Chapter Text
When the trio came into the King’s Classroom one morning, they were mildly surprised at the state of the room (even though it wasn’t unusual for the misfits to mess around in the classroom before school hours). Lied was silently sulking in the corner beside Purson and Camui while the rest of the misfits sat in a circle around one demoness, Elizabetta.
—Iruma’s POV—
Curiously, I approached the circle of demons. Or more specifically, kneeled down silently next to Keroli and asked what everyone was so worked up about, to which she adjusted her glasses.
“You know how Elizabetta has been getting closer to Ameri-senpai?” I blinked for a moment, before nodding. “Yeah…? Wait, don’t tell me…!” Keroli smirked gently, as if I was finally catching on.
“They went on their first date yesterday!”
My eyes immediately lit up. From what I’ve heard from Clara, Elizabetta has been ‘acting all gushy-mushy around Lady Redhead’, so to hear that they’ve finally gone out together is amazing! I’m a little upset since that means Ameri and I have even fewer days out of the very little we already had for our reading sessions, but if that means that she can spend her time with her new girlfriend, I’m not too bothered by it. I momentarily thought about asking Elizabetta to our reading sessions (it was a romance, after all)… but I quickly realized that it would be a bit difficult explaining why Ameri had access to so many books in a strange language that nobody in the netherworld could read besides me. And either way, we were up to volume 30 by now, so I’d have to spend a lot of time catching her up to where we were currently at.
Behind me, I heard two familiar footsteps approaching seconds before Clara came flying from behind, hugging me as she tugged at my sleeve. “Iruma-chi!!! What’s happening?”
“Elizabetta and Ameri finally got together!” I said excitedly while also leaning backwards slightly for her to jump off of me.
“THEY DID?!” Clara gasped, “That explains why Floaty was crying harder than Sin Sin and Ran Ran when they both want the same toy…!”
I could tell Azz-kun was seconds away from scolding Clara for insulting their classmate by comparing him to her younger siblings… but he didn’t get the opportunity to when Clara immediately ran off and hugged Elizabetta, to which he immediately ran over and peeled her off.
“Nee-san!!! Promise to let me be your bridesmaid at your wedding, okay?”
While Elizabetta giggled at her antics as Azz-kun apologized, I froze slightly. Weddings? I knew humans had weddings, of course. I was offered by a past coworker to attend their wedding and I even went to my parents' wedding (which was more of a faux wedding as an excuse to change their alias again)… but demons? I hadn’t exactly considered that.
I understood that just like each human seems to have their own traditions, so does each demon. But I still couldn’t help but get curious…
From what I could tell, Elizabetta’s family is a bit like what I imagine a western family to be like, so she would likely wear something like a white wedding dress and veil. I could already tell she would look beautiful in one alongside Ameri. She already looked beautiful during the Lilith’s carpet performance, so it wasn’t difficult to imagine her in something similar.
Azz-kun seemed a bit western culturally as well… and he always wore something that vaguely resembled a western suit instead of the usual uniform. Even so, I still imagined him in one. Neatly ironed like always, but buttoned up. His lapel would still likely have snake and heart motifs and small golden embroidery… which would probably cost more than my entire hometown. Maybe he would have two small braids crowning his hair as it’s pulled back into a blue ribbon… It's always blue.
Clara would look gorgeous in a wedding dress as well. Maybe one of those poofy dresses with a long train that made the bride look like a princess… I think she’d look beautiful with lace details in her bodice and veil, but I know she’d either want bows on her dress… or embroidery to match with Azz-kun and I.
I didn’t even realize I was blushing while zoning out and staring at them until I heard Jazz start calling out for me while waving his hand in my face. “IIIIruuummmaaaa! You feeling alright?”
“J-Jazz! Yeah, I’m alright.” I nearly jumped, before regaining my composure. Jazz tilted his head slightly. “Are you sure? You don’t normally zone out like that. Not to mention you look pretty red…” And as soon as Jazz leaned in closer, raising his hand up to take my temperature, I quickly started moving towards the hallway.
“I’m sure! I just need to grab some water! I’ll be back in a bit!” I shouted before I darted out of the classroom, leaving a befuddled Jazz standing in my smoke. Hopefully, he didn’t realize why I was so red… or who I was staring at.
— Andro M. Jazz POV —
I watched as Iruma ran out of the room redder than a bunch of devitomatoes. Tracing back to where I was staring, he started putting the pieces together. Behind me was a sobbing Lied, running up to me with a loud “Jazzy!”, and using me as a human shield as Purson started playfully attacking him over something trivial. Eventually, Purson backed off, but I kept staring off into the distance until Lied interrupted me. “Jazzy! What are you staring at…?”
“Lied-kun… say, if Iruma were to have a crush on anyone, do you think it’d be Clara or Asmodeus?” I asked, glancing once again towards the duo before Lied responded. “Clarin for sure! If it were Azz, they’d certainly be dating by now… I mean, it’s extremely obvious that Azz likes him, right? Even if he’s a bit slow to social cues, I’m sure even Iruma knows that Azz would happily date him if given the chance.”
We then stood there for a moment, actually thinking about it. Would he be able to tell Asmodeus likes him…? Asmodeus is both overprotective of him and Clara, so I wouldn’t put it past him if he simply assumed Asmodeus was being friendly. Iruma has been known for being overly platonic with those that he interacts with, so it wouldn’t be too surprising that he just overlooked it.
Iruma returned to the classroom a few minutes later with a slightly damp collar and sleeve. It was a pretty clear that Iruma tried to splash water onto his face to cool himself off… but it didn’t seem to matter when he got flustered yet again as soon as Asmodeus ran over and started drying his clothes with his flames, to which Lied and I exchanged glances as soon as we saw that flush creep up his face.
