Summary
Ryan’s eyes scan past them all, not exactly sure what he’s looking for, but he lets out a sigh of disappointment anyway.
But then he sees him.
He doesn’t stand a little straighter, hoping to get picked like the others. In fact, he’s sitting down on the edge of the curb, eyes not focused on anything specifically, a cigarette dangling loosely from his lips. His elbows rest lightly on his knees. He’s wearing light colored jeans and a black hoodie with minimal stains.
Ryan can’t see much of his face in the low lights but he catches the dark shimmering color of his eyes. His straight brunette strands of hair fall onto his forehead messily, tickling the smooth skin of his face.
Ryan watches each face drop as he drives by the boys until he pulls up to exactly who he has his eyes on.
It takes a second for the other boy to even realize Ryan is there. But then he looks up with wide brown eyes that make Ryan’s stomach go light.
