Kim Soleum didn’t know what to do. He went to his room because he wanted to use the glasses, but Baek Saheon trailed after him, insistent on going with him.
“Haa..,” Baek Saheon sighed, staring at the worn down walls and dilapidated floor. The only prominent thing was a basic bed.
Kim Soleum was about to take out the glasses before Baek Saheon stopped him, eyes narrowing.
“Didn’t I tell you to be inconspicuous?” Baek Saheon scolded. “Do you even have anything to repay me back for this as well? After all, I turned of the CCTV and drove everyone away. Maybe, if you beg nicely..”
“Section Chief,” Kim Soleum directly said with a straight face—an attempt at breaking the tension. “I don’t have anything other than the glasses.”
Baek Saheon’s face froze at the formal address but he didn’t back off. It was getting to the point that Kim Soleum was starting to get seriously concerned.
“Don’t- Don’t call me that.”
Baek Saheon paused in front of Kim Soleum before pulling him flush into a hug, arms huddled around the other securely. There was a flush to Kim Soleum’s ears as he felt the gloved texture on his body.
“You said you don’t have any other stuff to pay me, right?”
There was an odd premonition in the air. Kim Soleum had a feeling something would happen regardless of his answer so he stayed silent as Baek Saheon shuffled in his view.
“There’s another way.”
“Huh?”
Baek Saheon lifted his hand to Kim Soleum’s cheek.
“What are you-?”
“Shh. There’s still people outside. Didn’t I tell you not to stand out?” Baek Saheon whidpered. “Thankfully, we’ll be alone for a bit.”
Kim Soleum bit his lip as he quieted down.
He didn't expect to suddenly be spun around, leaving him dizzy and scrambling for something stable before Baek Saheon kissed him, roughly shoving his tongue in before Kim Soleum could even register what was happening.
Baek Saheon felt a little smug that Kim Soleum was listening to him so obediently. The agent from Jisan Village may have been a role of Kim Soleum, but the act of uselessly sacrificing himself and his savior personality was all too real.
Subconsciously, Baek Saheon’s hands tightened after remembering that Kim Soleum only pretended to be crazy because of distrust. He only came back to his senses when he felt the sounds of someone weakly twisting in his hold. Kim Soleum squirmed like a bug.
“Is it not enough?” Baek Saheon seriously questioned. “Do I need to do this more to let my message come across?”
“A-ah, wait.” Kim Soleum’s voice wavered. “Baek Saheon—”
Baek Saheon pressed his mouth against Kim Soleum’s again, letting the reply get cut off. A rush of euphoria passed through Baek Saheon’s brain as he began to hug Kim Soleum tighter into his embrace, practically melding into his clothes.
‘A lot has happened in these three years.” Baek Saheon eyes Kim Soleum. ‘He has only been out for one year, so he still views everything like this..’
Baek Saheon would’ve been frustrated, but there was a strange feeling of glee welling up through Baek Saheon’s veins as he scraped his nails against Kim Soleum’s skin, feeling the other’s body twitch.
Kim Soleum heaved with a reddened face that seemed to be full of mixed thoughts, confusion and acceptance.
“B-Baek Saheon. Shouldn’t you be using your time for something more—?” Kim Soleum’s eyes darted wildly, subconsciously evading Saheon’s direct emotions that were vibrant in his gaze. “Ah, I am glad to see you too, but kissing—”
“I am using my time for something useful though?” Baek Saheon’s eyes crinkled.
It was too bad they were still in the Namhae Branch, they really couldn’t risk getting caught. Otherwise, Baek Saheon would’ve showed his long departed roommate a real storm, haha.
“Soleum-ah, please listen to me from now on,” Baek Saheon said with great fervor, sneaking kisses all over his former supervisor’s face and neck. “I’ll help smuggle you out, so don’t save people so blindly you crazy bastard.”
Baek Saheon held onto the other with a strained smile.
It’s because I care.
After someone else finally warmed their way into Baek Saheon’s heart, a lingering fear returned.
“…” Kim Soleum swallowed, turning his head away from the vulnerability that was Baek Saheon. His former roommate seemed to be processing what he said.
Baek Saheon grabbed Kim Soleum’s jaw to force him to look directly at him and take in Baek Saheon’s appearance. Compared to Kim Soleum’s dirty appearance, Baek Saheon still had most of his neat appearance, save for the slightly mussed up hair, sweat, and unbuckled suit pants.
It hurt a little seeing the other’s refusal to directly answer. It was okay if the other couldn’t answer because Baek Saheon could answer it instead.
Instead of roughly shoving himself against Kim Soleum again to avoid proper communication, Baek Saheon replied by leaning down and kissing the other into sweetness—which was.. another way to avoid properly talking.
Besides, now isn’t the time.
Despite the many thoughts and feelings flowing rapidly through Baek Saheon’s mind at the moment, he quickly shook out of it and suppressed them.
‘I want Kim Soleum to say it to me directly. I want to hear the answer from the source but even if I want to hear it right now..’
Baek Saheon had three years to sort out his thoughts. It wouldn’t be fair.
Well.
Life wasn’t fair either but Baek Saheon wanted to give Kim Soleum that chance. Even if.. Kim Soleum didn’t really give him that chance in the past, treating Baek Saheon with a crazy personality so Baek Saheon would stay away.
Baek Saheon wanted to shout, ‘Why? Why did you only not trust me?’ but in the back of his head, Baek Saheon knew that it was reasonable though.
“Well,” Baek Saheon smoothly said despite his inner turmoil running rampant. He turned his head away from his former roommate’s prying eyes. “You don’t have to answer yet.”
He suddenly turned his head back and smiled brightly.
Kim Soleum blinked.
I’ll catch you like you did back then, so please trust in me a little more.
