Jay feels the acid rise up his throat, bubble over and fizz out like bile. He bites his tongue, runs it harshly over the sharp edge of his teeth until he draws blood, stopping whatever’s on the tip from vomiting out.
Jungwon’s searching his eyes, grasping onto his hand until his knuckles turn white, grasping like he’s going to disappear if he lets go for even a second. “Jay.” His eyes are pleading, but that can’t be right, because Jungwon never pleads. “I said I was sorry.”
