Work Text:
Po gaped at Tigress, “What are you wearing?”
She glanced down at herself, “A feminine article of clothing known as a ‘dress’ used often for formal events. I believe you've seen them before.”
Po felt like slapping himself, “Well, yes, but I've never seen you wear one.”
She glanced up, expression unreadable, “It’s a formal celebration Po, following your defeat of Lord Shen. Since I happen to be a female tiger, I'm wearing a dress. Does it bother you to see me wearing one?”
Po really wanted to turn back time. Inner peace regardless, “No, no, that's not what I meant. I think you-the dress-great!” Tigress almost smiled and definitely shook her head.
“Doesn't it make it harder to fight though?” The question popped out before he could stop it.
Tigress forced him into a flip, all without breaking her stride, “No. It's useful to learn how to fight in any situation you might find yourself in. So, I know how to fight in a dress, though I don't wear them often.”
Po stood up with a groan, “Cheater.”
She tilted her head with amusement, “How did I cheat? Dresses do limit my movement.”
He caught up to her, “You surprised me.”
She raised an eyebrow, “Shouldn't you be used to me surprising you by now?”
“The dress threw me off!” He protested.
She looked like she was about to respond, but the rest of the Five joined them. Viper, it might be noted, was not wearing a dress due to practical impossibility. Once complements were traded, they strode to the hall. Po wasn't sure, but he thought he saw Tigress give him a small, short, almost soft, smile. He grinned. She did care, even if she would only show the barest emotions. For him, that was good enough.
