Work Text:
What nobody had known, now everyone did: He’d been with Bucky, and the damn carnations had been a big enough give away then, too.
In apparently random intervals, he’d start feeling the telltale tingle in his throat. Not even the serum could keep him from that fate, it seemed.
The flowers were supposed to kill him, tied as they were to Bucky. Instead, they stopped after a while. Again and again.
He didn’t understand. But it wouldn’t have surprised him if the serum fought the flowers, keeping him alive.
He understood perfectly when he ripped off the Winter Soldier’s mask.
