   Summary

   “The past is what the past is. There’s nothing that we can do to change it, all we can do is just…move forward.”

   Natsu had that determined look on his face. Gray knew that Natsu believed every word that he was saying, this wasn’t an empty platitude. Had it come from anyone else, Gray thinks he would have scoffed.

   “I don’t know how,” Gray found himself whispering.

   Natsu’s expression wavered and shifted into something dimmer. “I don’t either,” Natsu returned in that same hushed tone, his eyes darting away from Gray for just a moment before coming back with a fire in them. “I just know that I don’t want to lose you.”

   Gray didn’t know why he did it.

   Leaning down to press his lips against Natsu’s was probably the least appropriate response; Gray should have neve—

   Natsu tilted his head and slotted their lips together perfectly. His lips moved against Gray’s, and Gray couldn’t find it in himself to regret or curse his impulsive decision. They fit together like two puzzle pieces; like they made sense.
