    One month after MJ was almost killed five times, Peter Parker is still just a stranger.

    At least, that's what she keeps telling herself.

    Ned has already moved on. He doesn't remember Peter from before, and he probably never will, just like her - but that doesn't stop him from becoming Peter's best friend all over again. According to him, the old memories don't matter when they can just make new ones.

    MJ, on the other hand, can't seem to do the same. She can't just forget what happened, forget what he said, and pretend Peter is someone new in their lives. So, she keeps her distance.

    Until Peter shows up at her apartment in the middle of the night, bruised, bleeding, and asking for Ned.
