Chapter Text
The sun's orange hue was shining into the brown of his irises.
Peter's chin laid slumped oh his crossed arms, head reaching slightly out the car window. He let the wind run through curls and leave them a mess.
The glow of golden hour washed over his skin, leaving warmth in its wake. It illuminated Peter's features, making a halo cast over his hair — as if he was some sort of angel.
"Peter." A gentle voice from beside him said. unfortunately Peter was zoning out, and he didn't hear the voice.
"Bambino." That seemed to bring Peter back.
"Ah, I wasn't sure if you were awake, or zoning out, or just overthinking." The voice — Tony said before giving a soft smile and chuckle.
"Sorry Ms'sr Stark," Peter mumbled out. They were close enough for Peter to call the man Tony, but sometimes he slipped up and called him Mister Stark.
"Don't apologize."
"Huh?"
"I'm not going to throw you out the car because you forgot to call me Tony."
"So, should I keep calling you Mister Stark?" Peter said with a cheeky grin.
"Don't test me, Parker." Tony said with no real bite to it.
Tony promised a fun road trip, just the two of them. Peter hadn't know how long they were on the road, nor were they were going.
He was almost certain that there really was no set destination, and Tony just wanted an excuse to spend time with Peter away from the lab. Away from Flash. Away from the stress of saving the world.
Tony's voice broke through Peter's thoughts again, "You look like you're thinking to hard, don't worry about your homework, or whatever it is you're thinking about! This will be fun, trust me." Tony's eyes looked at the road Infront of him. One hand was on the steering whee, and the other was on the space between Peter's thigh and knee.
Peter let out a loud laugh. "That's not even what I was thinking about!" Tony didn't understand why Peter was laughing so hard, but he was happy his boy was laughing at all.
Peter's hand wiped tears from his eyes, still laughing. Tony's face was that of confusion and and amusement.
"Sorry, I just remembered the time I told you I couldn't go to Germany because I had homework! I mean, seriously, who declines a free trip to Germany?" Peter said, still not able to control his laughter. Tony started laughing too while reminiscing the moment.
Once the noise subsided, the two of them sat comfortably in the silence. The sound of the car on the road and the occasional car passing by filled the quiet.
Peter dozed off and was awakened by Tony lightly shaking his shoulder.
"Do you want an American cheeseburger..? There are places still open." Tony whispered in his ear. Peter jumped in his seat, and he whipped his head to look at the older man.
"Sure..." Peter responded, sounding and felling groggy.
"Are you asking me, ore telling me?" Tony asked with a hint of sarcasm.
"I'm telling you I want a cheeseburger, and I'm now asking you if we can get coffee too."
"We can stop for coffee, but I'm not letting you drink any more than 5 cups." Tony answerd.
