Work Text:

The first thing that hit Saparata’s eyes was the hazy morning light that had seeped through the gaps of an open curtain. It would’ve been a nice atmosphere feel if not for the skull-splitting headache that decided to show up. O-okay.. not the best way to start the morning… Saps thought to himself, closing his eyes again. He tried sitting up, but a heavy weight on his body prevented him from doing so. He brought a hand up to rub his eyes as he hesitantly opened one just to check his surroundings.

He looked around, yet he didn’t recognize where he was immediately. It was clear he was in a neat bedroom of someone who liked purple and black a lot, and it seemed familiar, but not very quickly recognizable. He tried getting up, but that weight holding him down wasn’t just his imagination. Finally deciding to check just what was on him, he tried bringing his head up to get a better look at him—until a wave of dizziness got him to crash his head back down on the pillow.

Using only his eyes to look at the top part of what was on him, it seemed like hair. It was mainly black, small purple streak came from the sides and front. As confused as he was, that’s when it clicked. Flux was laying on him, and he was in Flux’s room. All he needed now was to remember what happened last night, and why his head hurt so bad. Honestly, it felt like a brick had been thrown at it. He looked up at the ceiling—racking his brain to remember.

Although, the moment of remembrance was cut short as he tasted a vile taste in his mouth, threatening to spill out of his mouth any second. He quickly and unwillingly shoved Flux off, jumping off the bed and rushing out of the room to their bathroom.

Meanwhile, Fluixon had started to stir after being pushed off so suddenly. Softly groaning as he opened up his eyes, he surprisingly saw no Saps beneath him. …Nor anywhere on his bed. He looked around his room, slightly dazed and with a pounding headache of his own. “Saps?” He called out, receiving no answer, but, he expected it, if anything. He flopped back down on his bed, too tired to get up. He chalked Saps’ disappearance to him simply going back to his room.

After a quick minute of laying there, doing nothing, he decided to get a snack so he could take some ibuprofen. He got off his bed and walked to his door, albeit almost tripping on his carpet. His head made the room spin.

When he left the room, a noise caught his attention. It was the clear sound of puking. Only remembering the end of last night, he slowly walked towards the slightly open door. “F- Flux?” Saps called out from inside. His voice sounded weak and shaking. He had been hurling for a good few minutes even before Flux walked out. His voice was breathy with it, taking in deep, soothing breaths to ease himself down. Flux’s hand gently gripped the doorknob but he didn’t open it immediately. “May I?”

Flux asked it gently, ready to leave if Saps wanted. “Door’s-“ Saps audibly gagged, groaning from discomfort afterwards. “-open. Literally.” He continued it warily. “Seriously?” Flux said blankly. He hadn’t exactly been expecting a bad joke even while he’s puking his guts out. Saps made a small huff of amusement at his reaction. Flux pushed the door open and peeked in slowly, seeing Saps sitting just in front of the toilet. His eyes looked glazed, his hair was still messy. It didn’t look like Saps had moved from that spot for a sizeable chunk of time.

“That bad…?” Flux questioned while he kneeled down next to him. Saps nodded as Flux tucked locks of hair behind his ears—moving hair that went in front of him to his back. Saps smiled at him gratefully. It got wiped off of his face quickly as he lurched frontwards for another round of puking. Flux held his bangs up with a gentle grip so he wouldn’t get bile on there either nor pull his hair. Flux looked away, just to spare himself from retching as well.

It went on for a couple minutes with small breaks. “F- fuck… what the hell was I on last night?…” Saps murmured—leaning backwards to sit after almost falling towards Flux. Even if the man was already set to catch him. “Not sure… though, I think we did go out drinking with Schpood and Turntapp so.. probably contributors. We’ll remember soon enough.” Flux answered. A hint of dislike accompanied by a hiss in his tone as he mentioned Schpood and Turntapp. It had always been a trait he always showed once mentioning the two, or, if they showed up.

Saps hummed quietly, his gaze drifting away to the ground. He already knew why Flux had such dislike for the two, after all, they could be quite overbearing and would definitely be the type of people Flux would be annoyed by. He brought a hand up to wipe some sweat off of his forehead. Loose strands of hair had already began sticking to his face. He let out a shaky sigh. “That better have been one hell of a night if I’m feeling like this right now..”

