Princess Pink Hearts was humming herself a tune while arranging her stuffed animals around her bed. She was going to return to Auradon today with her sister, Red, and she had to make sure her generously decorated pink bedroom was spotless before she left.

Two days ago, they held a grand celebration of the successful rescue mission that freed her mother, Queen Bridget Hearts, and Queen Cinderella from the clutches of the mad villain, Maddox Hatter. It was a treacherous journey filled with challenges and obstacles, but they persevered and saved Wonderland from imminent doom.

Her door opened slightly and Red, her sister, poked her head inside. "Hey Pink, are you ready to go?"

"Just a sec!"

“Alright, I’ll be downstairs.” Red gave a small wave as she slowly closed the door behind her.

Pink quickly placed the last stuffed animal at the center and briefly flattened her covers.

“Hmmm, what else?” She scanned her room and quickly spotted the red tin box with the words "Pink + Red's Treasures” written on the lid. With a wide smile, Pink skipped over towards the container and stuffed it inside her fuzzy heart sling bag.

“A perfect fit.” She exclaimed.

As she headed for the door, she looked around her room one last time.

“I will miss you, room. Stay clean and tidy while I’m gone.” She blew a kiss in the air before going outside.

In the hall, Red was waiting at the foot of the stairs, giggling and smiling so widely to herself. As Pink was going down the steps, she couldn’t help but notice and slowly snuck up on her.

“Whatcha doing?”

A voice spoke directly into Red’s ear and she nearly leaped out of her skin. Her phone slipped from her fingers before she caught it clumsily against her chest. She whirled around to find Pink widely grinning at her.

“Pink! You should really stop doing that. You almost gave me a heart attack.” She placed a hand on her chest as she let out a deep breath.

Pink giggled. “Apologies, sister dear. I just couldn’t help but notice you being giddy all over your phone.”

A faint blush spread across Red’s cheeks. Her gaze suddenly fell on the marbled floor, as if the polished tiles became the most fascinating thing in the room.

She cleared her throat, staring down at her shoes. “It’s nothing… I’m just talking to Luis, that’s all.”

Pink smirked into a playful smile. She gently bumped her shoulder against Red’s with a giggle. “Luis, huh? Did you guys finally decide to go out for the weekend?”

“Well…” Red found herself grinning widely. “...maybe?”

Pink’s eyes lit up like a pair of high-beams. “Really?!” She quickly embraced Red into a tight squeeze as she squealed in excitement. “Oh, I am so happy for you, Red!”

“Okay! Okay! I can’t breathe.”

“Sorry!” Pink freed her, and Red couldn’t help but laugh.

“Thank you, Pink.” Taking her sister’s hand, she took a step towards the door. “Come on, Mom is waiting for us outside.”

Outside the courtyard, the palace staff was loading their luggage into the heartmobile’s trunk. Bridget was standing by the car. As Red and Pink emerged from the entrance, hand in hand, she couldn’t help but quickly rush over to hug her daughters.

“Oh my beautiful girls, I am going to miss you so, so, so, so, so, sooooooooo much.” Bridget gave them both a kiss on the cheek each before stepping back.

“Awwwww, mom… We’ll miss you too.” Red placed a hand over her chest as she smiled warmly.

“Don’t forget to drink the butterfly pea teas I packed for you both, alright? Oh, and make sure to try the singing pansies teacakes alongside them. I gave you ten boxes, so it should be enough to share with all of your friends. Just make sure to tell them of the singing before they eat, okay?”

“Ten? Wow thank you, Mom. You’re the best!” Pink gave her mother a tight hug. Bridget hugged her back with the same intensity and pulled Red as she gave them one last squeeze before letting go.

“You both must really love hugs.” Red chuckled as Pink playfully rolled her eyes at her.

“Come on, don’t pretend you don’t like it.”

The three of them laughed together one last time before the girls headed towards the car.

“Goodbye, Mom! See you at Parents’ Day!” Pink gave a cheerful wave as she and Red hopped inside the car.

“Goodbye, my daughters!” Bridget waved back with queenly grace before blowing them a kiss.

As the car engine started, Bridget shuffled her cards before making one fly up in the air. The card exploded into a bunch of rose petals, each of which burst into fireworks one by one.

The girls watched the colorful lights in awe as they departed the palace for Auradon Prep.
