Work Text:

Sitting in the audience, Alastor watched as that tiny little king walked his daughter down the aisle, both of them teary eyed. Like father like daughter, Alastor supposed.

He didn't really care much that Lucifer walked with her, but what did bother him - for definitely absolutely no reason at all - was the fact that he wasn't part of the ceremony at all. He didn't even get to stand by Charlie, when he'd been there more than Lucifer!

He rolled his eyes at the thought, and slumped in his seat. His black suit with green accents crumpled along with him. He didn't care, though it had taken forever to get it straight and smooth in the first place. Actually, he didn't care about anything! Why should he be mad he wasn't up there with his manager? It wasn't like he was jealous or anything! Heavens no!

An unexpected burst of clapping from both sides of him startled him enough to sit back up in his seat. What? Why were they clapping? What did he miss?

He looked back up to the alter, and... It was done. Vaggi and Charlie were now officially married. And he was missed it, because he was too caught up in his own selfish thoughts. Or, no! Not selfish at all!

But even then... He was disappointed. Both for missing it, and still yet, not being able to... Be there. Just to show everyone that he mattered just as much.

Alastor sighed, looked down, and then back up to begin clapping. No matter what he was worried about, he could at least be happy for them. They were "Hell's Cutest Couple" after all, as stated on some silly picturebox report he had overheard before. He knew for a fact it wasn't Vox's doing for getting that on the news. Who it was then, he didn't know.

Not really with the widest smile, still clapping slowly, he suddenly perked up as he watched Charlie leap off of the alter, and begin running down the aisle. And for what?

To storm into Alastor's row to give him a hug.

"I did it, Alastor! I'm married!" The newly wed said, eyes closed and teary while clinging onto her host.

Tensed and more surprised than anything, Alastor let out a sigh of relief and placed a hand on Charlie's shoulder. "Indeed you did, my dear." And normally, he would have relished the fact that he got a death glare from her father, but really, he barely even noticed him.

Suddenly, Charlie pushed him away and looked up at him wide eyed. "I still need to throw by bouquet!" She said hurriedly. Ah, yes. The ever so silly tradition of throwing your bouquet into the audience.

As Charlie picked up her dress and began running again, Alastor followed at a walking pace behind. Charlie stood back at the alter out of breath, her wife laughing at her enthusiasm. Charlie cleared her throat with a serious face, then let it melt away as she began to speak. "It's time to throw my bouquet. Whoever catches it is the next one to get married!" She squealed and jumped as the last word left her mouth.

As she finished speaking, Alastor noticed Angel jump out of his seat away from Husk, who grabbed onto Angel's arm, only for him to pull away and run excitedly in front of Charlie, where everyone else was gathering. Although Husk let out what seemed to be a disappointed sigh, he smiled at the pink spider, and Alastor knew exactly why.

Charlie turned around and held the bouquet up above her head. As she moved, Niffty scuttered around the ground, hands in the air before Charlie even threw it. Cherri, near Angel, looked more focused than she ever had before,

And suddenly, Alastor had an idea. And awful idea. A wonderful, awful idea (wait, that sounds familiar...).

He would catch the bouquet. And all these poor desperate souls would have to simply wait normally, instead of letting a stupid bunch of flowers decide their fate.

As Charlie pulled the bouquet back in preparation to throw it, Alastor got his shadow tentacles ready. He stared intently at the girl, waving the bouquet forward, back, forward, back, and...

It finally launched high into the air, and the crowd below went absolutely ballistic. Avoiding the squealing and running all around him, Alastor kept a close eye on the red and white flowers that matched Charlie's long, flowy wedding dress.

And as it slowly came closer to the ground, Alastor used his tentacles to push himself high into the air, and he grabbed the stems of the bouquet right in front of everyone, who gasped as he stayed elevated in above them by his magic shadows. Charlie turned around, and as she saw Alastor, began to look confused, then worried.

"I believe," he began, as a small, small flame crept up the stems, "that no one will get married next!" The entire bouquet burst into flames in front of his audience, as he laughed maniacally. This should get back at all those people who decided he shouldn't be apart of the wedding.

He heard more gasps, an "Alastor!" from Charlie, an annoyed "Oh, come on!" from Angel, and several other words of disgust directed at him. He looked down to see a sea of frowns and groans. Just what he wanted...

~

Alastor recalled the memory almost fondly, as he fixed his hair in a mirror. More than 10 years ago it was when he pulled that stunt. And now...

"Alastor! Almost ready? The crowd's getting antsy!" He turned around to see Charlie in a dashing bright red gown, his gorgeous groom's maid and soon-to-be step daughter. He chuckled at the memory of simply being a spectator in her wedding, just for her to be a main piece in his.

"Of course, I was just coming out now!" He moved away from the mirror and over to Charlie. "How do I look?"

Charlie smiled softly, handing him a bouquet a flowers. "You look amazing." They both smiled at each other for a long moment, until Charlie finally pushed him out onto the aisle. She hurried back up to the alter, and gave him two thumbs up.

Alastor took a deep breath, and looked out to where his fiance, soon to be husband stood.

From this day forward, he would be married to the man of his dreams. He would be Mr. Morningstar-Hartfelt. Lucifer and Alastor. The most unsuspected, yet perfect pair in Hell.

Notes:

I made this in one go so it might be ass. Idk I'm tired. And yes, I decided Alastor's last name was Harfelt, sue me if you must.

Hope you liked it!