He commented. Flux stayed silent. Saps brought his hand up and nudged Flux’s to say he could let go now. Flux took a moment to do so. “Flux?” Saps called out, bringing his head up to see what Flux was doing. But.. he was just… staring at him. He looked.. starstruck. But as soon as Flux be noticing him looking at him, his face flushed lightly while he let go of his hair and stood up abruptly. “I- I’ll assume you’re doing better now. I’ll get you some water.”

He stated, his voice cracking and his words coming out in a rush. “O- okay?” Before Saps could even think about it, Flux had already walked out. Although, Saps smiled to himself as Flux left. It didn’t quite take a genius to notice him staring like Saps looked like a grand masterpiece. As Saps stood up to wash his face and rinse his mouth of that awful taste, Flux’s cuteness let him be at least a little distracted from his headache and dizziness… along with the fact he wanted to collapse not a second after standing up.

As Flux made his way to the kitchen, all his mind was filled up with was the fascination on how Saps could look good in any situation. Even with his hair messy, mouth slightly agape, looking like he had gone through hell and back, he still looking as handsome and beautiful as always.

Saps couldn’t help but chuckle to himself as he gave himself downtime to make sure he was okay. He loved knowing Flux had a sweeter, adoring side. The fact Flux mainly showed it to him only made him love it more.

Flux opened the door, not coming in but only reaching the glass of water to Saps. “I’ll cook us some breakfast. Don’t take anything since i presume you haven’t eaten anything.” Flux stated. His tone more warning than anything. Saps grumbled under his breath, nodding afterwards despite the urge to go against just because he could. He pushed it down as he took the glass, about to chug it down, but stopping as Flux pushed the door open even wider to give him a quick peck on the cheek.

Flux stepped backwards immediately, walking out, then shutting the door. Saps’ surprise didn’t mean he didn’t enjoy it though. He stared at the place where Flux was, taking a moment to peel his eyes away and actually down the cup of water. The considerably hot liquid doing wonders to make him feel better. He set the glass down on the sink, deciding, since Flux would cook, he’d go take a shower to kill some time.

The coldness of the water against Saps’ skin was a pleasant feeling after the absolute BATTLE he just had to endure. He made sure he was dry enough that his clothes wouldn’t stick to him, but, keep his hair still wet as he couldn’t bother with it for now. He walked out the bathroom, running a hand through his hair as he turned the corner to peek at their kitchen, seeing nothing there but a boiling kettle and two glass cups with tea bags in them.

He diverted his gaze as he walked to their living area, finding who he expected on the couch. Flux’s legs crossed on their couch as Saps walked closer. Two plates of food were in front of him as he leaned his head on a pillow he was cuddling while texting someone. A pang of… jealousy sparked through Saps. He knew it was stupid. After all, it was a pillow. Nonetheless, he approached him from behind, trying to be as quiet as he could, then, he wrapped his arms around Flux’s chest area and resting his head on Flux’s shoulder.

Flux made a small hum as he brought his head up, leaning his back on the couch. Unsurprised like always. He shut his phone and placed it on the table next to the plate in front of him.

“What’d ya make?” Saps questioned curiously. … He was already eyeing the plates before he even asked. Both were fried eggs, with chopped avocados and bananas on toast. It was simple, but it still looked tasty.

“Look for yourself. I’m also making ginger tea.” Flux replied as Saps continued eyeing the food. Saps walked around the couch to sit beside Flux. He stared at the food but didn’t touch it yet. He crossed his leg over another as Flux’s gaze was trained on the kettle. A moment of silence between the two arrived then passed. Flux glanced back at him as he stood up, speaking while walking to the kitchen.

“I have to eat too. After we finish eating, you can show how smitten you are for me. And, you’ll get ibuprofen. Sound good?”

Saps smiled, picking up the piece of toast and letting the sound of the crunch of the egg and toast as his verbal answer. It had lost most of its heat, and the toast had gotten more soft, but he didn’t mind either of them. It was simple, but a good mix of food while he was already hungry. “Mmm.. did you butter the toast too?” He asked after he finished chewing his bite. “You like stuff extra buttered.” Flux stated, pouring the boiling water in the cups.

