Chapter Text
“Ze! Zeee!!!”
The sounds of muffled shouts compiled behind the door to Ze’s bedroom. He groaned, shifting underneath the sheets and blanket that felt a little too comfortable to leave. Sitting up, he ran his fingers through his hair and opened his eyes to find the darkness of his room, minus the cracks of yellow light from behind the door. Rain pattered the window as the moon was covered by clouds. The typically navy blue night was gray and foggy, the outside washed over with muddy tones.
It must still be night. Or early morning. Ze arose, now annoyed (and slightly scared) at the earliness of a disturbing Regect hollering his name. He rubbed the palm of his hand against his eyes, furrowing his brows and trying to face away from the window. What could Regect possibly want from him right now?
He exited his room, yearning for the peace of his bed, and began making his way down the stairs. Before he could completely go down, he heard a quaint stern honking, paired along with “uh huhs” and “yeahs” which were undeniably Regect. Curious, he peered through the railing (which were iron bars, but it counted). Moe was holding a box carefully in her arms, and held her horn between her teeth and bit down every time she began stating instructions. Instructions for what?
Ze took one step after another, reaching the bottom of the stairwell. The dining room was dimly lit, and honestly looked creepy under yellow light. Though, Ze paid no mind and snuck behind Moe. He raised his hand, tapping her on the shoulder. Moe was slightly startled, jolting from the sudden contact. She whipped around, and honked for what sounded like relief at the sight that it was just Ze.
I guess the dark really does scare everyone.
“Honk honk honk??” Moe swung her hands forward and gripped Ze’s arms, shaking him back and forth. Ze
“Moe, calm down, I just woke up, cut me some slack. Anyways, what are you guys doing?” Ze looked at Moe, pointing down at the box in her arms. She looked down, and then grinned a big smile.
An assortment of honks came after, Moe occasionally leaving a moment of silence in between to let Ze collect the information.
“Okay. So you’re leaving for your travelling circus and want us to take this package from you,” Ze sighed, shifting his stance and leaning on his right leg. He looked at Moe “But you still haven’t answered me. Moe, What’s in the box?”
Regect sighed, looking down to his left while crossing his arms above his chest. “She wants us to take care of platypus eggs.”
Ze paused. His brows angled, and averted his gaze to the box.
“What eggs..?”

“Ze and Regect stared at Moe, the box that layed in her hands was now set on the table before both of them as she went to grab her bag to leave.
"Honk?"
"Capache," Ze muttered, Moe grabbing her suitcase and heading out the door. As it shut, Ze slowly turned his head to look at Regect, who was opening the box. Inside was an incubator with the platypus eggs, to which he opened it up happily picking one up.
"If we drop any of those eggs, I'm blaming you. And put that back, you can’t candle them long." Ze glared at Regect, watching the smile fade into a rolling eye and a scoff.
"Look, I might piss you off, but I'm not going to intentionally do something bad in spite of you." Regect placed the egg back, and closed the incubator. He glared at Ze, who turned away to look at the shopping list of supplies Moe had set out for them.
“Okay, let’s see what we need to do first.”
