   Summary

   There was a problem. There had always been a problem. He just didn't realize there was a problem, or rather, his brain didn't let him realize it, because there was no solution. 

   Fact: Eridians couldn't survive in his atmosphere.

   Fact: he’d never be touched by anyone ever again without some form of barrier in the way.

   Fact: two of these three things were potentially no longer true, and he hadn't known a friendly touch in literally a decade or longer.