His casualness got Saps to pause. He, in fact, did like his food extra buttered. He couldn’t remember when he told Flux that, or how he found out. “I do…” The thought slipped through and became verbal. Flux hadn’t noticed. His attention was solely on bringing the cups to their coffee table and sitting back down. Saps continued to eat his food, a somewhat puzzled look on his face. “You have to wait a bit for the tea.” Flux commented as he sat down.

“I noticed. I’m not stupid.”

“Even the most gullible people wouldn’t fall for that.”

“You bitch-“

“You love me. Anyway, if you stop talking with your mouth full, I’ll give you ibuprofen.” Flux reached into his pocket.

“…” Saps stayed quiet. Looking away as he continued eating—more quietly now. Flux grinned, knowing he won it this time around. He took the pills out his pocket and laid them down on the table. “Don’t rush to eat, alright? Don’t choke.” He chuckled, watching as the man rolled his eyes while chewing.

As the two finished their plates, Saps glanced at Flux every few moments. While he took the medicine, Flux drank his tea. Saps looked at the empty plate and glass in front of him, waiting for him to put the cup down. When he did, Saps grabbed onto Flux’s shoulders and happily crawled onto his lap. His knees dug into the couch as Flux straddled his waist. He leaned forward and gently nuzzled Flux’s nose with his own. Saps chuckled in delight as the willing victim of his affection let out a sigh of playful exasperation from the action.

Flux let his shoulders relax again. He sunk his back into the couch while Saps buried his face in the area between his shoulder and neck. He took a quick sniff, humming to himself as he wondered what Flux’s scent like reminded him off. “You smell like ginger. It soothes my head a bit.” He smiled—closing his eyes to avoid the blaring light through the window. It’d only make the headache worse. His hand, caressing Flux’s cheek, felt Flux’s cheek heat up. “Wh- what are you? Some kind of excited puppy?” He scoffed. Even so, his arms locked in place around the mid-section of Saps’ back.

“Hm, should I start excitedly licking your face too? Wouldn’t you like that?” Saps teased. His last question made itself drawl out. His hand, holding Flux’s chin up, carefully tracing his cheek, could easily feel it heating up even more. Flux stammered embarrassedly. “That- that’s disgusting.” He managed. Moving his head out of Saps’ hand and using his other to pull said hand down afterwards.

“I’m not judging~!” Saps sing-songed. His head rose so he could look at the other. His other hand lightly trailed Flux’s side. He started from his waist, rising up to below his armpit—his touches slow little pokes. “What are you even doing anymore?” Flux deadpanned. Side-eyeing him with an icy glare. “No tickle spot?” Saps asked, a small glint of playful sadness in his eyes at the lack of weakness from his partner. Flux using the bottom of his palm to push Saps’ head away by his forehead.

“Try better next time, my pitiful little dove.” Flux hummed as he ruffled Saps’ hair. The older of the two grumbled while he inched his body closer to him—getting into a more comfortable position. Flux ran his fingers through Saps hair, combing out the tangles from his hair. Saps was too lazy to get his comb from his room before immediately walking out into the kitchen, so, he missed almost every tangle. The combination of the repetitively soothing motion and comforting position they were in was slowly pulling Saps into sleep.

The only reason Saps decided to fight it back was the suddenness of Flux taking his hair—separating a couple sections in between his fingers and braiding them. He was precise with being gentle with Saps’ hair as to not tug too hard. It was a pleasant sensation. “Now what are you doing…?” Saps asked quietly, curiosity making up the entirety of his voice.

“Braiding your hair. Wasn’t that obvious?”

Saps hummed, his hand squeezing and un-squeezing Flux’s waist like a kneading kitten. “Ohh… I always forgot how to do that when Jophiel tried to teach me.”

“Hm… I see. Why are you not asleep yet?” Flux’s voice became quieter and softer. His voice reminded Saps of a bird’s gentle lullaby. Every word led him towards sleep more and more. “Wha…?” Saps wasn’t really paying attention to Flux’s words.

“I can hear the tiredness in your voice.” He explained while he affectionately scratched Saps’ scalp. Saps mumbled something unintelligible against Flux’s neck—pressing a kiss against Flux’s neck. Their moment closed from the sound of Flux’s phone ringing. The suddenness and loudness being a jarring contrast to the gentle and quiet of the moment. “Can you just… ignore it~…?” Saps drawled, a whine in his voice.

