   Summary

   Hayes reached the bottom landing of the dugout. He could see their mud-splattered boots in the shadow of the ammunition table, and not for the first time, he felt that he did not belong inside that dugout.
   “... used your own words for once, instead of speaking in cryptic fucking quotations!”
