It had taken Macaque a while to gather all the necessary items, not to mention extra stuff to bribe Archivist into helping him with this crazy idea.
He enters the cave Archivist instructed him to go to on Huagao, and found that they had already set up the ritual, and was of course waiting for him.
"Sir Liu Er Mihou, are you ready?" The dusty brown Monkey Demon/Yaoguai asks from the edge of the circle. The Archivist stayed back, so as to not accidentally contaminate the ritual, and make sure it doesn't fail spectacularly.
Macaque nods, and carefully steps into the circle, make sure to not smudge any of the lines. Once near the center he places down a jug, 2 big black stones with lines of red minerals, a clump of fur that was multiple colors, and with some careful movements he pushes a precise amount of his shadow magic into the group of items, which also powered the circle.
When the full circle lit up, Macaque pulls forth two pieces of shadow, and put each into the stones. Then he hops out of the circle, onto a specific spot while chanting a spell.
The ritual went on for an unknown amount of time, both were more focused on it staying stable. The items in the center fuse, and meld around the 2 stones, slowly at first, then it picked up as the light from the circle gets brighter and brighter. Basically blinding the two.
Then the light goes out, leaving two floating stones that glowed dimly with Macaques magic, before they started to fall. Only to be caught by Macaque using his shadows. He looks at them in aw, and turns to Archivist.
They approach before casting a diagnostic spell on the stones. Looking over the results didn't take long, "Congratulations Your Highness. The ritual was a success. Now to just wait for them to hatch." Archivist chirps, showing Macaque the results.
"Which is going to be the hard part for my patience." Macaque replies. He pulls a sling from his robes, and carefully puts the eggs into it. Then there's a laugh from Archivist, "Something funny?"
"I'm sorry sir, but the way you positioned the eggs makes it look like you have a bit of a chest." They answer while stifling their laughs.
Macaque looks down, and sees what they mean, "I will look for something else later. I'll just deal with this until I get back to my nest. Thank you again for helping me Archivist."
"And once more, you are welcome sir. Just let me know when they hatch. I want to see them, and not to mention his Majesties reaction, if he doesn't learn of them sooner." Archivist remarks.
~some time later~
Macaque and Archivist watch with anticipation as the stones start cracking, he had somehow kept this from Wukong, but he knows the Monkey King will be around soon enough.
The stones crack a bit more, and then out pop a set of black furred red masked Monkey Cubs. Though if you looked close enough there was a slight sheen of gold to their fur.
They let out little chirps, and Macaque moves forward so that he's who they see first, even if they were technically already imprinted on him.
"Welcome back to the world Rumble and Savage." Macaque tells them softly.
Only for a commotion to be heard as Wukong makes himself known.
The Monkey King was about to loudly ask what was going on, only to spot the Cubs. He stops, and just stares at the two. "Wha- Mihou?"
"Let me explain your Majesty." Archivist pipes up, and begins to explain what had happened.
"So are they purely your Cubs." Wukong asks with a bit of some emotion in his voice.
Macaque smiles, "Well there's a small bit of you in there, but they of course take after me."
That makes Wukong perk up a bit, which slightly confused him since he hadn't thought about having kids, let alone ones actually related to him.
"Should they have titles? Or just wait until they grow up?" Wukong asks.
"Well they might have an accelerated growth since I did put two of my shadow clones into the eggs. So we should wait before making any decisions." Macaque answers.
And thus Rumble and Savage were no longer Shadow Clones, but actual Cubs of Macaques.
Yes, MK/Xiaotian was a bit surprised, but he said this made sense... he just has to make sure his own Clones don't get any ideas.