Flux, however, didn’t follow Saps’ attempt to seal all of Flux’s attention on himself. He reached his hand out, picking up his phone and checking who the caller was. “It’s Cass. I’ll make it short.” Flux assured as Saps unwillingly pulled away from him as Flux answered the call.

“Cass.” Flux greeted, his voice monotonous.

“Flux.” She answered back with a matched tone of boredom. “Wake up Saps, yeah? Remind him that he has a test in a few minutes or ask him if I should tell our teacher he’s absent. … again.”

“Shit- I DO?!” Saps exclaimed wildly. Any hint of sleepiness got sapped from his body as he scrambled up from the couch. “Ow- fuck- my ears..” Flux grunted. Saps completely disregarded the fact he was still leaning on Flux from his surprise. He was already opening his room door as he yelled back apologetically. “SORRY FLUX! GIVE ME A MINUTE CASS!”

He rushed in his room, taking the first thing he could see in his closet and changing into it. He made sure it was quite simple so he wouldn’t be late. He finished in record time and ran out. He checked his drawers frantically, looking for his phone, not finding it anywhere. “FLUX-?”

“Your phone and wallet’s in your bag!” Flux answered, predicting Saps’ question before he finished. “Thanks!!” Saps gripped Flux’s shoulder, kissing his cheek. Flux returned the favor. Saps fixed his cardigan and took his bag and ran out. He heard Flux say something as he put on his shoes, but he didn’t understand it as he was already through the door and sprinting down the building. He couldn’t help but notice how his shirt felt quite tight, when his usual clothes were looser.

As he ran into his college building, “Pandora”, he almost fell onto someone from his rush. He barely avoided running into them as he stumbled back. “Oh, god-“ He gagged into his hands. The sudden stop after running full force catching up to him. “Im- I’m so sorry!” He blurted, stumbling back and fixing his hair. His breaths rushed and heavy while he desperately grasped at the illusion that he hadn’t sprinted from the apartment to the school.

His panic faded when the figure just laughed in his face and he realised who it was. It was Cass. And he couldn’t be more glad it was Cass. It was just hard to imagine the embarrassment of accidentally almost crashing into some random person being their student council president.

“Fix your hair dude! It looks like you went through a tornado!” Cass laughed even harder, her hand brushing Saps’ hair down and fixing it. Saps focused on catching his breath and trying not to black out. “Let’s just go…” He sighed tiredly. He wiped the beads of sweat from his forehead off, placing his hand on Cass’ shoulder so he would have some support if he were to fall. She scoffed, letting him do it anyway. As they started walking, her face scrunched up as she looked around.

“Where’s Flux?” Cass asked quite sharply. The question only made Saps confused. “What do you mean? He’s back at our apartment.” He answered as he glanced around himself.

Cass looked at him, then giggled. “Uhhh… n- nevermind.” It only served to fuel Saps’ ever-growing confusion. It bugged him as they made their way to their classroom. He looked at himself, only noticing how his cardigan was definitely something Flux would wear. He payed no heed to it, shrugging it off to make it cover his exposed shoulders. He ran his hand through his hair, noticing how a braid surprised stayed in tact. He nudged Cass. As she looked back up at him, she was smiling hard. Her giggles were barely but obviously being held back.

“Do you have a hair tie?” He asked, his finger pinching the end of the braid to keep it from undoing itself. Cass choppily nodded, taking a hair tie from the bunch enveloping her right wrist. Saps hummed a thanks, carefully wrapping it around his hair as he continued combing through his hair.

Saps assumed Cass’s laughter would die down as they entered their classroom, however, it barely did. He scoffed, nudging her shoulder lightly whilst they made their way to their desks. “Seriously, what’s so funny?” He hissed. Irritation beginning to grow within him. What did Cass see on him that he couldn’t? She shook her head, entirely refusing to look at him. He sucked in a sharp breath, sighing heavily. He would never get an answer from her in this state. Entirely giving up, he sat down and put his bag next to him, taking out his phone.

With a new found sense of determination, Saps put down his phone on his desk, taking out his pencil and pen. He listened keenly as his teacher, Hoffman, explained the material of the quiz. In her hand and in between her arms contained a stack of papers, presumably a paper for each student in the class. She sat behind her desk, giving the papers an individual look through one last time. “5 minute review time to prepare. Nothing more. I’m sure you who studied will be able to do well. It’s only 25 questions.”

