To suffer your own demise just so others don’t feel the same way? “

Work Text:

Over and over
Ten times over.

݁ .‧₊⋆.٠༺✶༻٠.⋆₊‧. ݁

One time over,
My hands carry spears
that stab my skin

Two times over,
I feel their sharpness
pierce my dearest flesh
As my feet continue to step carefully

Three times over,
Red starts to seep from my core
My core,
my only natural sweetener,
myself

Four times over,
Cracks start to form
and glass starts to break
Core pours out
like cream soda

Five times over,
Legs start growing more and more weary
More weak
And pathetic

Six times over,
My knees finally collapse
underneath what was the floor
And what was now just
my blood, tears
my power
My core

Seven times over,
The weight is left
I miss it,
in a way
To hold
something that was a part
of me
Myself
My soul

Eight times over,
My seams,
whatever that is left of me, my soul
dehatch from themselves
So I can be
brand new

Nine times over,
I snap back into place
As one
brand new
Full of full
Full of a brand new core

I do so
To look upon
who I did this for
How they felt
about causing my suffering

They respond with glee
as they hold the one that glows

They never wished for spears

They wished for myself,

my soul

To only wield it in their glory

and not feel it
if I really got to exist

They will never know truth, the one I carry

But it is not their fault,
that they wished for light in the dark

Ten times over

And as my new eyes
gaze into theirs,

I wish they could feel how I did
My pain and agony and suffering

But they never will

And no matter what,
no matter how many times my body has to be formed and born into something new

I’ll do it all again
Just for another just the same

Who is just as naive,
but wishes for a beacon in the night

Just so they won’t have to become what I do

Over and over,
ten times over.
