side of a jail cell, V is met with possibilities she hadn't allowed herself to consider. She could get her old life back if she's willing to gamble with what little she's got left.