Hoffman explained loudly with her noticeable German accent. Saps picked up his phone, looking in his notes-app for the material he had noted down. Extra knowledge would always help even as he already knew the subject greatly. His full attention laid solely on his screen until Cass gave him a small nudge, whispering quietly but amusedly in his ear. “You know.. wearing your boyfriend’s clothes after a night of drunken cuddling is like- sooo-“ Her words were dripping with playfulness.

Nonetheless, the question Saps had been so keenly awaiting the answer for finally got answered, and the truthful answer wasn’t great. The sudden call out caught Saps off guard. He didn’t know what answer he expected, yet, he knew he didn’t expect the actual one. The mentioned cuddling didn’t help either, not when it’s true. He stuttered embarrassedly, his face as red as the borrowed bow around Cass’ neck. “NO??” He blurted out loudly. He probably would prefer to have the truth remaining hidden than this. He pushed Cass away, making her almost fall to the side, her wheezing not any quieter.

“Mr. Theria. Any questions?” Hoffman questioned sternly. Her eyes focused on the target of her rhetorical question. Saps locked up, his shoulder’s stiffened as he stumbled for words in an even worsened panicking state. “N- no- no ma’am.” He pushed out with great effort, burying his face in his hands afterward. Cass, who felt safe from not being called out looked to the side, giggling to herself. “Ms. Bloom, how about you share what’s so funny, hm?” Cass tensed quickly at her last name being called.

“Nothing, madam Hoffman!” She sheepishly smiled. Saps quietly chuckled to himself, the sound thankfully muffled and unheard due to his hands covering his face. Though, the delight wore off and replaced by pain as Cass pinched his side. He yelped, gripping his hair to keep the silence in the classroom. Greta stared at the two coldly, observant and analytic. She hummed after a moment, bringing her attention to the papers once more. Cass could only breathe a sigh of relief, glaring at Saps.

“Your fault.” Saps stated in her ear. His voice biting but light-hearted in nature. Cass scoffed, rolling her eyes. She brought her hand up, flipping her hair in Saps’ face. Saps jolted back, waving his hand in front of his face after Cass’ hair nearly entered his mouth—a move that would both be considered gross by both parties. It made Saps wonder what the purpose of the move even was supposed to be in the first place. He stared at her, brows furrowed, disgruntlement, and confusion etched on his face.

Upon getting no response for a good few seconds, he clicked his tongue and closed his phone. The light and words only served to give him a headache and eye strain. He closed his eyes, hiding his eyes from the blinding light. “Alright. Reviewers, books, notes, put them away. Mr. 5200, pass these out. You may start as soon as you get your paper.” She called out firmly. Thomas, in the front row and closest to Greta, nodded, following out the request swiftly, taking the papers and passing them to the person next to and behind him. Cass hid her notes, sighing.

When Saps received the paper, he looked through the questions, smiling in delight at how easy they were looking. Cass glanced at them, finding them surprisingly easy as well.

* . °•★| ⊶⊰ ✎ ⊱⊷ |☆・。.・゜

The two surprisingly finished at the same time, much to their own shock as well. They certainly weren’t that opposed to it though. Saps and Cass took their bags, handing their papers to Hoffman who nodded in approval as she took them. They weren’t the last to finish, nor were they the first. They walked out together, waving at Thomas who was waiting for them a few feet away from the door, leaning against a wall. “You guys are finally~ done, huh?” He teased, closing his phone and slipping it into his usual jacket pocket.

“Cut us some slack, mr conductor.” Cass rolled her eyes. The two making their way closer to Thomas’ position.

“Alright, alright.” Thomas grinned playfully. Raising his hands up in faux-surrender. He tilted his head curiously. “Are you two gonna go to the apartments now?” He asked, the offer clear within his words. Saps nodded, Cass shook her head.

“Oh? Where are you going?” Saps questioned, curious now as well.

“Cyn’s still in class, we’re gonna visit the park and get some coffee.” She smiled, a hint of blush grazing her cheeks at the mere mention of the girl. Saps chuckled to himself. “Have fun, skittle.” He teased, flicking the red bow around her neck, the brighter color a quite obvious clear contrast to the softer colors of her outfit. It was a piece that simply didn’t belong to her. Cass leaned back, her face scrunched as she shrugged. “And you’re any better, rainbow?”

