Summary
"Is it better to speak or to die?"
To Jude, speaking is dying - he tried to speak, once, and the result had felt like death. The memories of what he and Erling once were permeate his mind, lodged into his very soul, even four years later. Jude doesn't want to have to speak and die again-but without Erling, he feels like he's been dying every day, anyway.
Now, Erling seems set on finally speaking, but he's never learned how to without dying, either. With the England versus Norway game looming, all he can do is hope that it isn't too little, too late.
