Chapter 1: my name is craig tucker

Chapter Text

my name is craig tucker, and i have psychic superpowers

i keep this secret because i really dont want to get involved in all that drama.

my life is fine the way it is, i just watch red racer, go to school, and sleep. i have my small group of friends, what else do i need? oh, and ofcourse my pet guinne pig, stripe. all i need to do is get through the school year with no interuptions, easy right?

all of my friends have girlfriends, i mean, cylde has bebe (despite them being on and off 24/7), tolkien has nichole, everyone has a girlfriend. ive never had any interest in girls though. they all look the same to me, i just dont see the appeal i guess. im not particularly sad about my lack of interest in relationships, i mean its for the best anyways. relationships mean drama, and i intend to steer clear of drama.

this school year will be uneventful and normal, ill get average grades, and most importantly, it will be the exact same as last year was, and the year before that, and the year before that.

school was supposed to start tomorrow, this being the last day of the summer, Craig had decided to have a relaxed, quiet day without any interuptions.

He slipped on his ring and pure bliss followed. no spoilers for the next red racer episode, no strangers thoughts flooding his head. all that he could hear was stripe trotting around his cage and his own mind. it was serene, not exactly silent, but that nice kind of quiet where you can just chill out.

______________

he slipped on a t shirt and jeans, a casual outfit as again, today was just a quiet, uneventful day. last minute, he decided to grab his trusty blue jacket; just incase.

he didnt put in his headphones, though he did keep them in his pocket - just incase he had a change of heart - he just walked. often times craig would just walk around with no set destination in mind, but today he knew exactly where he was going.

a few streets down, a new coffee shop had just opened and craig had been dying to get his hands on their coffee jelly. his usually stone face somewhat relaxed at the mere thought.

its supposed to be really good and if it truely lives up to its expectations, it would be the closest cafe to his house. from what hes gathered from customers thoughts in previous days, its apparently rather small but in a cozy way. he hates to admit it but craig was genuinely looking forwards to giving it a try.

strangely enough, hes never been a massive fan of coffee, its bitter and just sort of gross in his opinion, but hes a sucker for a sweet treat.

halting his train of thought, the coffee shop (affectionately dubbed "tweak.bros") was just to his left. From the exterior, craig gathered that it really was what it was made out to be, just a chilled out local cafe with warm lighting and a few regulars.

he stepped in and the smell of fresh brewed coffee hit him immediately. glancing around, he noticed that there werent many customers, probably due to the hour. there were the odd few couples or groups dotted around, and a few students on laptops, but that was about it.

as he walked up to the front counter, he noticed the cashier seemed about his age. and he looked pretty stressed. he stood there for a second waiting for the blonde boy to look up at him.

he was fairly short with messy blonde hair pulled back into a loose ponytail. he had unsteady hands and a fairly pale complexion

"w-welcome to tweak.bros, what would you like to order?" sneeking a peak at his nametag, craig learnt the shorter boys name was "Tweek". true to his name, he had alot of twitches and fidgets.

"can i get a coffee jelly please" he deadpanned. he looked so stressed considering it was a pretty quiet morning. tweek smiled and nodded almost frantically, grabbing a premade pot from a mini freezer behind him. hiding a slight grimace, craig watched him fiddle with the lid, trying and failing to pry it open.

"do you need any help with that?" he asked. thankfully, the blonde handed over the jelly with no protest, muttering an embarrased apology under his breath. with little to no effort, craig opened the pot and handed it back to the employee, who swifltly grabbed it off of him and continued making the womderful delicacy craig had been so desperate for.

craig decided to go grab a table while tweek did his thing, which apparently was the right move as he seemed to do alot better without the pressure of his customer looming over him as he worked. that was his bad, craig supposed.

carefully balancing the coffee jelly, tweek walked over to craigs table and set it down besides him.

"would you like anything else with that?" he asked, looking over at craig. without saying a word, he just shook his head and dug into the treat. giggling a little, tweek left and went back to the front of the shop.

he'd be sure to come back here, this little shop has really good coffee jelly! and the customer service wasnt bad either. peeking over at the formentioned employee, he watched as tweek ticked and figited with his hands.

in the back corner, there was a (by craigs standards, large) group of teens who to be fair, were very respectful and quiet, had disperced - leaving quite the mess for tweek to try to carry alone. although craig couldnt hear his thoughts, he could gather enough from his face that he wasnt pleased.

watching as he attempted to gather multiple plates, craig almost felt bad for him. the poor dude was his age and rather than playing video games or watching a movie or whatever, he was stuck working on a sunday morning.

usually, he doesnt use his powers to intervine in other peoples lives, but craig felt like he owed it to him. besides, he made some of the best coffee jelly he'd had in a while. so what if when a bowl threatened to fall off the table, it somehow managed to find balance before breaking?

finishing up his desert around the same time tweek finished the table, craig carried his dirty cutlery and bowl over to the front, rather than giving tweek more work to do.
"oh, thanks man" he smiled at craig, a tired, but genuine smile. and tweek could have sworn a smile twitched at the corner of craigs own mouth.