“Yeah, you even look like you stole Flux’s entire fit, y’know?” Thomas added, his grin only growing wider. Saps stumbled back, his hand running through his hair as he huffed out a breath, embarrassed. Although, the lingering scent of Flux’s perfume was nice. It gave him the idea of Flux’s presence still being next to him. Oddly, it seemed like his favorite smells all mixed; Vanilla, a gentle mint, and the strong shine of Sunflowers. He would’ve wondered if maybe his own cologne had clung to his clothes, but, he knew his cologne didn’t smell like it. A snap in his face snapped Saps out of his daze. He grumbled, swatting Cass’ hand away. “Flustered, ay?” She said. Saps let out a sigh in defeat. Beginning to walk forward with the two matching pace. “Anyways.. you never told me Micro could actually bake, Saps!” Thomas happily changed the subject. A bigger smile on his face. Cass and Saps however, looked more shocked and worried.

“I mean.. yeah. How else did you think he made the brownies?” Saps replied, his worry evident in his voice. Thomas huffed an amused hum.

“I thought they were made with the box ones? Anyway, don’t worry, I didn’t eat any of the brownies,” Cass sighed a breath of relief. “I ate a few huge cupcakes from his fridge last night. They were damn good too!” Saps froze in disbelief. Cass’ mouth gaped. Saps was the first to speak.

“Thomas… he puts a shit ton of weed in each one of those?!”

Thomas!!?”

“Oh. Well no damn I was and still am feeling so high-blooded. When Micro said I seemed ‘high as fuck’ I thought he was flirting with me...”

“Nah.. he’s gonna get a heart attack later… r.I.p Thomas 5200… we never loved you..” Saps said to himself, his hand covering his mouth as he desperately tried not to burst out laughing from the absurdity of their predicament. Cass definitely appeared more serious and way more concerned despite her usual small dislike for him.

“I know your brother definitely does love me~”

God, if you’re out there, whatever you are, please send a car going 80 kilometers an hour in Thomas’ way whenever he crosses the road. Preferably make it hit him everytime. Saps thought, pleadingly.

Saps waved goodbye to Thomas, who sadly made it back through their walk in one piece as they entered their respective apartments. Saps directed his gaze inside, walking in and shutting the door. He looked around, one person continuously stuck in his mind. He looked down, changing his excited expression to a more somber one. Nonetheless, looking all around the open living room, he couldn’t find who he was searching for. He lightly grumbled, hanging his bag on the rack near the door and taking his shoes off. He took his phone, slipping it in his pocket.

He hummed a soft tune, making his way through the apartment. He glanced at the coffee table, then at the kitchen. Clean dishes were on the dish rack, as he expected. He chuckled under his breath, noting what he would tease Flux with next in his head. He made his way to the short hallway, entering Flux’s room. “Flux~…?” He drawled—his voice holding a twinge of disappointment and full of sadness—only to look around the room and finding no one in it. He blinked, confused.

He paused, taking his phone from his pocket. He checked the screen, finding no notifications. It was odd. Flux would definitely have told him if he left. He retracted his steps, closing the door in front of him again. He flicked his gaze to the end of the hall, the bathroom door slightly ajar. Flux would never do that. The only other room Flux may be in was… Saps’ own room. He stared at his room’s door, his brain wracking the possibilities to explain why Flux would possibly be in his room randomly for. He certainly didn’t mind it, it was simply a bit odd.

Saps approached the door, opening it. His gaze immediately directed itself to the ground from instinct. To his surprise, he didn’t find who he was expecting to run up to his legs either. He shrugged it off, making his way further in the room. He looked around his room, stopping as he looked at his bed. He stared at it in disbelief.

What he saw on his bed was Flux’s figure. He was curled up underneath the blankets, his knees raised high. In his arms, nestled against his chest and thighs, laid Joseph and the plushie Saps bought with a face that reminded him of his signature smile doodle. As he got a closer look at them, he noticed Flux’s hand was petting the top of the plushie’s head, and his other hand scratching Jospeh’s body. Flux had his eyes closed with his headphones on—asleep, most likely. The silly sight made Flux appear much more docile than he was. Saps placed his phone on his desk, near his keyboard. He threw hisFlux’s cardigan on the chair. It was a cute sight, but there was just something wrong about it.

