Summary
Shane Hollander is one of the fastest-rising stars hockey has ever seen. Ilya Rozanov was shooting right up into the sky with him until an unfortunate injury his rookie season. Rumors of an addiction to pain killers and a car accident surrounded his mysterious separation from the Boston Raiders, but Shane doesn't have a way to reach out to him, and even if he did... one very hot night in a hotel room doesn't mean that Rozanov wants to hear from him. Shane assumes that Ilya has gone home to Russia, and definitely doesn't think about him... all the time.
Ilya doesn't like to think or talk about the unfortunate circumstances that led him to where he is now. Hockey was his escape, and without it he quickly fell into old habits. Alexei Rozanov got caught up in illegal operations in Russia and fled to the United States, where he continued his criminal enterprises. When Ilya runs out of funds, his brother puts him to work, and soon Ilya captains his own regional crew of criminals.
When they finally meet again, Shane becomes determined to find out what happened to derail Ilya's life... and becomes desperate to help him put the train back on the tracks.
