During the preparations for Zuko’s attendance and stall for his first Gather, hosted in Ruatha Hold, were two fire lizard impressions to note: green Zully to PIemur, who had stopped by to visit, and a blue to Lytol the day before.
Piemur impressed Zully the same way Brekke had her Seaweed - by accident while appeasing the rest of Zuko’s horde.
Lytol, however, had woken in the middle of the night and noticed the unusual amount of activity and gone to check, only to have a newly hatched blue fire lizard, large white dot on the tip of his snout, thrust into his hands with a half shredded fish. It was the early hours of morning, long after the frenzy had died down, that the man realized what happened.
Zuko, covered in newborn fire lizards, had awkwardly comforted the old man through this fresh wave of grief for a while before handing him a freshly butchered fish right before his new little blue fire lizard woke up, crying in hunger.

Nearly a month later, on a rare day when Jaxom, Sharra, and Menolly were able to visit at roughly the same time to check in and share a meal, eggs from different nests started shaking and the half a weyr’s worth of fire lizards were humming.
Zuko, in desperation, thrust eggs into the three visitors’ startled hands before any eggs cracked open (30) and Kin, Koh’s Lair, and Baijin, his golds, started dumping hatchlings, some still partly in their shells, into his lap while Zongse, Folium, and Arena shove bits of meat into his hands. He considered it a success and wondered if he could do it again.

Zuko took several nests with him to visit Ruatha. He invited several people to sit with him, parents of the children who’d led him around the Gather, journeymen and women of various crafts who’d admitted to having missed seeing dragons on Search or having to turn down the opportunity for one reason or another.
When he left, he left several white and spotted fire lizards behind, and an agreement with his own not to give so many away at once again as long as he got to give some away occasionally.