He continued humming, making his way to the plushie’s side of the bed with quiet steps. His presence roused Joseph from his sleep—happily greeting him with purrs. Saps sat on the side of the bed, letting Joseph sit straight in his lap, staring at him expectedly. Saps giggled softly. “Alright buddy. Flux didn’t treat you well, hm?” He jabbed, knowing Flux wouldn’t hear him. He scratched the attention-seeking cat’s head, simultaneously massaging his head every so often as well. He let Joseph take up his full attention until he eventually got hungry and jumped off his lap for his food.

Now, with Joseph’s neediness tended to, Saps wanted to take care of his own. He carefully pried the plush out of Flux’s arms. He made sure he did it precisely, to not wake him up. It was relatively easy. After Saps took the plush, he threw it onto his chair in front of his desk. He rested his hand on Flux’s hip, sliding into Flux’s open arms. Flux’s curved body and slumped shoulders getting him to press his face against Saps’ shoulder. He took off his headphones, placing them on his bedside drawer. Saps moved Flux’s hands to his waist. Then, Saps moved that arm under Flux’s, gripping his shoulder.

He let out a relaxed sigh, cuddling their bodies together. He pressed a kiss against Flux’s nape. Now, it was much better. Instead of his placeholder, it was the real deal. The cogs in his head started turning—memories of finding Flux cuddling his plush on late nights where Saps told him he’d go home late rushed back to his head. Saps had always considered Flux cuddling his plush because he missed him, this basically cemented it. Bored, he noticed Flux’s phone. He took it, and stared at the lock screen. The song he had on was.. Sailor song. A playful smirk grew on his face. He didn’t listen to the song, he just knew what it was about.

Saps paused the song. “I always knew you’d a sad little yearner~ don’t worry, I love you, Flux~” Saps whispered into his ear. His voice was much more soft and deep. He gently massaged Flux’s shoulders, kissing the back of his head. He could feel Flux inching closer to him, his grip tightening as he nuzzled his face against Saps’ shoulder. The feeling was pleasant and endearing. But, Flux didn’t move that much in his sleep. “Hm… did I make you stir?” Saps lowered his voice even more. The question was aimed at himself more than Flux—His voice apologetic. He rested his head on Flux’s shoulder. Waiting for Flux’s next move.

Quickly, Flux did move. “Saps…?” He murmured, lifting his head wearily. “Yup~ I’m the real one too.” Saps replied, his tone much more playful and flirty. The words definitely were unexpected to Flux, who swiftly pushed himself back and sat up. His eyes were wide, his cheeks were dusted with a reddish hue. His mouth turned agape, struggling for words. “What~? Your wish has been granted~!” Saps drawled, keeping his tone as he winked at the end. He pushed himself up on his side, leaning on his propped up arm. He watched in glee as Flux’s gaze darted between the plush on the chair and him. He couldn’t imagine a different outcome that would be more endearing.

Saps reached out, his hand resting underneath Flux’s chin—pushing it to face him. “Come on… you missed me!” Saps replied, gently poking Flux’s warm cheek teasingly. Flux looked away, pushing Saps’ hand away. He let out a quiet breath to calm his nerves and to cool his warming face. “Whatever. Uhm.. how did you do on your quiz?” Flux spoke up, attempting to get the subject off of him. Saps’ expression immediately shifted—dropping to a sadder and more disappointed look, even if he was  acutely aware of the fact Flux wouldn’t be able to see it. It was all to sell his act. “No… I wasn’t prepared for it…” Saps sighed. His tone carried heaviness and melancholy with it’s quiet and apprehension. He flopped back down onto the bed, defeated.

Flux stayed quiet for a drawn out moment of time. He kept still, releasing a short breath and bringing a hand to his face. Soon after, he laid back down, the same hand grasping Saps’ arm and tugging him closer, much to Saps’ surprise. The surprise quickly wore off, turning to glee. Saps’ expression lit up quickly, shuffling closer to him and hugging his side. Flux slung his arm around Saps. “You’re already here anyway. I’ve been on your bed too long to go now.” Flux responded, his hand lightly rubbing Saps’ shoulder. “You’re just that weak for me? Aw~” Saps mused. A sly smile grew on his face. Flux blankly flicked Saps’ cheek. Saps scoffed, rolling his eyes.

