"During their first meeting, the court-mandated therapist uses the word ‘agoraphobia’. It sticks out from a long string of other words that Vera nods along to but doesn’t take in. It’s the only part of the conversation she remembers afterward, but she firmly tells herself that it doesn’t matter much anyway. It’s something she’s always known about herself, with or without a word to define it. The word doesn’t seem to make it any easier to deal with, so Vera decides to file it away somewhere in the back of her brain and move on."
Or, with some help from friends, Vera slowly recovers from the events of her father's murder and the effect they've had on her long-time fear of the outside.
