Work Text:
“Isagi!!” Bachira squealed, “We could become idols!!” “O-Okay bachira..” Isagi said reluctantly. They practiced day and night, relentlessly dancing, practicing faces and so on. When they went to the audition, they gave it their best, and hoped that the both of them would get into the idol industry. A month later, they got the results , Bachira could hardly wait, he was ecstatic, even more energized than usual. As Isagi opened the envelope, a drop of sweat came down his forehead. “Come on Isagi!” Bachira said impatiently. Isagi took the letter out carefully and unfolded it. He read the words and his eyes widened, “Bachira. Here.” He said flatly. Bachira read the letter and started crying. “I’m so happy..for .. you.. Isagi..” He sobbed. “I’m sorry Bachira, I c-can decline it!” Isagi said, trying to comfort Bachira. “No, Isagi, it's fine. Go.” Then they hugged. A month later, Isagi had his first performance, and Bachira was there to cheer him on. Bachira kissed Isagi’s hand as he stepped up on stage, “Good luck, love.” Bachira said. Isagi was instantly blinded by the stage lights but he sang and danced like no one was watching.
A month later, Bachira was walking around the city and saw Isagi on a billboard, he had no shirt and was in a collar. Bachira thought that was disgusting. When Bachira tried seeing Isagi to give him flowers, instead, Isagi just discarded them. He looked burnt out and tired, and the spark in his beautiful eyes was gone. A week later, Isagi and Bachira were walking to Bachira’s house, and Isagi pulled out a cigarette, with a lighter. The Isagi Bachira knew would never. So Bachira pulled the cigarette out of his mouth and tried to reason with him. “You never used to smoke! What happened?” Bachira said with concern. “Don’t worry about it.” Isagi mumbled. “No, I should worry!” Bachira yelled. Then a hand came across Bachira’s face, smack dab on his cheek. It stung, both the slap and Isagi’s words.”...Please Isagi we can fix this .... we can fix you!” Bachira sobbed while grabbing Isagi’s hand. Isagi pulled away, but when bachira hugged him, he got a flashback of their childhood, one causing him to violently pull away from him.
“Ack!” Isagi exclaimed. “Hah!...You think I want to be like this!? I-I…well…no! Leave me alone!” Isagi yelled as tears came down his face. Then he ran off not knowing a zombie was right around the corner, waiting to attack.
Three weeks later, Bachira snuck into a containment zone for the infected, hoping to find Isagi. And he did. Isagi sat there, twitching, tape over his eyes, tape, taping him to the walls. Bachira looked at him, admiring his love, beautifully insane. Bachira ran a finger through Isagi’s mouth, while blushing.
Now, at Zombie Stage ..
Isagi, now almost braindead, was performing a song with bachira, the fans chanting and cheering as the song had just ended. Bachira smiled and caressed his lover’s face, his lover’s decaying, beautiful face, “Last one.” Bachira mumbled softly as he leaned in for one, last, kiss. Happy End!
Chigiri sat in the crowd, appalled by what just happened, eyes wide, mouth hanging in shock and disgust. He put a hand over his mouth, seemingly to hold his vomit.
The points were racking up, and in the end, Isagi won.
Bachira was taken away, laid on a wooden table, with a cleaver jammed into it. 2 masked figures held up the cleaver and swung. The world went grey as bachira got his arm cut off, with a smile. It seemed Isagi was singing a new song. His voice rang through Bachira’s ears, as sweet as honey, is this…what made him happy?
It seemed Reo knew this tune as well. He whistled it, in chains, in darkness, and let out a sound almost like a chuckle.
ROUND ONE, OVER.