Flux pushed a strand of hair behind his ear. His eyes lingeredon the spot longer. Saps blinked curiously, trying to gauge what the other was looking at. He tilted his head to the side. A small smile grew on his lips, his hand moving to a strand of hair behind Saps’ ear, he held the strand, bringing it forward carefully. “Dumbass.” He lightly chuckled. “It’s so messy, and you kept it?” He continued, Saps hummed in confusion. A second passed until realisation hit him. “Oh! The braid? To remind me of you. I don’t know how It didn’t undo itself while I was sprinting either.” Saps ran his hand through Flux’s hair.

“Speaking of, you went out in my clothes.” Saps huffed indignantly at Flux’s words. It wasn’t his fault anyway!

“Yeah! You didn’t tell me.” The bottom of Flux’s palm pushed Saps’ forehead back. The surprising action bringing a muffled, somewhat annoyed grunt.

“I literally did before you ran out.” Flux dead-panned. The sudden revelation stunning Saps into silence. His mouth turned agape in an o shape. His head slowly tilted to the side to hide his face, very obvious pink appearing on his cheeks. He pressed his face against Flux’s shoulder, letting his hair obscure his face even more as the fumble he missed settling in. The sheepish and nervous reaction pulling a light laugh from Flux. His hand ruffled Saps’ hair lazily, only making him feel more embarrassed. “Your.. uh- cologne. It’s so strong I could still smell it earlier… it’s pretty nice actually.” Saps admitted shyly, biting the tip of his nail unconsciously. Flux’s laughter died down quickly after the admission, letting out an awkward cough.

“Thanks. I’m glad you like it as I assumed. Also,” Flux nodded, then taking Saps’ hand that was biting his nail by the back and intertwining their fingers together. He gently pulled it away from him in the process. “you should really lose nail biting as a habit, silly little dove.” Flux advised warmly. His finger ran along Saps’ upper arm while going down mindlessly. The touch was soft and barely noticeable, yet sent shivers down Saps’ spine. “Have you been working out? You’re a bit more fit than I last remembered.” He questioned. It only aided in getting Saps much more flustered. He pressed his face up against the nook between the pillow and Flux’s shoulder, unintentionally pulling him a bit closer to himself.

“Y- yeah. Schpood drags me along with him to the gym every few days. I don’t usually do any lifting though.” Saps answered, his voice subtly shaking as he pressed a quick peck on Flux’s neck. It took a second before Flux responded. Even so, his response was abnormally quick. It was just a short and sweet hum. Although… Saps could tell it was anything but sweet. He could hear a faint venom in Flux’s tone. Saps stayed silent, his mind raking the possibilities of where that venom could possibly be directed. He lightly gasped, his realization hitting. “Are you jealous I go with Schpood?” Saps pulled away slightly, his head tilting to the side akin to a curious cat. A playfully devious glint appearing in his eyes. Flux looked away, grasping Saps’ waist but unexpectedly to him, he turned Saps on his back with Flux lying on top of him.

“And? We haven’t gone out in a couple weeks, just the two of us.” Flux stated gruffly. His arm stayed locked around Saps’ torso, his other hand pressing Saps’ shoulder down. Saps’ face turned red from the suddenness of the actions. It seemed like it was improper for the situation but… he cleared his throat, gaining composure back. “Repeat that? I can’t focus on your “threat” when you’re so hot while jealousuhhhh~” Saps drawled flirtatiously, a wide grin getting plastered across his face as he brought his finger up. He pressed the tip of his finger against his lip, curling it slightly. His eyes became crescents as his eyebrows arched, attempting to tempt Flux into an apology kiss without outright saying it. Flux’s brows furrowed in confusion, scoffing while turning his head to the side.

“You are a freak of nature, Saps.”

Your freak of nature, Flux~”

You’re lucky Im patient for you.” Flux emphasised each word slowly. Saps’ grin grew wider while he chuckled, until Flux’s lips crashed against his unexpectedly. A startled and muffled squeal escaped from his mouth, the sound pulling a smile onto Flux’s face. Saps’ face turned pink, but it felt too nice for the pull away that happened so soon. They admittedly took longer than they expected enthralled in their little kiss. When they pulled away, Flux playfully scoffed. “How the hell do you still taste like alcohol?”

“Never mind that, wanna go on a date tonight?”

“… sure.”

“Yay!”
