Summary
Courtland Gentry knows who he is and what he’s done, he knows the type of life he lives, and twelve years ago, he would have said that Ryland Grace is the only thing that he has ever wanted. He’d still say it, twelve years later even after breaking Ryland’s heart. But he knows it’s nothing more than a silly dream, a fantasy he let himself believe he deserved.
One year after the mission in Bangkok, Court has retired from the CIA and adopted Claire Fitzroy. It’s not easy, it’s still an adjustment, but they’re both doing their best. Doing their best means moving to San Francisco for a new start, where Claire enrolls into Grover Cleveland Middle School for her 8th-grade year. Court expects an easier life. What he doesn’t expect is Ryland, his ex-boyfriend who he is still in love with, being Claire’s science teacher.
