Kataang Week Soulmates Day 1 Prompt!

Katara’s soulmark had feathers. Not scales, not fins, not fur— feathers. Everyone had a soulmark. A silvery-white shape on their bodies where their soulmate would touch them first. Then, once they touched, black marks would spread across the soulmark, in a language long forgotten by her people.

Aang had just been given his wings. And the minuscule soulmark on his arm had been extended onto them.

First Flight was a rite of passage for the seraphim. However, Aang wasn’t necessarily a seraph. For example, Monk Gyatso took on the form of an old man when traveling. He wasn’t an old man, though. He could barely be categorized as a man, since his true air seraph form was a mass of eyes with six wings. The same went for every air nomad, except for Aang. He was the Avatar, which meant his form was strictly humanoid— and bound to the world.
